Hunting for a death dealer. (Quark and Librairian)

OOC: Here’s the rpg I promised you guys.

BIC: “Eh? Ya wanttin to be knowin ‘bout Gorin ayy?” Asked the sailor. He had once been the only human onboard the Hellbound, the flagship of the Oblivion army’s naval fleet.

TDC had learned of that information and sought out the old sailor. The man was far from what the young demon had expected.

First of all, he was old. This man was in his seventies at least, and had to use a cane for support. His beady eyes looked down on TDC as an old man should look down on a child.

Secondly, he was rather fat. This old man was so rotound that other people had to walk on the edge of the dock when he came by, less they risk being knocked into the water by his fat.

“Yes, I want to know if you know of anybody who knew Gorin,” replied TDC. The boy’s back hurt from being attacked from behind by a deeply religious priest a few hours earlier, and he had to crack his back every few minutes or else he’d feel stiff.

“I don’t be knowin a thing about that there Gorin, ‘cept that I used to work on his ship. I knows about a man named Grasthos though. They seemed to know eachother, though I don’t know if it was friendly or enemynesship they had.” Replied the old man. His fat shook with each word, and he seemed to be getting tired from the mere effort of speaking.

“Where can I find Grasthos?” Asked TDC. He had finally found a lead in his search for the mysterious Gorin.

“There’s an old armory down South there is. I heres that’s where Grasthos be keepin old experimentses, yer gonna need some help.” The fat old man shuffled a bit and nearly knocked TDC into the water with his fat.

“How far South?” Asked TDC. He had a feeling that it was going to be quite a ways, and he needed to know the exact distance so that he could find a map and plot a route that involved stopping in several towns.

“Oh, quite a ways. As I says, you should bring some help. I don’t be thinkin a boy your age could find his way there with no help at all.” Replied the old man. He yawned and scratched a private area, much to TDC’s disgust.

“Okay, thanks for the help…” Said the boy. He left the dock and went towards the town, ignoring the fact that several villagers were making rather rude comments towards him.

This was one of the towns that had heard of the boy, and most villagers didn’t take too kindly to creatures spawned via the rape of a mortal woman by an immortal demon. Even if the rape was forced by a third party.

TDC suddenly stopped in his tracks when he recognized one of the people moving about the street. This was a powerful warrior, and one of the very few people to not be prejudice against him for his lineage.

The boy ran towards the person and called out their name…

Re: Hunting for a death dealer. (Quark and Librairian)

Ooc: Thanks, after posting this I realized how cool Slag is. I may have to RP and battle with him more.

Bic:

"Slag!" TDC shouted, running toward him.

The cyborg wheeled around, blaster arm equipped and pointed in an agressive mode. He lowered it as he saw who aproached, "God no, not him." Slag slapped his human hand over his forehead, "I thought I lost this kid at the bar incident."

The Dark Child stopped directly in front of the warlord. Slag was not a pretty sight, he was mostly machine with a few human parts. His skin was as white as cooled ash and his breath wreaked of blood. His bald shaved scalp exposed various battle scars across it as well as a cybertronic eye to make them feel at home.

"Slag, I need to talk to you." TDC informed.

"Ok, but make it quick. That girl I captured at the bar incident has a date with the Grim Reaper and I'de hate for her to miss it." Slag said quickly, obviously a little frustrated.

"You said you knew Gorin, right?"

Slag nodded slowly in response, "He was a skilled warrior."

TDC continued, "Well I need your help in finding him." he said, a little reluctant. He didn't like to have to ask for help, but he knew he needed it.

"Look kid, I don't know where he is." Slag informed, "I said I knew him, I don't know his street adress. Now piss off."

Slag turned around to leave, but The Dark Child grabbed stopped him, "I know where he is!" His voice boomed through the sky, "I just need help getting there."

Slag paused a moment then turned around, "I see no profit in it for me, so if you want help then you better pay up."

Re: Hunting for a death dealer. (Quark and Librairian)

TDC scratched the top of his head, causing a few head lice to fall out. His hair felt greasy due to the fact that he hadn’t had a bath in months. Somebody like him couldn’t afford to use water for baths.

“Umm, I don’t think I have any,” He said solemnly. A sudden ripping noise erupted from the boy’s raggedy shirt.

Lifting up his arm had strained the horribly cheap rag to the point that the armpit area had ripped. TDC winced when Slag heard the ripping noise.

“I’m not surprised that you have no money if you have to wear clothes like that.” The warlord said. He started off again when he felt the boy grab his arm.

