Bury Me In Black (Sorelu Amil)

The flash of flames and the loud boom of auras clashing could be seen only to those in the Void. It was only the Heiress, and what existed to her as a wandering deity beyond any knowledge that she posessed. Its properties puzzled the young woman, as well as its origin. But there was no time to ponder, for it was most certainly intent on destroying her. From what she could observe, there was no weakness in it--but everything had gone by so fast, that there was no real time. It was just an endless chasm. Everything around them was a celestial flame, which licked at her skin with scorching kisses.

This was the place between worlds, where nothingness existed, and nothing more. It was hard to say how she was caught in this place, for the speed of the first blow caused her to become delirious. Everything from there seemed as though it didn't matter, as if it would go on forever.

Darkness enveloped the empyreal glow of the flames, extinguishing them in a moment's time. The burst of onyx blood that splattered across the transluscent being's embodiment caused the dark eyes of the young woman to widen, for the pain that came with it threw her in complete shock. Her body locked up, which gifted her more gashes across her stomach and a rain of icy slivers. The blood continued to be spilt upon the deity, its resonant metallic roar causing a tremor to run through the demoness' form.

Her body was thrown about like a ragdoll, slammed into abysmal surfaces that couldn't possibly exist. Bones were broken, and flesh was ripped, the energy which kept her body functioning eroding as time passed. Major blood loss was taking place, and regardless of the pace of their creation, there was hardly any energy left in her body for them to successfully keep to the equilibrium.

The surface of her eyes was consumed by darkness, one last blast of energy breaking her out of the Void and into some foreign realm.

As soon as her aura broke through the resistive barrier which protected the realm, her miasma was released in a large cloud. It billowed about her, reaching out with twitching tendrils of the noxious mist to smoothly run across all that it touched. It curled around her, a soft, hiss-like purr softly emanating from the strange cloud.

The surrounding area was an exuberant grove, the trees encompassed by an ethereal glow that gave off a light-blue light. Her body, however, was masked in the cool shade. She had fallen through many layers of branches, any life that had thrived within the treetops long-gone. Her presence was a large disturbance, and even the trees could feel the pure evil which radiated from her.

And as her consciousness slowly drained away, the distant sound of panicked voices echoed through her mind like multiple bursts of sound down an endless tunnel.

Several Elves looked on in horror as their sacred forest was tainted to the point of death. Angry shouts aroused from some of the males, female sobs could be heard as their children wandered into the venomous cloud. Every militia in the small town hastily gathered swords and bows as scouts leaped from tree to tree with astounding speed and control. They were all hoping to bring the message to their king in the distant city of Ingfi.

Sorelu passed several eager young scouts wishing to become part of the royal army his pace became swifter and swifter as he felt part of his forest die, it felt like a part of him died for each tree that fell.

As Sorelu exited his palace a fierce wind whipped at his cloak from behind as it lifted him off the ground. The Elf closed his eyes and looked into his mind for the precise location of the deathly aura. The wind shifted to his right as he pinpointed the area of chaos.

After a short flight he saw just how disgusting the destruction was. With a few choice swear words he blew the miasmic cloud away with his wind. With a scowl he ordered all the militia in the town to stand down and calm their wives and mourn for their children.

Sorelu approached the source of the evil cloud wondering just what could reap so much havoc in his sacred realm. He saw a pale girl, with deep gashes digging into her stomach and sides, her face bloodied with thick, black blood. She was obviously unconscious. There was something strikingly odd about this scene though… First of all her cloak was not scathed, nor her sword. Second there was no trail of destruction; it was very isolated as if it had just appeared there.

Sorelu looked past the blood and saw a strange woman. Was she a demon; a vampire, perhaps? She shared characteristics of both. With his curiosity getting the best of him, he picked her up and quickly teleported with her back to his palace.

Out of panic, the militia ignored their orders and went to kill the defiler of their forest, their steps rustling the leaves as they snuck up on the source of the infestation. Their eyes widened as they saw their king teleport away with a nearly dead girl. Their king had betrayed them. The Elves’ eyes narrowed and their brows furrowed with anger. How could their benevolent king, who lifted humans from their realm, who lead and won many wars for them, be saving a demon? A powerful one at that.

Alarms sounded in Ingfi as news reached the leaders of each military barracks, they had learned of the betrayal of their King. Their armies were assembling; they wanted answers.

Sorelu gently placed the demoness on a bed in a well lit and furnished room. He told some of his personal healers to tend to her and see if she could be helped. He knew from the sound of the alarms that a rebellion was at hand… But for some reason he wasn’t worried.
