Mind, Body, and Soul. (Oblivion Alliance)

OOC: As promised, here is the latest OA quest. This one’s a bit different, as it will be a bit more focused on the members relations and feelings towards one another, as well as the mysteries of Chovex, Gorin, and White Light.

For timeline’s sakes, I’m guessing the best place for this would be after “Pwn Sin or Die!” and “In This Corner”, yet before “Promethius Zion”.

BIC: Rain poured on a lonely tower. It was rare for it to storm in this area, especially since it was a desert. What was even more surprising was that the rain matched how the only occupant of the tower was feeling at the moment.

In one of the higher rooms a single man sat at a wooden table. In his hand rested a single bottle of whiskey, although several empty ones littered the floor surrounding the table. The man merely stared out the window and occasionally took a sip or two of his drink.

He sighed and set down the bottle, well aware that he was being watched. The neo-echo turned in his wooden chair to find that his domerri servant, Jeorrod, was standing in his doorway. Seeing as he hadn’t called for the domerri, it puzzled Gorin that he was there.

“Master Gorin,” Jeorrod said in his usual bored sounding tone. “Frank has just informed me that Grasthos had a second tower in the making just before he died. Apparently, his last notes concerning Tainted Element and Echo Side are there.”

The Oblivion Master looked down on Jeorrod with his dark yellow eyes. He let out a sigh, which immediately alerted the domerri to his master’s drinking due to the smell of alcohol on his breath. Gorin sat down and wordlessly wrote several letters.

He of course would go to this new location, and he would bring the OA with him. He couldn’t shake off of feeling that not only was something bad going to happen, but that something bad was already beginning to happen somewhere else.

He signed each letter, making sure to create Latio’s with braille dots, and then went over them each in his head before handing them to Jeorrod.

Dear Isis,

Frank and Jeorrod have just informed me that Grasthos had a second lair where he kept his final notes on Tainted Element and Echo Side. Meet me at Grasthos’ old tower. I’m sorry for the relative bluntness of this letter, but I haven’t been feeling well recently.

Sincerely, Gorin.

He pretty much repeated the same thing with each letter, sending copies to Latio and Erebus as well as a few other OA members. He had forgotten to send one to Kain however. Then again, it didn’t matter very much, as the vampire and neo-echo were going to meet again anyways.

OOC: Sorry for the bad quality of this post. I'm a bit sleepy at the moment.

Re: Mind, Body, and Soul. (Oblivion Alliance)

Droz was standing in the highest balcony of the Wood Elfin Castle of Rabana. He usually did this on some cold nights when he wanted to ponder on things of the world that’s he’s seen in the world. Sometimes the dragon would bring some kind of drink. Whiskey, red wine, or scotches were the drinks Droz would bring. This time it was a rather large bottle of red wine. This time on the balcony he was thinking about his relationship with his friend, Rita Longshadow. He’s been playing their time together in his mind. ‘Rita… why does your face play so much mind games. At times…I wish for you to be at my sides at all times, but at others…I couldn’t really care less if you were on the other side of the country which unfortunately, you are now’ Droz thought staring at the sunset, his eyes yearning to see the person he possibly loved. Droz looked down at the ground and saw a man walking towards the door with a letter in his hand. Droz’s eyesight was a little hazy from the red wine, but he could still see and make out who it was and it turns out it was Rayu. The black dragon then sprouted his wings and flew down the castle side and landed right in front of the Wood Elf, startling the teenager.

“S***!” Rayu said as he jumped a little.

“Who’s that letter for?” The dragon asked.

“Us,” Rayu answered. Droz just raised an eyebrow at this.

“What do you mean?”

“Remember that group you, me, and Brolio joined?”

“Yeah,”

“Well…apparently this is from the leader,” Rayu said as he gave the black dragon the letter. Droz looked at the front it said “To the members of the Oblivion Alliance and to them only” The dragon warrior then tossed his wine bottle and was about to open the bottle when Rayu said,

“Wait! Shouldn’t we get Brolio here? After all, he is a member,”

“Good point” Droz said as he stuffed the letter in his coat pocket. He then grabbed Rayu and flew into the air.

They eventually found the water elf and his lover, Tira, walking aside the castle wall. Droz then lower his altitude and was soon on the ground. Brolio and Tira turned around and looked at them.

“Brolio, there’s a meeting we have to get to. It’s about the group we joined together, the Oblivion Alliance, remember?”

“Huh? Brolio, you never told me that you joined a club,” Tira said.

