Re: Pretty effin metal in here, eh? - Official Metal/Punk Thread

I liked Mustaine when he was Satanic bugger throwing druggie not afraid of writing anything, now he is sort of an sober, annoying shadow of his former self...stuff he says nowadays is funnier than Varg's statements.
As for Megadeth, liked 13 a bit more than Endgame, mainly cause the songs varied a bit more but they are still both close to bottom of my favs list when it comes to their discography.

Peace Sells is one of my favorite CD's but new megadeth just feels like poop. Dave Mustaine has completed the reverse-chrysalis transformation from Queen of Blades to Kerrigan, he is a mild mannered Hank Hill who refused to play a set with Rotting Christ because of their BLASPHEMOUS name. DONCHA KNOW THAT KILLIN - IS MY BUSINESS - AND BUSINESS IS GOOOOOOOOOOOODDD of course Dave has always been a control freak ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but at least back then he was putting out good material while he cocked out at people.

Re: Pretty effin metal in here, eh? - Official Metal/Punk Thread

I like Megadeth a lot. With Killing is my Business, Peace Sells and Rust in Peace as my favorite albums by them in no particular order. Endgame comes close to these because I liked it a lot too but not as much.
There's a few albums I have yet to listen in it's entirety like Cryptic Writings or Risk, but nevertheless a great band IMO.

Oh and they put up a good show live, got to see them last November in Monterrey. Mustaine and Ellefson were all chill with the crowd, and watching Chris Broderick play Poison was the Cure and Symphony of Destruction's solo was incredible.

Megaeth is awsome, every song IMO is amazing. I like every song and own all albums. And I don't find Megadeth Overrated at all. a lot of people hate them actually, when it comes to thrash metallica and slayer are overrated. Megadeth just have good solid riffs and IMO great lyrics. I think the greatest band of that era. actually i find he is the greatest artist, if you listen to all 150 songs they have all the way through you can see every song is good, heavy, but has it's own unique sound. Just amazing I think. And all the stuff he did for and with metallica, Without dave metallica would be nothing.

eh metallica and megadeth are sorta thrash at most.
As a guy who actually likes thrash i tend to prefer to listen to bands like Artillery or Demolition hammer.

Looked up some Artillery songs, they're sounding excellent! Reminds me of Heathen a tad bit, which is of course a good thing.

My favorite Opeth song "The Grand Conjuration" comes from that album actually!

I just listened to Fear of Tomorrow. VERY good album, some of the best thrash I've listened to. The tracks "The Almighty" and "King, Thy Name is Slayer" really stood out.

I would call them alright, consistently not infuriating, but they don't really ever make me go "oh man" or get parts stuck in my head. I never really got into them much when i first started listening to metal but to be fair the stuff i did listen to was a thousand times worse no doubt.

One of my Favorite bands ever is Rotting Christ, their music is definitely great, it gets me all pumped.
I have the name of my favorite albums but I can't seem to remember at this time.
I really do enjoy most of their music.

I actually generally like wanky tech death people put down on but I generally like it a lot more wankygrind than the melodic type deal this is. stuff like bedlam of cacophony. I am okay with melodic parts here and there in tech death but it usually works better for me if it is extremely abrasive and AWFSDGSDFGSDFGDFGSDFHDF.

also when do the blastbeats in this song stop!!?

Haha yeah, I get what you mean. That song is actually kinda static compared to some of their other stuff, some of it is pretty creative in my opinion. Once I get the chance to find a song like that, I'll edit it into this post.

Dunno if this could be considered metal, i think it's alternative metal. Well, I like it.

This one's probably closer to metal.
