Chasing the Bounty. (3 people.)

OOC: This is basically about how our characters go about trying to find and capture a serial killer with a rather large bounty on his head. The characters can help eachother, try to sabotage one another’s plans, etc.

The main reason this isn’t in the regular battle arena forum is because the serial killer is a wily little fellow, and it’s not like our characters are guaranteed to get into a big brawlfest for the bounty.

I’ll be using Eiro, link in sig.

BIC: The armored knight stared at the wanted poster with a burning sensation. The man on the poster had a rather large bounty on his head, but that wasn’t the only thing that interested her in this bounty.

He was wanted for ten accounts of rape, seven accounts of murder, eighteen kidnappings, dozens of assault charges, as well as a few counts of theft and arson here and there.

That bastard,” thought Eiro. Under the wanted poster were drawings of his past victims. They ranged from elderly men in a few of the murder accounts, to young babies that he had kidnapped and done…certain things to.

I’m going to gut that guy before anybody else even has a chance to touch him.” She looked at the poster again to get a better look at the man.

He was slightly chubby, with an overly large adam’s apple. His eyes were dark green, his hair a greasy black. According to the poster this guy was exactly six feet tall.

The poster stated that he was last seen in the town of Charique. Eiro instantly set out for the town, not knowing that she wasn’t the only one who had taken up the job.

OOC: Sorry for the short starting post. Remember that three people can join. End your posts with your characters either setting out for Charique, or ending up in Charique.

Re: Chasing the Bounty. (3 people.)

OoC: Ok, since no one seems interested in my own RP, and you wanted me to battle with Eiro anyway, I'll join this one with Oreit. Linksinsig.

BiC:

The poster floated slowly to the ground as Oreit walked away. The Fadeykin didn't even get a glance as he maneuvered unnoticed through the empty streets. Emotion was not getting in the way of this bounty, though the former assassin hated to stoop to this level, so this perversity was going to die... lucky for him it would be Oreit and not some kind of religious fanatic or a loud-mouthed avenger for justice. The assassin was a swift killer, and the man would have no idea what happened. He wouldn't have time to think about it.

The Fadeykin entered a swift run as he left the tiny mining town. Not many places were empty during the day, but that village was operated by mine workers and managers, so they all escaped below ground when the sun entered the scene. Oreit could only imagine how pale they looked; vampires came to his mind. Capable of a nine minute mile, Oreit was still no where close to Charique. The town was well over fifty miles from here, so it would take hours to get there.

~~(___________()

The swiftness if his run was probably below what he could have reached, but Oreit was not excited about being physically tired; that would just distract him when he needed mental awareness. By chance, Oreit arrived there even as the sun began to set. He could literally see it touch the mountains as he snuck into the town. There were actually still people on the streets, and by the looks of it this town wasn't a haven to the righteous. At least seven bars were visible from where Oreit stood, but there wasn't much else.

Sitting down to meditate, the Fadeykin pored over his information. A smart murderer wouldn't stay in a tavern, That would be too obvious. He's never been caught, so that means either he's a decent fighter or he can out-step his hunters. It could be both, but those things in a murderer widely known to pick on the weak, are unlikely. His thoughts ranged a bit more to the town now. People that would allow a town to be saturated by ill-reputed businesses would not be very concerned with morals, and may very well do what they can to deceive and distract a hunter. He may have friends in the city, so it's likely that he is hiding in an apartment or home. There could be many solutions. He may have left the town. He has left the town.

Re: Chasing the Bounty. (3 people.)

I like Erebus so much that I'm going to use him now. Besides, I need to wait until the end of Twisted Carnival to know how Isis' overall mood will change.

And besides, Usaka's in training. >:/

BiC: Erebus had seen a sign. Although in his wanderings he had seen literally thousands of signs, this one caught his eye.

Maybe it was the fact that it was twice the size of the board it was nailed to.

A lazy-looking fat man was drawn upon it. It's horrible artisticness was very predictable. "Stupid medival people." the teenager said. Then he caught notice of a small number at the bottom. He lifted up his glasses in shock, and then stepped back. He had only ever seen this many zeros on one of his report cards. "I must kill this man"

"Let's see now, where to go? This little village named Charique? Sound familiar for some reason. Oh yeah, that's the town with the best Vodka for twenty miles! Heh heh, good thing I've been saving my money for "colledge" heh heh..." Erebus said to himself.

