No more Mirage comic, Turtles Forever is probably in even deeper ♥♥♥♥ of getting released, and now Nickelodeon owns everything about the franchise ever ruining the chances of the upcoming movie being an actual well-produced Batman Begins style revamp of the series. RIP previous TMNT ownership.
Well, I think this does blow out the opportunity for another live action movie.
But that being said, with Nick owning them now, they should become a little easier to come by. I haven't seen anything on the turtles in years, witht the exeption of the TMNT movie.
No, it doesn't blow out the opportunity. The thing is, Mirage the company that owned TMNT was going to make a new movie in the franchise, possibly using the same people who worked on the puppetry of Where the Wild Things Are for the movie (although that was only in rumor or say-so seemingly). The movie is still being produced, just now under Nickelodeon, a Nickelodeon Film.
TMNT has been active for a while...especially with the upcoming Turtles Forever that was SUPPOSED to come out fairly soon from 4kids, a crossover animated movie of the 2003 series and the 1980's series, plus the ongoing cartoon (which has gone downhill) plus the video games released recently and the one coming out for the DS, this was a rather horrible time for Nick to basically cancel all of those projects out which they most likely will. Also the Mirage comic series isn't finished either.
Im waiting to see how it goes. Hopefuly 4kids won't have a hand in this as well. Nickelodeon has produced stuff like the avatar and stuff, so Im hoping it will be like as well recognized as the first time it was put on, as well as good as the oldest new one out there.
