Does anyone else have a favorite song? What genre is it? Who sings/performs/composed it? Does it have any special meaning to you?
My favorite song is "Injection" by Rise Against. It has sort of a hardcore/punk metal sound that I LOVE! And although I can't directly relate to the idea of addiction, it is still very emotionally appealing and deep
Hah, this thread is going to see a lot of activity.
For me, it would have to be PDA by Interpol. It exemplifies the kind of mellow, bass heavy, romantic music I can easily get into.
A close second would be Heart Cooks Brain by Modest Mouse, third being Only Skin by Joanna Newsom. The list could go on indefinitely, so it's hard to choose.
Sung by my favorite Vocaloid, Hatsune Miku. Song name, Tell Your World.
Why I like it, It's so up-beat and fun to listen to. If only I knew what she was saying.
You tell it Miku!

Wow haha, its amazing how different someones tastes can be;
If I were to choose only one, it would be Guaranteed by Eddie Vedder from the movie Into the Wild. There is just something about the song and the movie in general that gets to me.
The song Fields of Gold also has a very special place in my heart. Either the original by Sting, or sung by Eva Cassidy. It's "our" song.
I'm not a big Phil Collins fan, but his work in Tarzan is just awesome. This was one of my main Disney movies growing up, so this song has nostalgic value for me. All biases aside, its lyrics are great and the arrangement is beautiful. Overall, it's a great song.
I was originally going to post Golden Slumbers on its own, but then I decided to post the part of the medley with that, Carry That Weight, and The End. Ultimately, I had to take the medley as a whole, though. Even though the songs are unrelated, there's still a sense of unity that the medley has that makes it impossible for me not to.
Apparently during the recording of The End, John didn't want Yoko to come into the studio with him, saying something about getting back to his roots. That's awesome in itself (and not because I'm not a fan of Yoko).
I've never been a fan of Rise Against. But that's just me.
This song is sung by Hatsune Miku as well, and it's a cover. It was originally by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, I think that's correct.
I like Miku's version of PONPONPON better than the original. This too is up-beat and fun!
Here something in english.
Beck is my favorite music artist that sings in english. He's so creative with his music, lyrics and everything. I love it!
This is just one of my favorite songs; and it's probley well known too.
Here's something you might not expect from me.
It's a German band named Rammstein. Some of their videos are disgusting. But that's not why I like them. It's the music they make. It's great! Even if I don't agree with what they are saying.
It's extremely difficult for me to choose an overall favorite song. This song definitely a contender for that position. It's easily one of their most chaotic, aggressive, and discordant songs. It's also one hell of a way to open an album, something this band has a knack at doing.
I'm not gonna embed because I hate youtube quality audio and nobody clicks on the damn things anyway.
Soma by The Smashing Pumpkins constantly stuns me. It's beautiful and sad, melodic then heavy, delicate but excessive. It's just got everything. It's also on my favourite ever album which is the flawless gem that is Siamese Dream.
How Soon Is Now? is classic. I remember the oscillating reverb at the start from my childhood, the realisation of its bleak profundity in my adolescence, and the joys of dancing to it when pissed out of one's mind rather recently. The Smiths at their best. And it was a b-side!
Finally, Ten to Twenty by Sneaker Pimps. The other two choices are very famous examples of large rollercoaster songs. I think that this song is just an underrated fantastic piece of electronic music that I never get bored of. Always makes me want to move.
I don't have a favorite genre. I like all kinds of music. I notice I tend to like slow, sad songs or songs with lots of calm instruments than others, but I also listen to lots of screaming Jrock and such.

MM is great Teeth is pure energy and its great. I love how the song gets really quite and almost stops then comes right back in with the drums. Freakin amazing.
I don't really have favorite songs, but I have songs I've been liking a lot lately. I started listening to toe they are a post rock/math rock band and I love it.
