Most people who have seen that have reacted very positively to his casting, so that's a plus (he's also in Never Let Me Go, which is also in theatres right now).
It's also been reported that the role of Mary Jane Watson has been offered to Emma Stone, she of Superbad, Zombieland and most recently Easy A fame.
Finally, there are rumours swirling that the role of Gwen Stacy has been offered to Glee's Dianna Agron. I haven't been able to find any definitive word on if this is actually the case. It has also sparked speculation that Gwen will be the main love interest for Peter in the first movie, and MJ will then take over for the sequels. |
Mmmmm... Diana Argon
But I am pretty excited for this reboot. Nolan brings good news about the director. I loved
500 Days of Summer, and I feel like he'd make a good transition into the spider-man series.
Andrew Garfield seems to resemble a young Peter Parker, good casting there.
I've only seen him in
Dr. Parnassus, but he doesn't seem terrible.
Also, Emma Stone would make a good younger Mary Jane.
I'm quite impressed with the casting to say the least.
