In terms of Asami, Korra, and Mako. I think Korra kinda forced herself on to Mako by telling him out of the blue that she likes him.

That alone is usually bound to screw-up any existing relationship.

I get the feeling that Bolin's reaction was to tell the fans not to take it too seriously. It seemed a little too hammy to me. I mean gushing tears and snot? I'd expect him to be hurt, but not quite that bad.

The moment right when he saw them was heartbreaking, but then I couldn't take it seriously when he started crying.

How could he though? Korra literally blind-sided him how can any male think rationally when something like that happens?

How can a man think rationally when a woman dresses provocatively? He can because despite what society believes about male sexuality, we can control ourselves and make rational decisions despite feelings of attraction.

The real question is can anyone in his age and position really claim that they wouldn't have made the same mistakes he did? More importantly, can anyone really deny that, however misguided his decision was, he acted out of a desire to spare Asami pain rather than self interest?

But no, let's all hate on Mako because who gives a ❤❤❤❤ that he has been supporting both himself and his little brother for who knows how long and was forced to grow up too soon? And before you bring up Sokka's missing dad and deceased mom, let me say: Kanna.

I don't disagree. I suppose it is right to say that it wasn't the best way to start a love-triangle.

I never said it was good idea. However, if he truly was acting out of self interest, he would have been two timing with Korra (or rather attempt to) rather than try to stay committed to Asami.

I can't believe I'm arguing about something like this...it's as bad as a ___ vs. ___ thread.

I don't hate Mako, and I don't hold the whole thing totally against him. I do hold him accoutnable for his mistake, though.

Common knowledge.

Mako got blindsided by what happened to Korra and let his feelings for her get in the way what he felt for Asami.

Re: The Legend of Korra - Book 4 debuts Oct. 3rd!

It wasn't just Mako that caused the deal with the triangle, Korra played an equal part. Asami did too, but to a far lesser extent.

We could argue that if Asami hadn't been speeding then she wouldn't have crashed into Mako, then again we could argue that Mako should've been looking where he was going... The again, we could blame that on his road safety education... Then again, he didn't have any education... So, I blame the Firebender that killed his parents

In all seriousness, I think Korra was the trigger. If she hadn't, rather selfishly, shown her love for Mako then it wouldn't in the current situation. I don't see how Korra's actions are any less D-baggy than Mako's, considering he basically did what Korra did.

I think that's supposed to be a guy with Aang's arrow on his head, so I consider this as an Avatar meme:
