The wish of a little girl (Puck)

Cold… so cold, the young girl thought walking through the snow. The wind blew strong through the air, but her white dress didn’t dance along with the wind around her. Rika traveling through the ice-cold snow still searching for her brother and friends. She always felt lonely with her only friend goes off on her own. She was lost in vest whiteness of the land.

She folded her arms across her chest trying to keep whatever warmth she could. While using her power to keep the wind from hitting her already ice cold body. She had heard other story of a man with a bat on his back being in a mountain filled with snow. This had given her hope that was fading everyday that went by in the world. Her brother would be the only family that would want her around though she had never seen him.

“Brother… Please be here,” She said pushing on towards the mountain not being able to feel anything, but the cold bitterness of her skin. Her breathing was shallow and her body wished to pass out. Her will a lone pushed her on towards what she think will be her brother. She stopped looking up and was losing control over the wind.

Rika bumped into what felt like a tree and fell hard into the snow. She glanced up to see a large giant standing in her way. It was just like the people had said to hear, but she seeing him she knew this wasn’t him. “Are you part of the Oni blood line?” she asked, but the monster didn’t answer it just slowly walked away. She got up and ran after it, bur it got farther away from her. “Wait! Wait! Answer me!” She yelled, but nothing came from it.

Rika laid in a grassy field, her body shaking from the strong wind blowing against her. Her dress flapped and danced a long side the wind as she slept. Her bodied curled up in a ball on the small hill over looking nothing, but land. “Brother… come found me…” she mumbled in her she as eyes rolled down her eyes. She was dreaming a sad dream, no filled with loneliness and hopes.

The cool wind swam briskly across the vast grassy field, dancing playfully with anything it could get its hands on. The morning sun grazed over the horizon in a vibrant display of orange, and reds coloring the backs of the pair of street urchins who happened to find themselves walking slowly across the unforgettable landscape. Neither of the pair spoke, for sometimes words would only ruin the moment, but on this morning something else entirely did.

Devin, the male of the pair who stood but an inch shorter then his older friend spotted the girl first. She was laying on the ground her face to the heavens. Her silky dress danced with the wind, as did her shinning black hair. She was lying curled up in a ball atop the small hill that was near the mesial point of the plain. “Hey up there,” He called pointing, and running towards the anomaly atop the hill.

“Wait up!” The young beauty called chasing after her male cohort.

The pair stood on either side of the girl, as she called out in her sleep, Devin with decisively more interest then Cari. “We can’t leave her here” Devin decided kneeling down to get a closer look.

“Sure we can, its not actually that hard,”

“Oh quiet you,” Devin replied with a wave of his hand as he moved pieces of her hair to get a better look at her smooth dark face.

“Devin,” Cari said compassionately, in semblance to an angel, “We don’t know who she is, she could be dangerous…we should go,”

“I’m not leaving her, she might be in trouble,”

“Exactly why we should go, we don’t need anymore trouble the necessary,”

“Stop being a worrier, I’m sure we aren’t going to die from helping her,”

“You don’t know for sure, its best to play it safe,”

“Play it safe?…that’s not like you, usually you don’t care about safety.”

“Is it so wrong for me not to want you to get hurt,”

“Uhhh…” Suddenly the body moved slightly. The girl’s eyes fluttered open to see two strange people staring over her body in what appeared to be a heated argument…”Who are you?”

Rika could hear the voices of the two fighting, and she felt tired. She didn’t know how long she had been asleep, but those two woke her with their fighting. She slowly glanced up still not getting a responds to her question. She rubs her eyes a bit and wiped the little dirt from her face. She saw the young boy first standing next to her. Rika slowly turned over to see other girl on the other side of her. Both of them looked about the same young that she was herself.

“Why are you two fighting?” the young girl asked being up from the ground. The wind blew strong and since Rika’s hair and dress flying toward the two. They both stopped and looked back down at the young girl wake holding her dress from getting blown by the wind.

“Great you woke her up!” Cari yelled back at Devin.