“Please Slag. I helped you when you needed it.” The boy was feeling worse and worse about actually asking somebody for help. He didn’t deserve anybody helping him…

“I’ll make you a deal kid. If you can find somebody else to help you, somebody who’s got money, I’ll help you for the money.” Replied Slag. He tore his arm from the heir to the God of Wrath’s grip.

TDC sighed. Where was he going to find somebody else to help him? Nobody wanted to help a lowly kid, no money, or anything of value, in a long treck that could take days.

He suddenly noticed somebody else he recognized. He ran over to them, making sure to get to them before they headed off again.

“Hey, I need some help!”

Re: Hunting for a death dealer. (Quark and Librairian)

“Hey, I need some help!” Kawaii heard someone shout. She turned around to see a boy in rags coming toward her. "Umm, hello?" She said as he came to a halt. "You don't remember me?" The boy asked. "Was I supposed to?" She replied.

"Uhh... Oh, here" TDC said as he reached into a pocket. He pulled out a piece of pink cloth and showed it to Kawaii. She thought for a moment and then an excited look came upon her face. She quickly gave him a hug. "You're okay!" She said, her voice muffled in his chest.

"Yeah I'm okay." TDC said as he tried to pry her off of himself. After she got off, he said "Listen, I need some help. Do you have any money?" "What do you need that for?" Kawaii asked. "I'm trying to convince this guy to come with me and he won't do it unless I pay him." he replied.

"I'm good at convincing guys. Mind if I try?" Kawaii said. "Umm, sure. He's the one with the metal limbs and the red eye." TDC replied. "Eww. Well, okay." Kawaii said when she saw Slag. And just then Kawaii was swallowed up in a puff of smoke. And from out of the smoke walked a woman in her early twenties.

TDC fell over in suprise. This was a trick she hadn't shown him last time they had met. Kawaii walked over to Slag and started talking and touching him. After a minute or two Kawaii walked back to The Dark Child and transformed back into her normal self. "It never fails. I convinced him."

Re: Hunting for a death dealer. (Quark and Librairian)

Slag walked over to The Dark Child and whispered into his ear, "I don't care about your 'woman' friend, my bio scan says she isn't even human."

"Whatever that means." TDC shrugged.

Slag began to recite his results from the quick scan, "Name: Unknown, Age: 24, Race: Unknown. Resembles human but is missing signs of aging and is missing a human brain." He finished reading off the stats, "I say she's some sort of illusion or ancient machine of some sort."

TDC shrugged, "You're paranoid."

Slag bent down to match The Dark Child's height with his own, "In other words, I will go with you. But you'de better hope Gorin has something for me," He stood to his full height once more, "For your sake." he finished.

TDC gulped a wad of spit, he had seen Slag fight before and knew it wouldn't be wise to mess with him, "Don't worry, he should." TDC said, unsure if that was the truth or not.

"So where are we going, by land or by sea?" Slag asked plainly.

"Um, well we're going south." TDC replied as he pulled out a map and began to look it over.

Slag staired out at the ocean, using his robotic eye to peer farther ahead, "It looks like we need to take a ship and we would be reaching land a dozen or so miles ahead. From there on I can't see."

Ooc: Yeah, I never put the zoom feature in his bio, but just let it slide for me.

Re: Hunting for a death dealer. (Quark and Librairian)

TDC was a little worried. He didn't even know if he'd find Gorin on this trip, let alone that Gorin would pay for it.

"Crap," the child scratched the back of his head. "The only person I know of who's renting out ships is somebody I don't particularly like."

The man TDC was talking about was the fat man he had been talking to earlier. The uncomfortable image of the fat old man scratching his private area, drool dribbling down his chin, was a horrible one indeed.

“Well, where is he?” asked Slag. The cybernetic man eyed the young child, wondering how such a poor child could be the son of Gorin. Of course, the boy didn’t seem to know that Gorin was his father.

“This way. I’m warning you though, he’s not a pleasant sight.” Replied TDC. The young demon led Slag and the doll through the crowded streets.

“Hey! Get out of here you vile little demon!” came a voice. TDC shrunk back, trying to hide himself between Slag and Kawaii.

Several villagers had gathered together with a large amount of stones and weapons. The overly religious priest that had attacked the boy earlier was with them.

TDC took off running, Kawaii following suit. The doll had no idea why they were running but treated it as if they were playing tag, tapping the boy on the shoulder every few steps and shouting “Tag, your it!”

Slag however, had a hard time deciding whether to kill the villagers or run with the boy and the doll. After a few seconds of deliberation he chose to follow the two kids.

