A Heart Buried in a Monster (Anyone)
Ooc: This RPG is to add on to my character Surge's (link in siggy) personality. Bring your character in however you want to.
Edit- If someone else wants to join as well, PM me first. Bic: Since Surge's conflict with a mysterious machine from his own time, he was not been able to return to his ship in fear that it was waiting for him. He saw its strength and knew that he would need help to beat it. So without a place to stay, he was forced to leave his beloved ship behind and find somewhere else to stay. He found himself on a dirt road, unsure of where it lead. The sun was high in the sky, beating down on his gordothian skin. Traveling for hours, he continued to trudge down the road. But something was not right. He could start to smell the scent of smoke, somewhere half a mile ahead or so. Surge knew something was up ahead. Whether it was a forest fire or a dragon, he took off in full sprint toward the smell. Now he could see the black smoke ascending into the sky, dying the blue sky black like thick ink. He aproached a hill in the road and slowed as he reached the top. "Dear God," Surge's mouth dropped wide open, shocked at the site. A city in flames, not something that would usually shock Surge. But the problem was was that the flames were not bright orange, but pitch black. Wide eyed, he slowly walked down the hill toward the city. It got worse as he got closer. Corpses littered the ground, each and every one of them missing a head. That's when he heard it, a small squeeking sound. Surge turned in direction of the noise and moved closer to it. It grew louder and more consistant as he aproached it. He stopped just short of the noise, realizing what it was. It was the sound of someone crying. The mutation turned the corner of a demolished building to see a young girl of about twelve, crying over a dead body. Her brown hair soaked by wet tears. Surge simply stood there for a minute, watching the girl cry over the carcas. Finally, she noticed him. "Don't hurt me!" She cried out through a series of sniffles. She grabbed a sword from the ground and waved it in front of her, "My father taught me everything he knew in sword play." tears began to pour from her eyes. "Oh please, quit your crying. It's not going to help anything." Surge frowned. This only made the girl cry harder, she dropped to her knees as the tear eruption grew worse. Something hit the gordothian in the chest for a brief second, he began to feel sorry for the girl. But the feeling quickly was lost, "Get up girl." Surge growled, "If you are going to be strong you have to learn to control your emotions." The girl looked up through her tears, her mouth trembling as she held back her crying to talk, "Havn't you ever lost someone dear to you?" "I don't have the burden of love or compasion." the mutation answered coldly as the girl bagan to cry again. After he said this, his nose picked up on the scent of another living thing aproaching from the road, "Hold on girl." Surge held up a hand, "Someone draws near." Re: A Heart Buried in a Monster (Anyone)
OoC: I'll join with Will in my sig.
BiC: The alchemist walked around a desrted town, looking for any sign of life, despite the fact people called it deserted. He checked houses and buildings that were once stores and the like. Bones littered the floors and they left an eerie feeling in this place. As he walked towards the exit, a cloaked man stared at him. Will didn't know why, but he felt he had seen this person before. Will tried to leave, but the man blocked his every way. "Please move sir," he said, "I must go now." "You can't leave," the man said, "I have something for you to do..." The man's voice trailed off as Will lost consciousness all of a sudden... He awoke on a pathway to see smoke rising. He ran to the source to see pitch black flames arising from buildings that burned. "Ishbala..." Will said as he ran into the burning place. The alchemist ran through the streets looking at the burning buildings and the rotting corpses. I can atleast rebuild the buildings and probably do something about the flames later, he thought as he clapped his hands. He slammed the ground and some blue lightning shot every which way around the burning city. Debris reattached to their former places like a jigsaw puzzle and some things that ere littered on the ground were used to replace some lost items. In time, the place had been rebuilt, but the flames ket going and it took a lot out of Will. He kneeled as the flames began their jobs once again. "How did you do that?" a voice asked. He turned around to see something with gray skin and yellow eyes staring at him. He wore red and blue pants and a belt. He was nowhere close to human, as far as Will could tell. For all he knew, this could be... "Did you do this?" Will asked him, pointing at the flames. "It was like that when I got here," he said with some spite in his voice.