“Are you okay?” Devin asked bent down looking at Rika. The wind begun to die down and could see her whole face. Rika just nodded to the boy’s question confused at what was going on. “Can you talk?” He asked after only getting a nod to his first question. Rika just nodded again glancing up at Cari that seem to be in a back mood. “Hmm… What your name? I’m Devin.”

Rika didn’t answer right away as she kept glancing back between the two. She was trying to understand why they were over top of her fighting. She moved her hand behind her and pushed up off the ground and stood up. “Rika…,” She said her voice hinting that she was confused.

“Are you lost Rika?” Devin asked showing his interest in why she was out in the middle of nowhere.

“She fine Devin. Lets go already.” Cari snapped at Devin.

Rika shook her head to the question not giving the answer in word. She begun to look around the flied for something at seem to be missing. “Where did she go now? Oh. Umm… Why was you two fighting over me?” she asked wanting to get her confusion out of the way quickly.

“Fighting?….We weren’t fighting…we were…uhhh…discussing…”

“Loudly,” Cari finished rolling her eyes.

“Seems like a silly thing to do…” Rika said slowly, “I’m Rika, but you can call me Ume, nice to meet ya.” The girl said extending her light brown arm.

“…Uh hi there,” Devin said taking the handshake, as Cari merely look at the pair with her arms crossed.

“This is the part you say your name…”

“Ohh yeah, I’m Devin,” Devin said energetically.

“Cari,” She replied coldly, something about the girl turned her off.

“Its not safe for a girl like you to be out here alone, we should at least escort you too the next town,”

“Its fi…” Rika started before Devin cut her off.

“I insist, lets go,” Devin lightly grabbed the girls arms, and tugged her forward, not being one argue with an act of kindness Ume silently agreed and started walking with the boy, leaving Cari behind.

“Huh wait for me…” Cari ran towards the two, slowing down, and walking behind them. I don’t trust this girl, she is just randomly sleeping on a hillside, something must be up, Losing herself for a second Cari looked up to see the enigmatic girl trip slightly over a rock, but before she fell Devin carefully grabbed her, and helped the girl back to her feet And what’s with Devin giving her so much attention, what am I invisible.

“So how far is the next town,” The girl asked politely.

“Uhh itss….ummm….let me think,”

“Twenty eight miles,” Cari finished.

“I knew that”

“Course,”

“That should take us to near night fall,” The male vagabond said looking towards the girl, “If we hurry that is,”

“You really don’t have too…”

“We where heading this way anyways, its only polite,” Devin said with a small smile.

What’s her angle Cari thought to herself making sure to keep in pace with the pair in front of her.

Rika wasn’t sure what the deal was between the boy and the girl, but she felt as if Cari didn’t like her. She glanced back at Cari only to feel like she was giving her a cold stare. Rika looked forwarded quickly wonder if it was a good idea to listen to Devin. Though, she was happy and had a smile on her face she couldn’t help, but worry about Cari. “Are you ok walking behind us? We could slow down for you to keep up Cari,” Rika said wanting to try and make friend with both of them.

“She fine back there I’m sure.”

“Yeah, but… I guess you would know,” Rika replied back not really able to fight with he reason. After all he know her better then Rika did.

Cari didn’t seem to pay the two any mind or heard and word they said. Every once in a while she glanced up to make sure they was still there.

“So, Rika what are you doing out here. I mean you said you wasn’t lost,” Devin asked turning his head to look at her.

“Well…” Rika begun wondering if her only reason for being out here was really ever going to happen. “I have no home to go back to so I’m looking for my brother.”

“Was it attacked or something?”

“No… nothing like that. I was kicked out like. Mom told me that I had to found my brother, but I think she just didn’t want me around anymore. I seemed to caused her way of living a lot of trouble some how,” she said skipping parts that she didn’t want them to know about. She felt they didn’t needed to know she was a half demon.

“So you are a lone?”

“No. I think you scared off Arika when you came near me. That, or she flew off somewhere again. Her and me are really good friend since she also got kicked out of her village. You most likely wouldn’t notice her since she really small winged elf,” Rika really smiling as her thought about all the fun she has when Arika around her. “What about you?”

[Puck]

“You mean why are we out here?”

“Yeah.”

