[Movie] The Amazing Spider-Man

For those asking about how they are creating the Lizard: Ifans wore one of those silly-looking body suits with all the white balls on him for motion-capture, so the CGI to make him look all lizardy replicates everything down to his eye movements and facial expressions. It's all Ifans, they originally were going to use a larger double but Webb and Ifans overruled it.

No way of knowing how they are going to deal with the character, but the most fascinating part of his story is the Jekyll/Hyde thing he has going on. I'm hoping for a downhill struggle against succumbing to the cold-blooded monster within, so we see him become less and less human and more and more savage as the film moves on.

I hope they don't do what they did with every damn villain in the first series. Ie. kill him off.

Or pull a Doc Oc, and make him seem really cool at the end, and still kill him off.

Huh. Interesting change for Captain Stacy. Originally he was supportive of Spiderman in the comics. Here, he's campaigning against him

I'm looking forward to it. At the very least it will be better than Spider-Man 3 (but then again anything (except for the Schumacher Batman films and Battlefield Earth) is better than Spider-Man 3). Although I am a bit iffy on if they can pull the Lizard off well... From what I hear he doesn't look that convincing.

I saw the new trailer today and was surprised that it was so good. I may just see this movie yet.

I don't see why everyone is so surprised this was going to be good? I mean it has an great cast of actors that can actually act (Look me in the face and tell me that Tobey Maquire is an amazing actor), and it's great that Andrew Garfield finally has a great vehicle like this, he's an amazing actor (same with Emma Stone but to a lesser extent) who has been mainly in really great indie or smaller films. And the director is also pretty good too (he directed the excellent 500 Days of Summer)

I don't know, I liked the last 3 that came out. [Not talking about Nolan's which I lovw btw]

I don't know why things can't stay true to their original sources.