Re: A Heart Buried in a Monster (Anyone)
Surge raised an eyebrow, "And I assume you didn't do this either." he glanced over at the deadly flames. He turned his attention back to the young girl, "Did you see who did this?"
The girl looked up from the body on the ground, tears still rolling from her eyes. She shook her head no and resumed her point on the ground, weeping over her dead father. Surge stared at the young girl, her own agony causing him pain. He tore his eyes from her and back to Will, "So how did you do that? Put those buildings back the way they were, what magic did you use?" Surge eyed the rebuilt buildings, watching the black flames consume it anyway. "Um, alchemy," Will said, simply, looking down at one of the corpses, "Did you notice how all of the bodies are missing their heads?" Surge had to block out the girl's crying again to answer, "Yeah, I noticed. Maybe he collects his victim’s skulls." "Or eats their brains," Will said sarcastically. He began to get a little annoyed over the girl's crying, "Look girl, crying isn't going to help anyone. He's dead and you can't change that." She jumped to her feet, "Shut up! You don't know anything! You have no idea how I feel!" She broke into tears once more, "My mom, my dad, my baby brother. Everyone I know is dead!" She dropped to her knees once more as she began to weep even harder. Surge decided yelling at her wouldn't help, he placed a large clawed hand on her shoulder to try and comfort her, "It will be ok." The girl threw her arms around him in a big hug and let out all her tears. "I'm scared." She cried. Surge gave Will an uncertain look, not knowing what to do. |

Re: A Heart Buried in a Monster (Anyone)
OoC: Using Mirra in sig.
BiC: Just as Surge was trying to contain the girl from crying a river, he heard a sudden loud noise. A wooden house just a couple feet away, had given in and collapsed under the poisonus flames. Wood was sent crumbling down to the earth, and the weeping girl let out another wail in horror. "Will you be quiet?" Will said annoyed of the girl's crying. Surge tried to calm her down, but he wasn't sucseeding. Suddenly, a rather muffled yell sounded from inside the house that had collapsed. "Hey ... someone is in there!" Surge pointed at a unregonizeable figure that was trying to scramble out of the fallen house debris. Will turned around too look,"Who are you?" he questioned cautiously. "Did you do cause this fire?" The small being was covered in complete black ash, but looked quiet harmless. Her figure suggested the person was female, but her attitude said otherwise. "Does it look like I would set a house on fire while I am still in it?" The stranger said bluntly. Coughing from the smoke, she trudged her way out of the wreckage and tried to whipe the black ash off her face. When she was close enough to the others, they were able to make out her features. Her face was young, and she wore no shoes. Two long twin blades were strapped at either side at her waist. Thus they decided she looked harmless, for the time being. "Whats wrong with her?" The girl said pointing to the weeping child in Surge's arms. "She has lost her family in the fire." Surge answered as he stood with the child hugging him. "Wait a minute, who are you to just go asking questions?" Will eyed the girl covered in ash, "Who are you?" "Mirra." She said bluntly, "Thats all. I got caught up in the house as it was burning." She dusted off her shirt and shorts. "What were you doing here?" Will asked again. He didn't care for meeting suspicious strangers that claimed to have no part in anything. And the child's innsesant crying was starting to irk him. "You want my name, or a biography of my life?" Mirra said annoyed. "Its no use in pestering her." Surge said finally. "Whoever caused this has more power to create such a disaster." His eyes scanned over the massive carnage of bodies and houses. This wasn't a simple accidential fire, this was done on purpose.

Re: A Heart Buried in a Monster (Anyone)
OOC: I guess I'll join too. I'm using The Dark Child, link in sig.