“Well…umm…a little over a year ago…The village we lived in…got attacked…and…uhhh…” Devin stuttered helplessly over his words, but not being one who liked to share those particular memories. Choking up Cari being the observant girl she is, noted his distress, and took her time to step in on the other side of the girl they where escorting.

“During the attack Devin saw…his…mother get taken away, and vowed to bring get her back. We met up outside the village gates, and I decided to help him, and here we are.”

“Wow…that must have been hard for you,” The small half demon said putting a caring hand on the shoulder of the young boy, and subsequently received a barrage of glares from the girl on her other side.

“ye…yeah…” Devin said looking at the ground kicking up some dust, “But it’s ok, well find her, me and Cari. I just know,” Devin said looking up slightly with a small smile on his face.

“So you and Cari are…well are you…uhhh” The small girl in the flowing white dress started, as she obliviously slowed her pace, “Well are you going out….”

“Huh, What does that mean,” Devin said turning his head to look at Rika tilting his head slightly.

“I mean is she your…uhh…Girlfriend…”

“NO! I mean…no…she’s not,” The wide eyed, red faced Devin said fast before returning to his normal speaking, and heartbeat pace, “That is…what ever gave you that idea…”

“And why is it any business of yours,” Cari said narrowing her eyes, and fiddling with her bo-staff at her side.

“Oh…sorry…I just thought you two…well from the description I just figured because your so close, sorry if it was overstepping my boundaries…I didn’t mean anything by…sorry…”

“Its ok,,” Devin said lifting her chin up with one of his fingers, “I was just a little surprised at the question. Anyways lets take a break, I’m hungry!”

Rika still down look at the ground even though Devin lifted her head up. She felt a little better that he wasn’t mad, but she couldn’t help it. She glanced up at Devin seeing a smile before he turned around. A smile slowly came back to her face as she followed Devin down the hill. She could see that he was heading towards and few trees. “Where are you going?” Rika called out trying to catch up with Devin. She then remembered about Cari and turned around to she her running beside her. “Oh. I thought we left you.”

“To get something to eat!” Devin yelled back way ahead of the girls.

“Why are you being so nice to us?” Cari asked glaring at Rika.

“What?” Rika asked in shock.

“You heard me!” Cari yelled back jumping in front of Rika way. Rika quickly stopped before she ran into Cari.

“Well… Because Devin wanted to help me and he seemed nice,” she said smiling putting her hands behind her back. “Is there something wrong with being nice to people?”

“Why?”

“I guess because I want a friend and you two come. Don’t you want to be friends with me?” Rika answered looking somewhat confused. “Well you don’t have to answer that. I think we should get going though.” Rika finished walking around Cari and running down to Devin.

“What took you?”

“Nothing. I had to slow down because I’m not use to run that fast for so long,” She lied looking at all the different fruits in the trees.

“Where Cari?” Devin asked noticing she wasn’t around.

“She coming,” Rika replied point towards Cari coming behind her. “So, this is what you came down here for?”

"Yep," the energetic boy said as he sat atop of one of the many fruite trees, with a giant smile across his face. Then with one swift movement he fell backwars out of the tree hooking his legs so he was hanging upside down, then flip from there onto his feet, landing softly on the ground fruite still in hand. handing Rika the fruite he took off his backpack, and took out a smalltattered cloth and laid it on the ground motioning for Rika to put the fruit down.

"So we're going to eat now?" Rika said putting the food down, and sitting crosslegged on the ground beside the tan piece of cloth.

"Yep," Devin said cheerfully, "As soon as Cari gets here." The aformentioned girl almost instantly appeared making her way slowly to the makeship picnic, making sure to sit as far away from the halfdemon as possible. The meal itself was fairly uneventfull, and went byn without much conversation, though it should be noted that Cari keapt an accusing eye on Rika at all times. After the meal the trio packed up, and went on there way, this time taking a short cut through the woods, unaware that the sun had already almost fallen from the sky.

"Huh..." Devin said as his foot tripped over something that seemed to whimper. Looking down he saw the strangest cat he'd ever seen. Its backwas different color's of blue, and his stomach was gray, the stranget thing of all was the cats gray eyes, they looked almost human. With a pur the cat rubbed itself against Devin's leg afectionletly.