“Yeah well there’s a very good reason for that uh…”

“You’re stalling. Is there something you’re not telling me?”

“N-no, it’s just that the club-” Brolio tried to get the words out, but the Tira turned around and said,

“Was I not good enough for you to tell? You never told you’d tell me the truth about everything after what happened,”

“Look, I’m sorry, but I have to go. I swear, when I get back I’ll tell you every single thing that happened,” Brolio said with his deepest affections for her. She then quickly turned around and kissed Brolio on the cheek. Brolio quickly smiled, but this smile quickly ended.

“I’ll be waiting, but if you don’t tell me everything, I’ll ring all of your necks!” Tira told the men. They all quickly rushed over to Droz then flew away as fast as he could.

OoC: If you guys are interested in what she meant by “what happened” you’ll have to read my fanfic, The Queen of Evil (however I’m not quite there yet).

Re: Mind, Body, and Soul. (Oblivion Alliance)

Ooc: I'll guess i'll join assuminng this is stil going.

Two swords swung agienst a dummy smashing it to peaces. Of course it was just a weak dummy but he hated the fact of how the peaces could burn so easily. He stared at the shreds of the dummy as if it would be engulfed in flames at which point Raid would run. He sighed knowing he'd never be the best if fire would stop him. "Sir." Said a man tapping Raid turned swiftly holding his blades to a man's neck. This man was holding a letter. "Speak your bussines." Raid said. "A letter sir." The man said unphased by the blades not even an inch from his neck. "A letter? From who?" Raid asked. The man smiled dropped the letter and turned. "Your brave walking away from the blade without answering my qestion and dropping my mail." raid said. The man began walking off. He picked up reading it. "Right..the group..and i have no idea who these people are... heh, I guess i'm out the loop." He said to himself droping the letter. He moved stared ahead and flashed of towerds his deastination.

( So far i've been in only 3 battles. not counting this. 2 OA I believe i';ve never got to finish one if this one is finished i'll finish with it. For sure.)

Re: Mind, Body, and Soul. (Oblivion Alliance)

OoC: My first OA thing. Can't wait to get into it.

BiC: Shisho sat, as he normally did, alone. Surrounded by unappreciated books, in a secluded library, on a part of the country no one visited. He was fundamentally alone.

But it didn't bother him. He was secure in his existence, he had a firm grasp on his identity. It was in fact very enjoyable for him to be alone, with nothing more than the paper he loved so much to keep him company.

And yet, even though he enjoyed being alone, he had to wrestle with a painful truth. As long as he was alone, he was nothing. As he he sat, with no others around him, there was no way to determine the difference between himself and nothing.

Shisho sighed, letting the book he was reading fall shut. With a groan, he climbed to his feet, his chair creaking as he removed his weight. After pushing his seat back in, he returned the book to its place on the shelves.

Leaving the library, he thanked the owner of the underground building it was housed in for letting him use it. With a couple uses of Jump, he was back on the beach at the surface. The salty smell of the bay was refreshing.

As he was about to start onto the way back to civilization, something nagged him. He felt something pokeing at his brain. Suddenly, a familiar name came to mind. Gorin, the leader of an organization Shisho had joined, was trying to contact him.

With a slight grin of anticipation, he let himself lean against the doorway he had just come from. Clearing his mind, he could start to hear the words of the one trying to speak to him.

Shisho? the voice said. "You're in him." Shisho replied.

Good, this thing works. Gorin said, Shisho, I'm calling the Oblivion Alliance together. We're gathering at a tower that was once owned by a man named Grasthos. he paused, Do you know where that is?

"No, but I can probably find it." Shisho responded, "Just keep the Gossip Stone close and I can find you." Alright.

With that last word, the Mage popped open his Spell Book. After flipping through a few pages, he came to the spell he wanted. He performed the hand motions, the incantations, and drew the arcane circle in the sand.

Immediately, he felt light as a feather. His mind told him to go east. So he took aim and ran toward his meeting.

OoC: Sorry if that was a little off.

*pokes Mikey* Sheesh, no patience, eh? Fine. I'm here. In other news... http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/mq

Michael Jackson IS cool.

"Pass one down, take it around, only eleventy trillion bottles more to around!!"

The bar was alive with action, most of the action being Erebus getting drunk and acting like an idiot. Boisturous men, red in the face and hiccuping, joined the teen in his inibreated singing. In the corner, the very beautiful foxgirl Naomi sat quietly, sipping her wine, somewhat flush in the face.