“He’s this way!” TDC shouted. The dock with the fat man was coming nearer, as the horrible odor made evident. The fat man was sitting where he had been sitting before.

“Need a boat, sorry!” The young demon was forced to knock the fat old man into the water in order to get to the docked boat. The villagers were not far behind when Slag lifted the gangplank.

The villagers yelled and threw stones as the boat drifted out of the port. Fortunately for the three adventurers, both Kawaii and Slag had enough experience with ships to control the vessel.

“Which way are we going?” Asked Kawaii. TDC was completely puzzled by the doll. She was a magnificent fighter, something she proved when she beat him during their last encounter, yet she was incredibly childish.

“Oh, errm… I think we just keep going South until we find a sign that we’ve reached our destination.” Replied the young demon. He was marveling over how complex the girl was.

Slag chuckled slightly. He could tell the incredibly large age difference between the two, although he couldn’t quite explain how they were.

TDC was a teenager it seemed, but still seemed as though he weren’t entirely used to the prospect of the world. Kawaii however, was not a human. She was at least an adult, but had the mind of a child.

There were no more problems as the ship drifted out of the harbor and towards the open ocean…

Re: Hunting for a death dealer. (Quark and Librairian)

Kawaii darted from port to starbard taking in the sights and sounds of the open ocean. The other two weren't exactly as energetic. TDC was trying to stear the ship, while Slag sulked around.

After an hour of watching the little girl zip between the sides of the ship, Slag realized something. He had just watched a little girl zip between the sides of a ship for an hour.

He walked over to the little girl and stopped her. He sat her down on a crate and tried to analyze her again. And once again, it turned up negative. No brain function, no signs of aging, no internal organs, and her makeup was virtually the same as the crate she was sitting on.

"What are you?" Slag asked. "I'm a doll." Kawaii replied. "A doll?" "That's right, I'm made of wood." She rapped her fist on her forehead, making the sound of knocking on wood.

"I need to get back to my own time." Slag said in an exasperated voice. Then he got up and went below deck.

Kawaii was kind of confused about what had just happened, but as she often did, she lost interest. So she decided to go see what TDC was up to. She took the long way by climbing up the sail and sliding down the other side.

"What's up?" Kawaii asked as she dropped down in front of him. "Oh, I'm just trying to keep the ship straight. It's not too hard." TDC Replied. "You know, I just though of something." Kawaii said "You never told me your name."

TDC looked up from his map. "Huh?" "You never told me your name." "You never told me yours either." "Really? Well my name's Kawaii, what's yours?" "I don't have a name." "Really? Mind if I give you one?" "What?" "I'm going to call you Freddie!" "Wait, what?"

Re: Hunting for a death dealer. (Quark and Librairian)

Slag marched down the stairs and entered the sleeping quarters. It was dark and damp, obviously it was rarely ever used. Spiderwebs had formed in the corners of the room, the owners of the webs long dead. On the floor there was a large blood stain where someone was once killed.

Slag sat down on a barrel and chuckled, "Home sweet home."

He pulled off his mechanical arm and set it on a crate next to him. He pulled out his blaster arm and stuck it in its slot. He spun the gun part around on his wrist and locked it in place. He began checking the ammo and mechinisms, making sure everything was in order for when the next time he had to use it.

He continued to do this with the rest of his weapons until he was finished with them all. He returned his original arm into its slot and stood from the barrel, realizing he was hungery. He made his way back up to the deck, "You weird kid, I'm hungry!" he shouted to where ever TDC had gone.

"Hold your horses metal man, we don't have any food." TDC grumbled, him too striving for food.

"Well how in blue blazes are we getting some?" Slag shouted.

TDC rolled his eyes, "Go find a net and catch some fish."

Slag turned around and walked to the edge of the boat. He unequiped his current arm and equiped his blaster arm once more, "All I need is the fish bait and I can do the rest." he smirked.

Re: Hunting for a death dealer. (Quark and Librairian)

The child went below deck to find some chum. He gave the disgusting fish food to Slag, who promptly sat on the edge of the ship and dumped some of it in.

TDC watched for a few minutes as Slag shot at fish. He was puzzled as to what the ray of light that came out of the cybernetic man’s arm was, and how it killed the fish.

He was about to ask Slag what the light was when he heard a noise. Looking upwards, the boy started gawking.

Kawaii was sitting on top of the mast, despite the fact that this particular ship didn’t have a crow’s nest, and she was running around on it. That alone wasn’t enough to make TDC act in such surprise, but the fact that the top of the mast was thin and rounded to the point that it was easy to fall off was.

