The Crossroads

The Battle Arena, as most of you know, is where spars, competitions, and life-or-death conflicts between characters occur in all their blazing glory. Now the Crossroads, on the other hand, is a place for characters to interact in ways that don’t directly involve battle. Anything from quests to pleasant conversations to political debates can occur here--all in-character, of course. But let one thing be made clear: There is to be no lengthy battles in the Crossroads. While brief conflicts between characters for the sake of development is encouraged, battle-related things should not be the focus of an RPG.

There is one striking similarity, of course, and that is to have fun. Now, observe the rules carefully.


1.) All regular forum rules apply, including the rules against spamming and flaming.

2.) You must have an approved character to participate in the Crossroads. If you do not have an approved character yet, read this thread for information on how to get one.

3.) Please keep your RPG’s in a certain person. A person means that you are writing either in 1st Person, using "I", "me", etc. acting as if you were your own character in the RP, or that you are using 3rd Person, speaking as if you were an outsider watching the two or more characters battle. In 3rd Person, it is more common to control more then just your own character.

4.) You cannot use another person's character to begin an RPG. While controlling another player’s character is not strictly prohibited, it is advised that you avoid doing so as much as possible. Each character belongs to the person who made it and not you.

5.) Make sure you've read about the other person's character before RP’ing them. If you are to be using their character [in an RPG], then you should at least know what they look like, if not more then that.

6.) When you wish to talk out of character, type "OoC" (meaning "Out of character"). Use "BiC" (Back in character) when you wish to write in character once again.

7.) Try to type at least one or two paragraphs of in-character RP’ing with each post. This is not a chat room, and we'd rather you write few long posts than many short ones. There can be days, weeks, or even a month+ between replies in RP's.

8.) The Crossroads is for RPG’s only. Battle-oriented events must be kept in the Battle Arena forum only. If you are unsure where the battle/RPG you want to host should be placed, get permission from an Arena moderator or a super moderator first.

9.) Graphic sex scenes will not be tolerated; any written sexual acts will be received with an instant perma-ban from the ZU forums. In short, DON'T DO IT.

10.) Make sure bad feelings in role-playing don't carry over to the rest of the forum. We have the Battle Arena and its subservient, the Crossroads, for the sake of having fun.

11.) Any breaking of these rules can lead to a warning, and possibly a ban, as everywhere else on the forums. The Crossroads' rules must be adhered to strictly, as it is a new forum. Excessive breaking of these rules, especially number 9, may result in the permanent termination of this forum. We gave it life, and we'll take it away if we have to.