BIC: "What happened here?" TDC stood facing the burning village, the heat of the flames warming his skin. Something horrible had happened to the village. "Hello! Is anybody there?!" He called. The boy ran towards the burning town, hoping to find survivors when he reached it. "Hello!!!" He called out. When no reply came he started to explore the flaming town in the hopes of finding survivors, despite the fact that none had answered his call. The boy's feet felt incredibly hot due to the stone street. He was walking through what used to be the town square, but was now a flaming Hellhole. "Hello!!!" He called yet again. The child heard what sounding like muffled crying but dismissed it as just the wind. The heat in that town was overwhelming for the young demon. He found himself sweating like a pig being prematurely stuffed in an oven. "Ow!" He cried out. TDC had accidentally stepped on a rather sharp rock, leaving a spot of blood on the street. That's when he noticed something horrible. His blood wasn't the only blood on the street. Rather, the street was covered with both fresh and dried blood. Resisting the urge to vomit the boy continued to walk on. He was determined to find any and all people who had survived this horrible massacre. "Hell-" TDC was cut off mid sentence when a gray creature grabbed him from behind. He forced his way out of the creature's grip and turned to face it. Two females and a male accompanied the creature. One of the females, a young girl, was bawling her eyes out. "Are you responsible for what happened here?" Asked the gray creature. TDC turned one of Gorin's spirit orbs into a dagger behind his back. "No, are any of you?" He replied. His grip on the dagger tightened as he prepared for a possible fight. "No." Was the gray creature's short reply. He went back to the young girl, who was starting to loosen up with the crying. "Who are you?" Asked TDC. He didn't loosen his grip on the dagger for fear that these people would suddenly attack him.

Re: A Heart Buried in a Monster (Anyone)
Surge squinted, looking the boy from top to bottom, "My name is Project number thirty nine of the galactic federation, served under the order of the mighty warlord Slag for thirty four years. As for a name you may call me Surge."
He turned around toward the other three, "Beats the heck out of me who these people are, all I know is their names." TDC shook his head for a moment, "Wait, you served under command of a man called Slag?" Surge turned halfway and looked at him from the corner of his eye, "You know of him?" TDC nodded, "Yeah, why?" Surge stood there for a moment, remembering his encounter with the android at his ship. He had said he was sent by Igner, but he knew that Igner was in no position to give out such orders, "Do you know where he is?" Surge said all of a sudden. "Um," TDC thought for a moment, "I met him about a week ago." (Ooc: Let's say this takes place before Hunting for a Death Dealer) "Where?" Surge grabbed the boy by his shoulders and shook him, "Where did you see him?" "It was..." TDC thoguht for a moment, "Uh, it was..." another pause of silence, Surge began to get impation and squeezed tighter, "I can't remember the name of the city." Surge pulled his hands from Gorin's son and turned around frustrated. "Next time you better let me know, I had no clue he was stuck as well." Surge said, flabber gasted. His eyes made their way over to the girl who had been crying, she seemed to have stopped and was now sitting on the ground, arms foulded on her knees. "The runt, she's not going to make it anyware sulking." Surge turned his attention to the second newest person he met, a girl about three years older than the crying one. She was covered in a thin black ash that made her look like a chimney sweep. Finally, Surge turned back to the newest kid. There was something stange about this kid that he couldn't put his finger on, "So what's your name?" TDC shrugged, "I don't really have one. Some call me TDC." Surge raised an "eyebrow" quizically, "I won't ask what that means, but I'll just say DC. It takes less of a time to say." He turned back to the rest of the group, his eye catching something in the distance, "Well I don't know who did this, but I have an idea where he went." Surge smirked. "Huh, where?" Will asked with wonder. The twelve year old grabbed her short sword from the ground and jumped to her feet. Surge pointed in the direction he was looking. There was a long path of black grass and trees that lead across part of a field and through the woods, "I don't know about you, but I'm interested in seeing what caused this much damage." Re: A Heart Buried in a Monster (Anyone)
"I'm ready to go!" Will shouted, remembering the old man's words.