Upstairs was Isis, laying down on a musty bed. Ever since her battle with Sin, she hadn't been the same. She was constantly on edge, and felt like there was always someone breathing down her neck. "I just need to get away from those two for a bit," she thought, turning over. "I could try to go see Gorin, but I don't want to annoy him..."

Then Jeorrod appeared out of nowhere. "For you and Erebus" he said simply. Brushing aside a lock of hair, she opened her message.

Dear Isis,

Frank and Jeorrod have just informed me that Grasthos had a second lair where he kept his final notes on Tainted Element and Echo Side. Meet me at Grasthos’ old tower. I’m sorry for the relative bluntness of this letter, but I haven’t been feeling well recently.

Re: Mind, Body, and Soul. (Oblivion Alliance)

OoC: Meh, it's only shy of 450 words, but I didn't have much story to write at this point. I'm sorry for the shortness.

BiC:Light flakes of snow drifted solemnly to the ground as a dark figure trudged through the crisp snow. He walked through the snow occasionally brushing a branch from a fern out from his face. The man had on a long hooded cloak, with his hood currently down. His eyes were a deep blue color, with a reddish tint (if that makes any sense). Wherever he walked, there was stillness. The trees didn’t rustle, the animals didn’t breathe; the figure was ominous and carried a freezing wherever he went.

This man is named Kain.

Kain had been getting tired of all the hustle and bustle of the dome and had just said “screw it” and decided he needed a vacation. Why did he choose a semi-secluded mountain covered with snow? Well, he was a vampire, and he wasn’t exactly going to be first in line for a sunny trip to a tropical island, would he? No, and the clouds on the mountain were quite a nice veil for sunlight as well.

Kain stopped as he came to the base of a large rock outcropping, the top if which was an easy 20 meters off of the ground. He climbed up to the top and jumped down on the other side. He saw a burnt tree nearby,

“Strange,” he murmured to himself. He continued onward, through a couple of miles of snow and such until he sat down for a rest at the base of a rather large tree trunk. He laid down on the ground and stared up into the opaque sky.

“And here we see a beautiful painting of the sky. Don’t you just love how the shades of grey work together?” Kain remarked. The sky was rather dull after all.

After another ten or so minutes, he stood himself up and started walking, however, he stopped dead in his tracks when he felt something. Not a corporal feeling, like taste, touch, and sight were; no, rather a more ethereal feeling. As though a vacuum was being created in a large vicinity around him, not unlike the stillness that followed him around, the stillness that silenced the rustle of leaves and the breathe of the animals. Compared to his “stillness”, this was hell bent “freezing”.

The vampire turned and faced to his left, where the feeling seemed to emanate from. Ahead of him was a small grouping of trees, of which blocked his view of what was further beyond. Kain took a step toward the trees. The freezing got “colder”. He took another step. Even colder. As he was about to make another step, he heard a faint voice from within the stillness….

OoC: And that very same voice Kain heard will, I would assume, be Gorin waiting for the OA peeps to arrive. Or an OA member waiting for Gorin.... but it would probably be Gorin.

Re: Mind, Body, and Soul. (Oblivion Alliance)

OOC: BB, when Gorin says “Grasthos’ old tower” he means the desert location, not the one that the group is heading for in the mountains.

BIC: Gorin sat in the same wooden chair he had been seated at hours ago. This time however, he was smoking a finely crafted cigar. Large balls of hale now accompanied the rain.

“Sir,” said the domerri while entering the room. Before he even crossed the threshold he knew that something was wrong. Gorin had a knack for feeling bad if something bad had either happened, was happening, or was about to happen.

By the looks of it, all three were happening at once. The neo-echo was surrounded by empty bottles of whiskey, and an ashtray in front of him was practically invisible under all of the cigarette and cigar stubs. The Oblivion Master himself was staring out the window with a sorrowful look on his face.

“Who could you find?” Gorin asked. He himself had contacted Shisho via the gossip stone that the magi had given him, but he didn’t know who Jeorrod had found. Jeorrod had a habit of finding only a few members, then deciding that he was too lazy to find the rest.

“Brolio, Droz, Rayu, Raid, Erebus,” despite the lack of the need to breathe, Jeorrod still took a deep breath before finishing the list. “And Isis. Erebus and Isis were accompanied by a strange foxgirl.”

