I used to like it, but then I took an arrow to the face watched the [)subbed version() and fell in love.

I like the English dub too, but I just prefer the sub. I mean there are some things that make me hit my head against the wall for. Like the whole "milkshake instead of sake" bull♥♥♥♥.

I've only ever watched the first two. I started three but had trouble getting into it. Digimon will always be a part of my childhood though!

Tamers does start a little slow, but once it does get started its MIND RAPE ALL DA THINGS.

Besides, I don't even recall anyone getting drunk in Digimon.

I think they did have a cigarette in season 1 when Matt's farther stomps out a cigarette when T.K and mom are present.

I love the dubs, though they could have improved on things like "SORA! I CAN FEEL YOUR LOVE!" and the voices for the biomerges in Tamers. Gallantmon sounds horrendous and I know they gave him an actual, unique voice in Japanese. I also know that the dub completely ♥♥♥♥s up the second-to-last scene in Tamers.

Tamers is definitely my favorite and I'll have to go with Impmon/Beelzemon for my favorite character, since one of his scenes made me tear up.

Also, seeing a bit of Ryo hate, I kinda don't understand it. I mean, he didn't have much business being in there, mainly being there as a bit of a treat for fans of the games he was in, but he was pretty harmless.

In the Latin American dub they said it was liquor which is close enough, no one freaked out. Besides, it was basically the typical reference to that japanese legend where they get the giant multi-headed snake drunk in order to kill it. Not to mention in the English dub they censor that but apparently strangling children because you're pissed is ok (since they didn't censor that scene between Yamaki and Jian, I think).

EDIT: The hate for Ryo is (at least in my case) because he pops out of nowhere and is like "LOL I am the legendary tamer", I know he doesn't act like that but Kazu and Kenta's constant fangasming aggravate it to the max, not to mention Justimon's moves and attitude when he appears would fit in just as well as having Captain Falcon popping in

Tamers is weird about censorship, but I thought the milk shake thing was humorous, at the very least.

Well when I was watching it, I was super confused and being like "why is this snake acting like he is drunk. He's drinking a milkshake!" I was so confused until when I re-watched the subs and I was like "this makes so much more sense."

Didn't know the title of it before, but Digimon Tamers by a mile.
What could be cooler than a sock puppet digivolving?

There's one point where a Digimon gets drunk in Adventure, and then Wizarmon pretends to be drunk a few episodes later.

Well, Juri worked with her father, and her father serves Sake. So she'd know what it is at least, and how to deal with roudy customers... by giving them more. There was a point in here somewhere.
