A Grecian Family Reunion (Altamira)

OoC: Alrighty then! Lets get this RP started! Yes, I know it is short.

BiC:A man shuddered and clutched his cloak closer to his body, thinking how odd it was that he was shivering during a hot summer day. In fact, several people in the town had been experiencing the same thing, but had no idea why. Children that were previously playing in the street grew silent and began to cry, suddenly overcome by an incredible feeling of death and sadness. Old men and women in a nearby hospital had their lifespan shortened by decades, a few of them dying immediately of massive organ failure. The people that survived went about their day as usual; unaware that one of the most powerful beings in the world had caused all of this by simply walking past them on his way to the beach.

The invisible demon stood on the beach, staring into the ocean.

“Hello brother, long time no see,” the demon said in a deep and menacing voice.

“Ah, Hades, what do you want from me?” replied a booming voice that came from the depths of the ocean.

“What makes you think I want something? I can’t visit my little brother every once in a while?” the lord of the Underworld answered.

“Then why have you contacted me?” asked Poseidon.

“I have come to tell you about something important. As you know, I have a son, normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but lately I have noticed a rapid increase in his power. I want you to help me find out more about him so I can tell if he will become a threat to me,” Hades replied.

“And why would I waste my time doing you a favor?”

“Just get someone else to do it, as long as someone is spying on the boy,” Hades answered.

“Very well brother, I will help you, but you owe me one,” Poseidon replied, he already had an idea as to who he would choose to help.

Hades turned around and opened a portal back to the underworld, an evil grin on his face as he stepped back into the portal, closing the gateway to Hell before anyone could see it.

I walked down the dirt road, searching for a place to find some water. I had been walking for hours, my thirst growing with every step. Eventually I came across a river and ran toward it, looking forward to taking a long drink of cool refreshing water. I pulled my hood off of my head and dunked my head into the stream getting several large mouthfuls of water before coming back up and putting my hood back on.

I yawned and looked at the river, my thirst quenched. As I looked at the river I saw something odd on the surface. I walked along the river’s edge to get a closer look. It was too far away to tell what exactly was floating in the water, but it appeared to be a large paintbrush of some sort. I could also see a figure standing on the water, bending down to pick it up.

I decided to get a closer look at this person, hoping that a closer look would explain how the person didn’t just sink into the water. I melted into the shadows and moved closer to the mysterious person.

It had been the happiest day she'd experienced in years.

The Lord of the Sea had many offspring, many of them formidable deities in their own right. He had a veritable sea of loyal minions and messengers that would do his bidding for just a glance thrown their way. But, of all those people, he had chosen her. Chosen her, and confirmed her hopes and beliefs more soundly than anything else could.

She was Poseidon's daughter, and he finally cared about her.

The message had come by the clouds; a sweet rain had fallen upon a dried-up spring she was striving to revive, and she hadn't called for it. The prayers she held tightly in her heart but never spoke aloud were answered, and rumbling gray clouds had rolled over the skyscape, taking the form of mighty tridents as they unleashed a rejuvenating deluge of blessed rain. This was a god's peace offering; a display of benevolence that stated the deity was willing to work with a being if they would enter into an agreement with them and do as they asked. And Ancia answered in kind, bowing to show the being's willingness to comply and defer to the god.

That was when he appeared before her, materializing from the very storm clouds he had brought.

"Daughter."

A simple word, but charged with so much emotion.

Rivulets of tears mixed with the rain flowing down Ancia's cheeks at the sight of him. She couldn't summon words, but she nodded her acknowledgment.

"It has been long since my eyes have fallen upon you; you are still the dainty little nymph I held in my arms on that most dark of days. And now, here I come to you, asking you to do me a favor without a ready apology."

She wanted to tell him that all of that didn't matter now, that she didn't care so long as he wouldn't abandon her again, but she was moved beyond speech. She nodded again.

"The Lord of the Dead has requested something of me, and as his brother, it is expected of me to oblige. I, however, do not have time for the task he has set me upon, and so...I have come to you."

The nymph gave another wordless nod.

"Hades has a son, a cousin of sorts to you, that he wishes for us to observe and study. The reasons for this are irrelevant--merely find the boy and take note of everything you can. After you feel you have sufficient information, report back to me and your hands will be clean of the whole matter."

"I-I will."

The god's expression softened at the nymph's voice. "I...believe you will do well in this task, my daughter. I was right to come to you."

As she smiled in response, a warmth, like an embrace from the storm winds, blew by her and Poseidon disappeared.

Balanced on the delicate surface of the water, Ancia watched as her cousin approached her, neither recoiling away nor moving closer towards him. He moved through the shadows swiftly, and within moments, the two relatives were standing face to face.

Softly, the nymph said, "Hello."

OoC: I know it sucks and is short, but as I said earlier, my family killed my CJs.

BiC: I stood in front of the nymph with an expression of confusion on my face. Her voice was almost melodic and hearing it soothed me, almost making me forget about what was going on around me. She appeared to be one with the stream, her turquoise skin and hair matched the color of the waters.

“Hello, my name is Keldar. Who are you?” I asked the nymph.

“My name is Ancia, I have been sent by Poseidon to aid you in your journeys,” she replied.

I couldn’t help but feel that this was a lie, but for some reason I trusted the stranger. Perhaps it was because she reminded me so much of a young child; she seemed unaware as to what lies were.

“Why would the god of the sea send you to do this? I do not require help in my travels,” I said calmly.

The nymph looked surprised at my question and I could tell that she was debating whether or not to answer me. Silence followed my question and lingered in the air for several minutes before I grew impatient.

“Are you going to answer me?” I asked.