Gorin opened his mouth a tiny bit, letting a puff of cigar smoke flow out. He couldn’t help the feeling that various bad things were happening all around him without him even noticing them. The neo-echo then pulled his shirt slightly so that he could view his chest.

It was still there. Gorin sighed, noticing that it had grown an inch in diameter since the week before. It was a tiny bit deeper as well. He let go of his shirt and vomited, much to his still-present domerri’s disgust.

“Let me know when they get here. I’ll tell them what’s going on once they all arrive…”

OOC: Incredibly sorry for the short post. What I'm even more sorry for is the fact that I don't have a good reason.

EDIT: I realize I haven't given you guys much to work on with this post. Whatever you do, have your post end with your character(s) being seated in the main dining room of the tower.

Re: Mind, Body, and Soul. (Oblivion Alliance)

OoC: I’m sorry for the wait. Also, I have no idea how the tower looks like, so I’ll wing it.

BiC:

After successfully escaping Tira’s wrath, Droz, Brolio, and Rayu had already read the note from the Oblivion Master, Dante. In doing so, they were now on their way to Grasthos’ old tower. None of them however had any idea where it was, being new to the O.A. and all, but thankfully, there were directions on the letter.

They soon reached the desert. The heat and lifelessness of the land brings back bad memories for Droz. The hundreds of people he killed while under the hold, of Rova, the ex-dictator of a powerful race and Queen of Evil. Of coarse, Droz had no choice, but to follow. Having, at the time, no free will of his own, because of his old curse that had been lifted.

Rayu and Brolio also had memories, both good and bad, of the desert. For Rayu, the desert brought memories of the final battle between his homeland and the Dark Elf country. The things that happened that day will be with him forever. For Brolio, it was the day that sealed his relationship with Tira, his now, lover.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After hours of nonstop flying, Droz had finally reached the tower. The black dragon stopped about twenty feet away from the entrance. They slowly crept up the tower and Droz knocked heavily on the large wooden door.

OoC: Yeah that’s… pretty much all I got.

Re: Mind, Body, and Soul. (Oblivion Alliance)

Now that Shisho had cast himself into near weightlessness, he was easily able to out pace any kind of mount. And in less than a minute, he was beyond the sands of the beach and onto the grass of the fields. Following the vibes he was receiving from the far off Gossip Stone, he headed northeast, which would take him first into the rocky canyons.

Letting the wind blow through his cape, he sped down the gently sloping landscape toward the canyon. Of course, there were a few creatures along the way, but they were easy enough to get around. But then again, they did tend to get a little meaner when you got closer to places like the canyon.

After a speedy trip through the field, Shisho found himself between the stone walls that marked his entrance to the canyon. But before he could reach the actual crevice, he would have to hop some fences, and jump a few ledges. And, of course, he had to avoid a few native creatures, the kind that explode when you touched them.

With a few little hops, he easily passed the fences and arrived at the crossroads, marked by the ledge that blocked the way. A simple addition of the Jump spell on top of his lightening one would just as easily get him over the ledge in front of him. So he cast, and with one swift leap, he made it up and landed squarely on the edge.

From here, it wasn’t a few hops till he would arrive at the river that ran through the bottom of the canyon. Unfortunately, the path he was on cut right into the bottom. But fortunately, as he was, an acrobatic technique called the wall kick would quickly take him to the top. So he leapt, kicked off the rock face, and reflected higher off of an adjacent face.

Now that he was on the other side of the canyon, he was but a few hops away from the rocky wastes and the elevated mountains that lay beyond. But interestingly enough, there was more in this small stretch of land than there was the entire rest of the trip. The ruins of a once great kingdom, and an invincible fortress, a Tower of Stone.

If Gorin wasn’t anywhere around here, this was going to be a very, very, very long trek.

~~~~~~~~~~
Several hours later, Shisho was tired, sweating, and about ready for some rest. After passing over the jagged wastes, he had journeyed up and down a mountain and was now well into a desert. But luckily, the vibes were getting stronger and he could very easily see a towering structure off in the distance.
At this point, he had opted to hike instead of running, as his legs were more suited for such. Of course, as long as he was light, progress was quick regardless. Although at this point, he’d had to recast his spell about ten times. Everything was starting to take its toll on him.
But before he knew it, Shisho had already arrived at the tower. Raising his gloved hand, he pounded his fist against the door and waited for a response. When no one answered, he pounded on the door again, harder this time. When still no one answered, he opened the door and let himself in. “Hello? Is anyone here?”
OoC: Sorry if it’s a little corny.