A villager had heard this entire one-sided conversation and thought that Erebus was quite the retard.

Re: Chasing the Bounty. (3 people.)

OoC: I'd like to use my new character Kaj for this, but I think this would be more of thing my character Lyra did. So I will be using Lyra. The link is in my sig.

BiC:
Lyra in the corner of the inn, watching as men all around her grew drunk, and acted like idiots. The men yelled at each other, and one man even punched another guy in the face for spilling his drink on him. The Hylian wrinkled her face in disgust, regretting getting a room at this inn. It was an early hour in the morning, and Lyra was surprised that all of these people were still up.

Of course, then again, I’m still up, aren’t I? she thought to herself. “I hate places like this,” she muttered, tasting some of the soup that she had ordered. The broth was thin, and there was hardly any meat or vegetables in it. In fact, a suspicious looking, unidentified thing was floating in it. Lyra pushed the bowl aside, losing her appetite. “And the food is crap too.” She just hoped that her statement wasn’t literal.

The young woman got up from the table, deciding to go to bed. She managed to sneak away unnoticed by anyone, and walked over to the stairs, which led to the hallway where her room was. She passed a bulletin board with several announcements, such as a cat gone missing, or someone selling some old armor. However, one announcement caught her eye.

There was a crazed serial killer on the loose. He had killed seven people, raped ten people, kidnapped eighteen people, and had done a few other things. On the paper was a picture of a middle-aged looking man who seemed to be on the chubby side. He had a rather large Adam’s Apple, meaning he must have a deep voice. (OoC: I think that’s the case with Adam’s Apples…of course, I’m not positive) (BiC: ) The man had dark, greasy hair, and brilliant green eyes. It said that he was six feet tall, and was last seen in a town called Charique. There didn’t appear to be any name mentioned.

Lyra looked below the picture, and saw some drawings of his most recent victims. Some of them were old men, while others were young babies, hardly a year old. A few of the victims were girls who looked to be around Lyra’s age. Lyra clenched her fist in anger as she saw those drawings, shuddering at the thought of what he had possibly done to those girls.

Lyra ran up to her room and grabbed her possessions, and asked the owner of the inn where Charique was. He told her, and before he could ask why the Hylian wanted to know, she had left. She exited the town, thankful that she was only a few miles away from the town where the killer was last spotted.

The entire time she ran to the town, she kept her sword in her hand, and listened for any suspicious sounds. Eventually, the sun began to rise, and Lyra could see much better than she could before. Soon enough, she saw the town ahead of her.

Re: Chasing the Bounty. (3 people.)

Eiro leaned against a building. It hadn’t taken her too long to reach the town, that was the easy part. The hard part would be finding this man.

The armored knight noticed a strange looking man sitting on the ground across the street in a meditating pose. His dark hair covered everything from his eyes up, while a gray mask took care of his lower face.

She decided that this man was as good as anybody to ask about her target, and quickly walked across the street to speak with him. By the looks of the man he seemed to be a criminal of some sort.

Eiro gently grabbed the man’s shoulder to put him out of his trance. In a flash the man quickly stood and twisted around the female knight to hold her armored arm behind her back.

“Who are you?” he asked. Eiro could have easily used the large amount of strength the armor provided to break out of the man’s hold, but decided that this was the best position for her to ask questions.

If he tried to run she could quickly grab and restrain him. In fact, this was absolutely perfect. He was in a position where it seemed that he had complete control over her, but she would still be able to restrain him if need be.

“My name is Eiro,” she said, the armor replacing her voice with the usual demonic-male voice. “I am looking for a man by the name of Shivorez Mando. Have you seen him?”

Oreit tried to decide whether he should let the armored knight go or attempt to kill her. By the knight’s voice it seemed that he was a powerful man of some demonic clan, yet he was looking for the same man that the Fadeykin was looking for.

“My name is unimportant,” he began. “You would do well not to look for this man unless you want some tough competition.”