The doll was running back and forth, waving hi to the seagulls that flew by. He couldn’t quite hear her from the steering wheel but it sounded like she was shouting hellos to the birds.

“And I thought she was strange enough already,” mused TDC. The boy chuckled and shook his head.

He watched Kawaii for a few more minutes. This was one of the rare times when the young demon was at peace. The sight of Kawaii repeatedly running back and forth, as well as Slag’s fish shooting and the waves soon put TDC in a sleepy mood.

Yawning, he turned to see how much fish the cybernetic man had caught. The sheer amount made him wonder why the boat wasn’t tipping over.

Slag had killed and dragged onboard three sharks, several large fish, and a couple dozen smaller fish. By now he was gutting them, placing the intestines into the wooden chum buckets.

“Will you steer the ship for a little while? I need some sleep.” Slag, who was in the middle of gutting one of the sharks, turned to face TDC.

“Why can’t you get her to do it?” he replied, motioning to Kawaii. She was still running back and forth on top of the mast, although she was starting to do it more slowly because there were fewer seagulls to say hi to.

“Don’t tell her I said this, but I don’t exactly trust that she can find the will to force herself to remain still and steer the ship,” was TDC’s reply. The young demon went below deck to sleep for a little while.

What he didn’t know however, was that the ship was nearing an island that had been marked on the map as a pit stop to attain food and other supplies.

OOC: Sorry for the short post. I've got quite a few threads to reply to. I promise my next few posts will be much better than this one.

Re: Hunting for a death dealer. (Quark and Librairian)

Kawaii was hanging upsidedown by her feet, continuing to give her greetings to the seagulls. But after a while she got bored again. And while she was hanging there, she saw something ahead.

Slag didn't see the island ahead, primarily because the wheel was facing the stern of the ship. "Hey! There's an island up ahead!" He heard Kawaii shouted from the top of the mast. Slag turned around and saw the palm trees coming up from above the bow.

"Hey, Girl! Get down here!" Slag yelled. Kawaii slid down the sail and landed in front of him. "Go get That Dark Child and tell him that we're coming toward an island." "Gotcha."

"Freddie!" Kawaii said loudly as she came below deck. TDC was resting in a fish net he had rigged up into a makeshift bed. "Freddie, where are you!" Kawaii's shouting jerked him out of his sleep. "What is it Kawaii?" "The other guy told me to tell you that we're coming toward an island." "Really?"

TDC pulled the map out of his rags. "It says here that it's called Amari Island. It's a restocking stop. Tell Slag to weigh anchor and get the little boat ready when we get close enough." "Who?" "The other guy." "Alrighty!"

Kawaii hurried back above deck and ran over to Slag. "Freddie says to weigh anchor and get the little boat ready when we get close enough." "Who?" "Freddie!" "Riiight."

Slag steared the ship toward the island while Kawaii tried to find something to entertain herself. TDC was still below deck trying to shake himself back to sleep, but he found he couldn't. "I'm getting hungry. I might as well see what Slag caught."

Re: Hunting for a death dealer. (Quark and Librairian)

Slag took the wheel as he steered it toward the island. He began to feel like he was back on his flagship, commanding his armada to strike against an unsuspecting planet. The island almost seemed like a planet in the way they were approaching, he could almost picture enemy craft coming in by the bucket load. His mind drifted off as he thought back to one of the most exciting battles of his life.

"Sir, we've lost the Vindicator!" the engineer shouted, watching the other spacecraft fall from the sky like dead flies.

Keon Laan stroked his chin lightly, thinking hard on his next move, "Order three defenders to cover it and hide a rescue craft between them, Igner is on that ship. His survival is very important to our mission."

"Yes sir!" the engineer saluted and passed the word on to the others in charge of performing such a request.

"Sir," another engineer called out, frightened as can be, "shields down to forty percent, we're not going to last much longer!" he began to panic.

"She can hold a bit longer!" Keon growled, slamming a fist on a control panel, "Please baby, hold together." he whispered to ship as if it were a person.

"That destroyer is decimating our hull!" various voices were calling out random stats and faults, Keon trying desperately to keep up with them all.

"Concentrate all fire on that destroyer!" Keon barked.

"Sir, we've lost our shields!"

"Take evasive action!" Keon shouted, jumping from his seat. His eyes flashed over to the screen, his heart pumping insanely fast. He watched in horror as the screen showed turbine after turbine turn red, showing that excessive damage was being inflicted upon them. Soon they turned black, showing that they weren't attached to the ship at all anymore.

