Coraline & Bone

Ok two great books I suggest everyone should read at least once in their lives. The first one, Coraline is a super creepy teenage novel about this 8 year old girl whos parents are kidnapped by this thing called a Beldam. It has a human form with buttons for eyes and long claw like hands. I dont know, I thought it was pretty cool.

The second book is a series and is a graphic novel. Its about these three little creatures called Bones who are driven out of their home town of Boneville. They end up in a foreign land of Dragons and these things called rat creatures. They soon find them selves in a giant conflict, a forgotten princess, a legendary city, old soldiers and a ghost queen bent on destroying the entire civilized land. It was cool, and very long. But its well worth it. If you buy this, I would suggest buying the complete compilation of the series. because the story is broken up into seperate books and its cheaper to just buy the compiled set.

Enjoy!

Re: Coraline & Bone

I almost read Coraline once, just because it's made by Neil Gaiman, but there were so many other books to read. And to be honest, it looked a little kiddy. Not saying it is kiddy, only that itt looked like it might be.

And Bone, then... It's one of my all-time favourite comics. It starts out as a humorous little story suitable for everybody, but gradually turns into an epic, LotR-esque fantasy saga. It has just the right amounts of humor and suspense, and some purty art. Although the main characters look as if they were drawn by some little kid, everything else looks photo-realistic. I especially liked the facial expressions.

By the by, did you know there's also a Bone computer game? I haven't played it because the demo doesn't work on my comp, but it could be worth a shot. I don't like the graphics (cel-shading would've been perfect), but those aren't so important anyway.
