Anyone here like his
real music and not just his stupidly-****ing-popular, over-promoted singles?
Tomorrow is Today is his best work in my opinion. He has close to 200 recorded songs however, and so very many of them are absolutely phenomenal. Of distinct note is his classical work in 2001- Fantasies and Delusions. It's so refreshing to hear Romantic-Classical era music from a "pop-indie" icon.
Other specific songs of note that are absolutely excellent (in chronological order):
She's Got a Way
Everybody Love You Now
Why Judy Why
Falling of the Rain
You Look so Good to Me
Nocturne
Got to Begin Again
Rosalinda
Travelin' Prayer
You're My Home
Ballad of Billy the Kid
Worse Comes to Worst
Stop in Nevada
Somewhere Along the Line
Rootbeer Rag
Great Suburban Showdown
Los Angelenos
Roberta
Streetlife Serenader
The Mexican Connection
Last of the Big Time Spenders
Souvenir
Summer, Highland Falls
Miami 2017
I've Loved These Days
Handball
Scenes from an Italian Restaurant
Vienna
She's Always a Woman
Get it Right the First Time
Everybody Has a Dream
Honesty
Zanzibar
Stiletto
Rosalinda's Eyes
Half a Mile Away
Until the Night
52nd Street
And those are just his pre-1980 albums. I've bolded my favorites, check them out if you
really like Billy Joel.