"We've lost our engines!" one of the engineers shouted, "We're doomed!"

Keon watched in horror as a beam of blue light tore through the front of the ship, blasting him and everyone else backwards. He reached the blast door, made it off the bridge, and closed it as he listened to the muffled screams of his crewmates floating off into space. That's when he looked down at his right arm, noticing that it was on the floor and not attached to his shoulder any longer.

Slag snapped back to reality as Kawaii shouted out, "Look out!" Slag noticed he wasn't paying attention and barely swerved the ship out of harms way.

"Well that was close." he said silently to himself, "I'm not ready to lose my other arm just yet."

Re: Hunting for a death dealer. (Quark and Librairian)

Splash. The small wooden boat fell into the blue water, sending a small splash of water into the air. Kawaii was the first one on the boat, having gotten bored of running about on the ship.

TDC lowered himself onto the boat as Slag dropped the anchor. As the metal rings rubbed against the wooden edge of the ship the young demon gazed at the island before them.

Amari Island looked like it had a small town on it. Very few ships were floating at the docks, and little noise could be heard coming from the mass of land.

This place has shops? It looks too small to even have an inn,” thought TDC. Slag climbed into the boat after him, causing the small wooden vessel to rock slightly.

Kawaii laughed and waved goodbye to the seagulls as they rowed towards the island. Strangely, the oceangoing birds remained flying around the larger ship.

“The first place we should stop is the local inn. We’ll probably have to stop here for the night, as I’ve heard the waters between here and the next island are incredibly hard to navigate in the dark,” said TDC.

The boy was looking at the map he had found on the ship. It pointed out every island town between the port they had started out and the place they were heading towards.

“After we stop at the inn to get some rooms we can each split our money and separate to shop for supplies.” Finished the young demon. Slag turned towards the child.

“We have money? I thought you said you didn’t have any.” TDC shrugged and explained to the cybernetic man that he had found some money stored on the ship. The money was to be split evenly, then they would separate and buy supplies.

The town was more active than it had seemed from the larger ship. A few people bustled about in every direction, although nowhere near as large as the tourist crowds at the last town.

The local inn was very easy to find. A large sign depicting a jolly fat man adorned the entrance, the paint chipping off. The three warriors entered the inn to find that it was the usual inn.

A bar adorned one entire side of the inn, while a fireplace was built into another wall. There were a few armchairs near the fireplace in which two old men were playing chess.

The innkeeper was sitting in another one of the other armchairs watching the old men play their game of wit. He was a burly man, his muscles bulging through the sleeveless shirt he wore.

He stroked his rather thing mustache while suggesting moves to the old men. TDC tapped the large man on the shoulder.

“Excuse me, I’d like to buy a few rooms.” Said the young demon. The innkeeper merely grunted and accepted the money that TDC offered him, jabbing his finger towards the stairs.

“There’s two rooms open. They’re the second one on the left and the third one on the right. The bathroom’s at the end of the hall.”

The child turned to Slag. The cybernetic man shook his head, already knowing what the boy was going to ask him. TDC turned to where Kawaii had been standing.

“I guess you’re bunking with me tonight Kawaii,” the boy noticed that the doll wasn’t standing where she had been previously. “Kawaii?”

TDC found the girl cowering behind one of the armchairs, visibly frightened of the fire that roared in the fireplace. She happily followed the boy and the cybernetic man outside to the street.

“Okay. Now that we have our rooms we need to buy some supplies.” TDC handed some gold pieces to Slag and Kawaii, instructing them on what the innkeeper had said were the best stores on the island.

With that out of the way the young demon set out to buy some supplies with his portion of the gold.

Re: Hunting for a death dealer. (Quark and Librairian)

Kawaii skipped down the road while she hummed a tune. She was trying to keep an eye out for some of the places that TDC had mentioned. But, as befitting her, She eventually lost interest and stopped looking.

Because Amari Island was a stop for ships and sailors, there wasn't very much there for children. Kawaii just ended up aimlessly wandering around town. She started to wonder if she should start looking for her two companions.

Then someone started yelling at her. "Hey you! Little girl!" Kawaii looked around to see a thin man that was selling things out of a cart, pointing at her. "Me?" She said as she walked over to him. "Yes, you. Would you like to see one of my funnest products?" "Sure."

He pulled out a little wooden doll and showed it to her. "This is of the finest quality." "Sorry, but I'm already one." "Eh... But this way, you'll be two." "Okay." K
