Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Let me first start off by saying I'm not a Green Lantern fan. I don't dislike it though, but I'm not too familiar with the mythos. I was first introduced to GL through the Justice League cartoon, and later read Green Lantern Secret Origin along with the story where Hal becomes Parallax or something. Other than that, not that into him. Never saw the movie, so I can't say anything regarding that.

When I heard that there was going to be a GL series on Cartoon Network, and in CG, I rolled my eyes. I've never been a fan of CG TV series and the promotional art looked rather grating to me, though it mostly has to do with me being a purist on traditional animation. Heck the designs look like they belong in traditional animation. The only reason why I even bothered to watch this one was because Bruce Timm, the mastermind of the DCAU, was making this one. So I checked it out, and much to my surprise, I was hooked.

While the CG characters look a little blocky and can get jarring at times, the animation is slick, and the action is great. The story is also great and epic, and you can't expect any less from Timm. Season finale thjis week will be epic

Are people supposed to just comment on the show here? You didn't ask anything. Anyway, the story is pretty weak as far as fight scenes are concerned, but the character development is way better than what I expected for a daytime cartoon.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

I keep hearing about it but I've never bothered to check it out. The animation style didn't really appeal to me and I'm totes fickle so I added it to my HELL NAW list.

Bruce Timm is behind it eh? Does it stack up to his other creations? Namely Batman: TAS?

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

I saw a few clips on Cartoon Network last week when I visited my family. Not a fan of the animation either, they should have just stick to the traditional animation like JLU and Young Justice.

I prefer Marvel over DC but when it comes to animation and writing, DC is better.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Doesn't Nathan Fillion voice Hal in this one?

Apparently not. Dunno which feature Fillion was the voice, I guess.

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Nope. Josh Keaton is voicing Hal. Keaton was the voice of Spidey in Spectacular Spiderman

Re: Green Lantern: The Animated Series

I like the character Razer. Yeah I know the concept goes against the who comic canon of Red Lanterns but still cool armor.
