Mekong Delta have some real cool stuff, and mid-era (around Escalation) Necronomicon is awesome as ♥♥♥♥. Protector is good if you're into Death/Thrash.
Then there are numerous Blackened Thrash Metal bands from Germany that are awesome like Desaster,Nocturnal,Cruel Force,Ketzer etc.

New Isis has been pretty unremarkable. Celestial and Panopticon were very good but the intensity kind of died out afterwards, as did a lot of the coherence and intelligent song structures. Can't say I'm... well, at all interested in whatever else they might be doing.

Not a big fan of either, but as a Thomas Erak fanboy I do have a certain level or respect for the Deftones since he loves them so much. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it. eric is just mad because I ate all the chunky's chicken

Been on a Swedeath binge the last couple of days. I've had Grave, Dismember, Entombed, Ribspreader, Edge of Sanity, Unleashed, Pestilence (okay, not Swedish but still) on constant rotation for hours on end with no sign of slowing down. It's been a while since I've listened to metal for so long at once. More suggestions are welcome to keep things going - at this rate I'll run out of albums within a few days.

big fan of Portal. Binging on their discog pretty hard. First thing I ever saw of them was this
and I wasn't entirely convinced they even knew how to play instruments, but after listening to more stuff I'm sold. This video
is one of the coolest ♥♥♥♥ing things I have ever seen in my life and they have converted me to fanboyism. Before I didn't know if I was even listening to songs but now I am convinced it's basically masterfully crafted chaos and I'm totally gay for it
