Re: Pretty effin metal in here, eh? - Official Metal/Punk Thread

Dunno if this could be considered metal, i think it's alternative metal. Well, I like it.

This one's probably closer to metal.

Could some one recommend me some power metal please? If it helps at all, I like Blind Guardian, Alestorm, Amon Amarth, Ensiferum and Swashbuckle. I've seen people call Flogging Molly power metal before as well. If you consider them such, I like them as well.

Went through a long period of time where I neglected listening to anything from the heavier genres, but I've been listening to CPC Gangbang's Mutilation Nation on and off for a few weeks. Pretty sweet Montreal garage punk.

Re: Pretty effin metal in here, eh? - Official Metal/Punk Thread

the reason why all djent seemingly sounds the same is because of the very narrow origin of influences. It all pretty much comes from Meshuggah in the end. Sure there are some bands here and there like Textures which added a bit of their own touch but by far most of the defining elements of djent can be traced to meshuggah.

Death metal had many more different direct influences and pioneers. NYDM has taken a lot of from NYHC, Swedish death metal from d-beat/crust, dutch death metal from Celtic Frost.
Nothing similar at all happened with Djent.

But you need to remember its harder to develop the sound of a specific scene these days. The internet connects all and this is also very apparent in the current ongoing new wave of old school death metal. Horrendous one of the bands from this movement combines the sound of dutch, swedish and floridan death metal. Cosmic Atrophy combined Timeghoul and Demilich. These days a band uploads a few mp3's on myspace and people on the other side of the globe will hear it and maybe get influenced by this. I think this is also apparent with metalcore and deathcore. Other than european bands of both sounding more metal than the american and british i dont hear any other regional variation and for this i simply blame the internet.

eh, im not talking about such things.
In every proper scene there are a lot more differences than just production etc.

I'm a die hard metal fan! I love the other styles as well, but metal (all kinds of) is Definitely my fav.
My fav band is Linkin Park. They're just O.O perfect to me :3
Other band I like are In Flames, Dead by April, All That Remains... and many more . Nuff said ^^

I thought he was an awesome cake already having played Dracula, Dooku and Saruman. Not to mention his voice. But hearing him sing with it was just the icing and cherry on top

Kinda pumped for the new faceless album. Apparently it leaked though? I don't feel like looking for it right now, I'll probably just wait until it comes out.

Re: Pretty effin metal in here, eh? - Official Metal/Punk Thread

So i now own the following:
The Hellwell album.
Demilich - Nesphite
Ulcerate - Everything is Fire
Hawkwind - Hall of the mountain grill.

Hellwell is a sideproject of mark the shark shelton. It sounds like manilla road but with organ. Its better than playground id say.
Listening to the rip of Nesphite right now. Its surprising how much better it sounds lossless vs mp3's.
Ulcerate is really cool gorgutsian death metal.
Hawkwind is space rock.

Dethklok - I Ejaculate Fire by Williams Street Records on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

New Dethklok song from Dethalbum III.

I like it. Standard dethklok, melodic death metal with funny lyrics.