"What about this little girl?" Mirra asked, pointing at her. "We might as well take her along," TDC said, "She is ready to go." "Are you mad? Can she even use that thing?" the alchemist bursted out. "She told me her father taught her everything he knew, so she has to be of some use," Surge explained, "Besides, she might know the land a little better than any of us. Well, that and..." "And what?" Mirra asked. "Nothing, let's go, there's no time to waste!" Surg e shouted as he started to walk off first. Project 39 from the galactic what?, the alchemist thought, Something doesn't fit. Is this fate, like the military collapse in the State? Maybe it's a coincidence, but something about that old man fits in this? They walked along a path as they all reached, what they hoped to be, the creator of this madness. OoC: Short, I know, but school hurts, ya know?

Re: A Heart Buried in a Monster (Anyone)
OoC: Hope its alright, I gave the girl a name ... uh, unless if you planned on givning a certain name to her, i just named her katie. *shrugs* I didn't wanna call her 'girl' the whole time.
BiC: Surge took off walking at a swift pace. TDC followed right behind him, although there seemed to be a nervous and mysterious air about him. Mirra made it a mental note to keep an eye out for the nameless one. His appearance certainly wasn't usual, one eye a different color. "Hey, do you even know were we are going?" Mirra said as she ran past Will and tried to catch up with the massive Surge. "I have a sense, that going this way will lead us to something." Surge said with confidence, while looking and marching ahead. "Can you be any more vauge?" Mirra mumbled under her breath. "If you don't want to put up with us, then just stay behind." Will said from just behind Mirra as he caught up and shoved past her. Mirra was suprised that he heard this, and pretended to ignore his last statement. It was true, she had only been scavaging and theiving the town for food, as she had always done in the past to survive. But when suddenly a fire spread throughout the city, she got caught in the fire and was knocked out. Fortuneately, she had woken up before the building collapsed completely on her. As the group walked on, various thoughts entered her mind, "My duty here may not be known now ... but what harm in a little spying is there?" With this thought, she decided to follow along, and take note on these people. A little bit behind, the small girl was walking as fast as she could to catch up. Mirra turned around and saw the child running eagerly with her small sword in hand. Stopping for a second, Mirra walked to the young girl. With as much friendlyness as she could, Mirra asked the girl if she had a name. The girl didn't respond, she was still shaken. "I'm not going to bite you kid." Mirra said after getting impatient. "What's your name?" "My name is Katie." She said quickly. Mirra nodded, and motioned for her to catch up with TDC and Will. Surge was in the lead still. Ahead of them lay a dense and dark forest, and the path started to become less and less visible. TDC seemed almost skiddish, and the others occasionally thought they saw things in the forest.

Re: A Heart Buried in a Monster (Anyone)
Surge bent down to examine the grass, "This is strange."
TDC bent down next to him, "What's strange?" "This grass, it's black but it's not scorched," He plucked one of the blades of grass from the ground and examined it closely, "it's cold." He placed it in DC's hand as he walked up to a tree that also was black just like the grass, it looked twisted as if it was dead, "This tree is also cold," he placed his hand against it, "I wonder what happened." He pushed off the tree and continued moving along the path that seemed to get more narrow as they moved on. Katie was strugling on, Mirra had to constantly encourage her to keep moving for the others were moving at much too fast a pace for her, "Hey Surge, mind slowing your giant butt down a little? Katie can't keep up!" "Who's Katie?" He responded without looking back or slowing down. Mirra rolled her eyes, "The homeless girl!" Surge shrugged, "It's not my problem, carry her." he growled, the path was getting very thin now but was getting fresher if that was even possible to tell. Mirra growled, "The least you could do is slow down." Katie gasped for breath as they ran, "It's ok, I can keep up." She lied. "See? She's doing fine." Surge began to slow down anyway. "Sure, now you slow down." Will grumbled. "The path just ends," Surge said, obviously baffled, "I don't understand, it's as if he just flew away." TDC looked up at the tops of the trees, "Maybe he did." He pointed up, showing that parts of the tops of the trees were black. Surge nodded, "I see," he pulled a small plant from the ground and squeezed the water from it down his throat, "I think I've picked up his scent though, I may be able to track him but we will have to move quickly."