Eiro smiled, although it was impossible to tell by looking at her helmet. This man was starting to seem very interesting.

The female knight utilized her cursed armor’s strength enhancing abilities to break out of the strangely dressed man’s hold. She grabbed him by the arm and flipped him.

Much to her surprise, Oreit landed on his feet rather than his back and brought a short blade to the knight’s throat. It would have cut her throat if she hadn’t brought one of her spears up and blocked it.

“I’ll tell you what, why don’t we work together on this one?” she asked. This man was very interesting, and she found herself wanting to know more about him and his motives for searching for Shivorez.

She knew that the bounty on him was high, but most people didn’t try to catch him because of his notoriety at avoiding capture. Some people had even run themselves ragged trying to catch him, ruining their lives by spending every waking moment trying to find him.

Re: Chasing the Bounty. (3 people.)

Oreit's eyes narrowed immediately. This one's not a good partner. People like this are going to want a different end... a ‘righteous' end. He'll probably be convinced in his own self-ability. Oreit did not want to work with this knight. He may have information; he did know the name, I did not.

Oreit nodded silently to himself, "Tell me what you know."

I've given no promise, and this type will take that as an acceptance. I'll garner the information then leave him to fend for himself. The knight was answering, "You haven't said you'll work with me."

Such a voice! There is no demon here... it must be some kind of resonate quality in the armor. It would have to be a fairly deep voice to produce that quality though. Perhaps he is more able than I thought... he did not take the bait after all. Oreit simply answered, "No I haven't. You tell me what you know, then I judge whether or not you are any use at all."

The knight took no time to contemplate this, "No."

Oreit shrugged, whisking his wakizashi into it's sheath, noting the response his rival made when the blade and handle disappeared into his robe. The armor reveals nothing. Spinning away immediately and darting away, the Fadeykin could feel a hand grope after him, latch onto his robe. This did not concern him. He spun himself around, then performed a perfect front-flip with his gray garment still in the armored palm of what he now considered an extra inconvenience. The good fabric slipped from the knight's hand quickly and left the armored man meters away. Oreit let his eyes traverse the body of the warrior for seconds before renewing the removal of himself from the street. Darting into and alleyway and onto a box, he latched himself onto a tiny nick in the wall and propelled himself onto a windowsill before his adversary even appeared after him.

The knight appeared at a loss for a moment, giving the assassin time to slip quietly into the window and close it. He nestled down against the wall to finish his interrupted meditation. This will be a contest of skill as much as wit. I now have a name. Shivorez Mando, the perfect name for a killer. The man is no doubt some kind of one-cretin that had a traumatic childhood and wants to take it out on others. Oreit felt no sympathy, Perhaps I should commission with that other hunter. It could be more profitable than working alone, but rewards would be diminished. However, no reward is worse than half.

The subject had settled itself in his mind. Oreit's escape from his rival was not necessarily a no, just an attempt to find time... priorities in the Fadeykin's world revolved around good decisions, not good allies. He stood quickly, letting his grey robe fall into place, and reopened the window. The knight had left, but the assassin was more than confident he could find the other quickly. He needed only to search the obvious places and the warrior was likely to be there.

Re: Chasing the Bounty. (3 people.)

Erebus walked into the local bar. "Yo barkeep! Triple Expresso Kaiser, extra onions!" he yelled, and immediatly the bartender obeyed. This was their best customer, they wouldn't dare deny him. He cooly slid the powerful drink down to the alcoholic teenager who gulped it down within seconds. Unfazed, he smiled and asked for a different drink, and this time, with more "kick."

One hour later, Erebus was hopelessly drunk. "And da wine ish in da wall, with my shpud!" he sang to the enjoyment of the townspeople. In fact, he wasn't drunk at all. He was faking it to draw out the rouge pedophile. "Barkeep! Thish time I wantsh it awl! Gimmie a Quadruple Caffinated Onion-Garlic Martini with one of dose liddle umbrellas on top. Easy on da foam."

The whole bar gasped. "How can he drink that?" some said, while another stood up and walked out. Erebus grabbed it and looked around. "Cowards" he thought, grinning to his mightiest. The teen gripped it and swallowed the whole pint within twenty seconds. A few of the less stoic fainted.

