Billy Joel

Hello Everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone here liked Billy Joel. Im 19 and find his music amazing. Not many people my age really appreciate this musical genuis. So any other Billy Joel fans here? If so why do you like his music? What turned you on to his music in the first place? Ever seen him in concert? Have you seen Movin out on broadway? Whats your favorite/least favorite song? or anything else you want to discuss. ANd if uve never really listend to him try lisiting to some of his music and let me know what you think.

I grew up listening to Billy Joel. My mother simply loves him, so I heard his music all the time. I still really enjoy his music, it reminds me so much of being a little kid. I always loved "River of Dreams" when I was a kid, so I guess I'd say that's my favorite. Really though, I love a lot of them.

My favorite album is probably Cold Spring Harbor or Streetlife Serenade.

I really like him. A lot of people don't i don't know why.
I really appreciate his song writing and piano ability.

The funny thing is ive never actually met anyone who has listen to billy joel and thought he sucked. I mean sure not everyone is a fan, but everyone i met has agreed the man has musical talent even if the music isnt thier style.

I love Billy Joel. So much of my iPod is stuffed with him I think my favorite is either "And so it goes" or "She's got a way." Most of his music I enjoy. The rest I really enjoy Oh Piano Man (the song not the album) is another one of my favorites. It really makes me wish I could play the piano. Well read sheet music so I could play the piano.

I like Billy Joel. His music is great. I grew up with his music. I am 19 as well and you're right. Average 19 year olds are already gangsters in some neighborhoods and listening to crap. I for one am still a fan of great music like Michael Jackson, Elton John, Billy Joel, Madonna (on occasions) etc.

I love Billy Joel's music. Let me see...the song that probably got me into his music was Piano Man. That's also probably my favorite. Here's a list of the songs I like by him:

Anyone here like his real music and not just his stupidly-****ing-popular, over-promoted singles?

Tomorrow is Today is his best work in my opinion. He has close to 200 recorded songs however, and so very many of them are absolutely phenomenal. Of distinct note is his classical work in 2001- Fantasies and Delusions. It's so refreshing to hear Romantic-Classical era music from a "pop-indie" icon.

We Didnt Start The Fire is one of my favorite songs ever. I havent heard it in years but i loved it. I also loved Philadelphia.

I have heard some of the songs in which you listed Andy, but obviously not as much or as often as the ones I mentioned in my first post. Thanks for compiling that entire list though, I'll definitely have to check out more of Billy Joel's music - I truly am a fan!
