[Animé] Your controversial anime opinion

This is the anime version of an other thread that been getting alot post over the course of 2 months.
No narutard based opinion please because it already a common opinion in the anime fandom.

The only good thing about death note is it soundtrack and animation but other then that it a boring anime to watch unless you want to deal with long chat scene with long monologue and a very adult story you wound mostly expect out of seinen anime not a shounen anime.

This is mostly for anime fans not the people from the hatedom and people who reject anime because of the animation age ghetto.

-I don't hate Naruto/Naruto Shippuden, and I honestly think that the hatedom has become so dominant that calling Naruto 'overrated' is ridiculous. Even though that still happens, like all of the time.

-I really don't like Gintama. Well, it's okay, but it receives far too much credit. It's proclaimed to be absolutely hilarious, but also really good for its emotional moments during its 'serious arcs'. However, it's not really that funny to me. It had its moments in the episodes I watched (with was around 60 episodes IIRC), but for the most part it was boring. Anime/manga that aren't humor-centric beat it out by a great deal.

The episodic nature of it combined with the hit or miss humor makes it very hard to watch. I only got as far as I did because I was open-minded and wanted to see what was so great about it. Even after one of the 'serious arcs', I was honestly not impressed.

-I despise fanservice. Fanservice alone will not make me dislike a series. I love One Piece like no other series, even though it has undeniable fanservice. However, other series go much further than One Piece, and when they do that it is very hard for me to watch the series. I don't want to be looking at massively oversized boobs, nor do I want to see panty shots. I am not attracted to cartoon characters. Much less cartoon characters that look like they should be in elementary school (aside from their oversized boobs).

-Perhaps not specifically an controversial anime opinion. However, I do not like the attitude of which many anime fans take against American cartoons. I enjoy American cartoons a lot, and the elitism of the anime fanbase gets on my last nerve.

Of course, the "All anime is bad" opinion is no better.

Black Rock Shooter and Black Rock Shooter Innocent Soul are two different things and I like the manga better.

Dragonball Z Abridged is better than Dragonball Z.

DBZA is pretty good, though recently it's gotten pretty stale and some of the jokes haven't been up to par.

Also the whole ghost nappa thing is incredibly stupid, and they only do it because he basically carried the earlier season comedy wise.

It's still a fun watch though.

...I'm not sure this is a thread to discuss DBZA though so I'll also say that I don't think hating fan service is a controversial or minority opinion or whatever.

I agree. Same thing with Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged. However, I think that DBZ is really really slow paced, and that DBZA really fixes that problem.

My controversial opinion:

If it's in the style of anime, meaning if it looks like anime, then it is anime. I could care less which country the show was actually made in.

Watch Dragon Ball Kai if you have that problem. It basically fixes all the pacing problems, looks a lot better and the dubbing is better (at least I think it is.)

It basically cuts down like those 250 episodes to like less than 100 or something.

So side stuff and pointless filler is removed. So is the YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Me too. Having some gag panty shot or something like that is ok but when they go overboard (like say a female character grabbing the tit of another female character for no apparent reason) just makes me angry. Its so pointless.

I dont like a lot of anime. In fact, i have no interest whatsoever in a lot of new(er) anime.

I cant stand Cowboy Bebop. [/rotten fruit dodging] Sorry...i just never liked it.

I prefer dubs. (unless the show is CardCaptor Sakura)

However, i noticed this attitude isnt as popular as it was a few years ago but its still there in pockets.

I prefer my anime to be more....umm....well less naughty and for it to make sense. Kinda goes with the fanservice thing but i just dont like seeing really naughty content in animated form. And the whole mind♥♥♥♥ery thing that a lot of anime has...nah i want my story arcs to make some sense. Its probably why i prefer anime movies over the series. (Seriously, if they actually made a series of Vampire Hunter D, i would go genocidal.)

I would recommend against you watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya then. It's full of that.

Although occasionally it is plot-related.

Oh trust me, Randy, Im not touching that one with a ten food cattleprod. Srsly. The character design of the main character was enough to put me off. (that and its legions of fanboys.)

I hate mecha. Seriously.. except Zoids CC and GF, but that's because it was the only thing on at 6 AM in 2001-2003.

Most mecha anime from what I've seen is "oh noes, we can't kill it! Summon the big ass ♥♥♥♥ing robot!" or "robot vs robot vs robot" Granted Zoids was the latter, but Irvine is a badass.