A few minutes later, he heard a sound. Several people jumped away, and Erebus swerved around on his stool. Although, he felt the warm embrace of chemical-induced sleep as soon as he saw his assailant. With his last kick of energy, he yelled out "It's the perp!"

Several warriors heard this cry, including Eiro.

Re: Chasing the Bounty. (3 people.)

OoC: Sorry about the slight delay. Hopefully, it won't happen again.

BiC:
Lyra was sitting in the bar, taking a break from questioning people. The people in this town weren’t too happy about being questioned about the killer. Plus, it seemed as if a few other people were asking the villagers questions as well, and they were starting to feel harassed. At first, they didn’t seem to mind it too much. Eventually, though, they grew angry with her, and would ignore her if she asked them anything at all.

Lyra was trying to ignore all of the people around her when a voice yelled out, “It’s the perp!” Lyra looked around, and saw someone fall to the ground. She jerked her head towards the door, and saw that someone was exiting the bar. She left a blue rupee on the table to cover the food that she had ordered (but never received) and raced after the killer.

She looked around for any signs of him, and saw nothing. She asked a few villagers if they had seen a drunk running away from the bar, and, as angry as the people were, they told her where the man went. Lyra headed in that direction, her sword drawn. She held it tightly, ready to block anything that would attack her. Besides looking out for the man, she listened for any suspicious sounds. She didn’t want to be looking one way and have the killer – or someone else who was after the killer – to sneak up on her.

She stayed by the side of the road, not wanting to draw any attention to herself. After about a half hour of walking, she heard a branch snap behind her. She spun around, looking for anything – or anyone – who caused the noise. She saw nothing. She looked around suspiciously, and turned around. Though it didn’t appear as if she was paying attention, she was listening for any other noises, and looking out for any attacks.

Re: Chasing the Bounty. (3 people.)

“It’s the perp!”

Eiro instantly turned towards the source of the scream. Apparently, it came from the nearest bar. It was strange that a child would be in the bar.

Seconds later the armored knight noticed a man fitting the bounty’s description leaving the bar. Eiro instantly ran after him in pursuit, but found that another woman was running in the man’s general direction. The man being out of sight, Eiro decided to follow the woman.

To keep herself from being spotted the female knight climbed up a nearby ladder onto a building, albeit with some difficulty. Once she was on the building she began to pursue the woman, leaping from rooftop to rooftop.

A few minutes into the chase the woman slowed to a walk. Not wanting to draw attention to herself, Eiro knelt down on the roof and watched as the other woman walked about the square. She seemed to be looking for the same person the knight was looking for.

Seeing as the woman didn’t seem to be going anywhere soon, Eiro sat down on the edge of the roof and began to mull over her thoughts. Having been a victim of the same crimes this man had committed, she figured that she might be able to decipher where he was hiding by looking over her memories.

As much as it pained her to do so, Eiro focused on that horrible night…

”Leave me alone!” she shouted. The men merely laughed at her and continued to beat her. She soon had several bruises and a black eye.

Of course, this was nothing compared to what they had been doing. What they had been doing moments before was something Eiro would never, ever forget.

The female warrior shook her head, clearing the memory from her mind for a moment.

I’m not going to find anything from that memory. It was a group of guys, and they didn’t run off so I have no idea where they would have hid…

Eiro unsheathed her twin spears and peaked over the edge of the building. The woman was still walking about, although she seemed to know that she was being followed. The knight took this chance to get a good look at the surrounding area.

The building she was on was yet another bar, something that was fairly common in this town. Down in the square were a couple trees, from which there were a few twigs on the ground. The other woman was standing off to the side of the road, one of the trees incredibly close to her.

Eiro was about to jump down when she noticed a shadowy figure sneaking up on the woman. Unfortunately for whoever the figure was, he/she stepped on a twig. The woman quickly spun around at the noise.

The figure quickly ducked behind the tree, somehow getting there before the woman could spot them. Judging by the figure’s size, it obviously wasn’t Shivorez. A minion possibly?

Eiro dropped down from the roof, landing between the woman and the figure.
