Huh. Interesting change for Captain Stacy. Originally he was supportive of Spiderman in the comics. Here, he's campaigning against him

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I'm looking forward to it. At the very least it will be better than Spider-Man 3 (but then again anything (except for the Schumacher Batman films and Battlefield Earth) is better than Spider-Man 3). Although I am a bit iffy on if they can pull the Lizard off well... From what I hear he doesn't look that convincing.

I saw the new trailer today and was surprised that it was so good. I may just see this movie yet.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I don't see why everyone is so surprised this was going to be good? I mean it has an great cast of actors that can actually act (Look me in the face and tell me that Tobey Maquire is an amazing actor), and it's great that Andrew Garfield finally has a great vehicle like this, he's an amazing actor (same with Emma Stone but to a lesser extent) who has been mainly in really great indie or smaller films. And the director is also pretty good too (he directed the excellent 500 Days of Summer)

I don't know, I liked the last 3 that came out. [Not talking about Nolan's which I lovw btw]

I don't know why things can't stay true to their original sources.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Hmmm...I'm on the fence.

One thing for certain - from the trailer, I very much do not like the way they're trying to portray Peter as an anti-heroic lonerwolf. It portrays him as somewhat, for lack of a better description, a mild-mannered Wolverine in the making. Which isn't Peter at all. And I know people will bring up the argument that being a well-intentioned geek doesn't define Peter; but the fact is that it does.

I respect the fact this is a reboot and seemingly seems to take inspiration from the Ultimate series, but still; Peter in a Badass sort of light and portrayal feels really alien and unusual for me.

That said, I'm a fan of organic web production but think the web shooters here look amazing. The device looks sleek, retro and intriguing and whoever had the idea to make the red light flash for each shot was a genius. Was such a small thing, but adds a lot!

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I love the Ultimate series and think that they did well with Peter. Geeky but badass.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

The Ultimate canon was a fantast5ic re-interpretation from what I've read. I've only followed Ultimate X-Men though in that series. Was fantastic up until the mid-point of publication. No idea whose fantastically poor idea it was for that global catastrophe end.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I liked the Ultimate comics, I just thought Spidey was REALLY annoying in them. I hope they don't make him that annoying in the movie.

Then Spider-Man wouldn't be in the Avengers movie.

No, then spiderman would be in the avengers. He's not because marvel is doing that movie, whereas Sony has the rights to spiderman on the big screen.

This, and also the Lizard looks lame, as I've said before. But other than that, yeah it's not bad at all.

You liked Batman Forever and Batman and Robin? Those are considered to be two of the worst films of all time... (And they are). And they strayed as far from the original source as possible. We haven't got one live action Batman movie thats been anywhere close to the original source but BF and B&R are the farthest from it.

No... Then he would be in the Avengers... The whole reason this movie got rushed into production was because Sony was about to lose the rights to Spider-Man and didn't want them to go to Marvel so they can have him in Avengers.