"Looks like you have an admirer," Rika chirrped cheerfully, causeing Cari to shoot her a glare before looking down at the small cat.

"Well we can't let this poor thing wander around all by its lonesome," Devin said as picked up the small kitten, and placed it on his shoulder, where it seemed to fall asleep between Devin's sholderblades. "..."

"Cute...now we should hurry," Cari said motioning for the trio to start moving again obviously not wanting to send anymore time with Rika then nececcary.

Night had fallen, an the group was still trecking their way through the dense lush forest, with Cari pushing them forward as the others wanted to make camp for the night. The forest seemed deathly quote at that point, the only noises where the mismatched footsteps of the kids, making there way. Of suddenly or so it seemed a small twig snapped, and while none of the kids noticed, the kitten woke up from Devin's shoulders with a hiss.

"Huh, whats the matter boy," the cat of course only hissed again jumping off his shoulder, and running into the forest. A second later the cat flew from the forest landing by Devin's feet. The three looked down, and when the looked up they saw a black cloaked teenager with three claw marks on his face dripping with fresh blood.

"That cats smarter then you," The young man said in a low voice, "We would have taken you out one by one," As if on cue two more teenagers, one was a stocky male, andother a tale female came out of the woods.

"What do you want with us, we've done nothing wrong,"

"Nothing indeed, tresspassing on our land," The stocky one said laughing

"Its not your land!" Cari shouted reaching for her bow.

"You've got quite a toung there, how about I cut it out," The tall female replied.

'Don't touch her," Devin instinctivly stepped one foot in front of Cari, his blade already draw, "Just go away, we don't any trouble,"

"Odd because we do," The tall one twith the blood on his face smiled as he drew his sword -A sctratched up longsword, that appeared to have been stolen from some sort of noble-, "Fancy blade child, but you can't expect to take us all on, just surrender,"

Turning to face the one he assumed was the leader he pointed his blade at the man, "You think your so tough, attacking kids in the middle of night,"

"Face the facts boy, you can't take us all on,"

"Well I can damn well try,"

"Your funeral," Taking the moment the leader slashed down hard to where Devin was standing, but it hit nothing but the ground sticking into it for a split second giving Devin a chance to strike, he aimed high for the right shoulder trying to disarm the man, but he leaned his should back causing the rapier to skim atop the man's shoulder drawing a few drops of hot red liquid...

OoC: Sorry if theres alot of spelling mistakes I got a new computer, and i havn't instaled a proper word porcesser yey\t. So yeah just fight them guys, make stuff up if ya want. but Dont hurt my kitty ^_^

OoC: What is this two months later? Next one will be a little faster. For give the lack of good writing I'm since very rusting.

BiC: Rika stood watching how Devin jumped into front and picked the strongest of the three to fight. She really wasn’t in the mood to fight and was planning to wait for Devin to finish them off or need help when something fly towards her. The blade cut through the air fast. Too fast for her to just stop it with her power. Rika quickly moved her head letting the blade glade right pass her face and into a tree. She liked back to see the blade went half way through the tree.

“Little girl you’re not saying too much back there. Why do you run away at least?” The female of the group said taking a step towards Rika. The young half demon just glanced back with her light green eyes.

“Hmm… A fight this late at night,” Youko said licking her lips. She sounded like she was already enjoying herself and she hadn’t even started to fight. “Hmm… It seems that Ume found some friends here too.” Youko glanced around find where Devin and Cari where at. “I’ll make your death slow then.”

A massive gust of wind swirled around Rika body and then it die out. Youko didn’t understand what was happening, but she was losing control of the body. Rika eyes turned back to blue and Ume now glared at the female.

“Is that all you got?” The women said throwing two more blades at Rika. Rika formed a sphere of moving air in front of her blocking the blades and sending them flying into the trees around them.

“You wanted to hurt my friend and you tried hurting me,” she begun sounding very angry. She looked down where the cat stood next to her. She glanced over to see both Cari and Devin where now fighting. “You must pay from your evil!”
