The War of the Triforce - Legends (Fan Fic, Co-op Story)

The Legend has never died. A boy, clothed in green, wielding the blade of evil’s bane... fighting evil throughout the lands... never yielding... never stopping his quest to banish evil... never failing. But age takes its toll. With his spirit forever sealed in the Triforce of Courage, and with his Love’s spirit forever sealed in the Triforce of Wisdom, he breathed his dying breath with hers, and passed on.
10,000 years later, Hyrule lays in Chaos. Although the spirits of the Hero of Time and his wife keep two of the three pieces of the Sacred Triforce in contro and hidden from those who might abuse theml, the Triforce of Power runs unchecked. While its counterparts remained sealed away by the Spirits, the Triforce of Power is passed from hand to hand, from traitor to assassin... no person holds it for more then a week before they are killed and a new one takes their place. Blood stains the ground from the wars caused over its awesome power.
The common people are powerless against these Demi-Gods... the Triforce of Power seems to corrupt all who touch it, all who experience it. The only way to quell it is to find its counterparts and use them against it. A task easier said then done.
But I, along with friends, intend to do just that... or die trying...

CHARACTER PROFILE

First Name: Fox
Last Name: Unknown
Occupation: Woodsman/Ranger
Alignment: Good
Place of Birth: Hyrule Forest
Age: 25 years
Race: Hylinian
Physical Description and Attributes: Wearing a full length hooded cloak constantly, it is hard to see his brown hair and green eyes, but they do exist. He is well built and very agile, and his life in the woods have made him able to climb most surfaces. He forgoes a shield and prefers to wield a long sword in each hand. He is also quite skilled with a bow. He has been known to “charge” weapons with a given elemental power, something totally unique and unheard of since the Hero of Time passed on. So far, fire, ice, and lightning have been seen.

Personality: Somewhat of a loner, Fox would normally prefer to work alone. However, he is willing to do anything to end the madness that has engulfed Hyrule and all its lands. It is not uncommon for him to wonder off on his own only to appear hours later without an explanation. He prefers silent and quick combat to an all out slaughter of enemy forces. He would rather shoot an arrow into someone’s neck then engage in a sword fight.

Armament: Two Long Swords, Bow and Arrows.
Armor: Leather

Companion: Jetlag
Race: Falcon
Alignment: Good

Notes: Fox and Jetlag seem to be able to understand each other on some level. Although they can’t actually “talk”, they do have a special link of some sort. Jetlag has served Fox well both as a scout, and as a combat partner. His razor sharp claws can break through even the toughest armor. Like all falcons, he is also a natural hunter.

I would like to turn this into one big interactive story. Play hero or villain, but make it fair. No, I am not the leader of the heroes, someone else can take that role if they please. It should also be a rule that you can’t kill another player’s character without their permission. That way someone doesn’t go on vacation only to find out their character(s) has/have been dead for a week now. Each character should have one unique talent. Like, yeah, my guy can use two swords at once, but that’s not totally unique. I’m sure others can do that as well. But he has the unique power of charging weaponry. Try not to copy other people’s talents. If you’re so uncreative you can’t think of something someone else didn’t already do, maybe you shouldn’t write in this story.

Yes, I do plan to include more classic elements into this story, or anyone willing to join the story could do so themselves. Finding the Wind Waker, wielding the Master Sword, Link’s personal bow, etc. should all be parts of this.

------------------------------------------

Fox awoke with a start and instantly drew one of his swords from his bedside. Jetlag screeched above the trees over head. Fox’s eyes narrowed, “Mobolins...”

The three mobolin soldiers sniffed around inside the camp site. Someone was here recently... the leader grunted to one of his soldiers to go around the back. As he looked to his other soldier, he yelped in surprise. The other soldier stumbled for bit, an arrow protruding out of his back. Another arrow flew, charged with the power of fire. The squad leader watched in horror as he companion lit ablaze, charring his outsides as well as his insides. Quickly regaining control of himself, he turned to face the direction of the threat, in the tree limbs somewhere.

Fox smiled as he admired his handiwork. “Jetlag,” he whispered, “get the one around the back.” Jetlag silently flew off as Fox turned to face his next target. The mobolin looked up at the tree with piercing eyes. “Down I go!” Fox announced, hopping down from the tree, putting his bow away and unsheathing his swords in one swift motion. The mobolin raised his weapon high above his head and took a mighty swing. Fox ducked below and slashed at the mobolin’s legs, putting a huge gash across them. The mobolin stumbled backwards with a cry of pain, but then only became further enraged. Swinging wildly, he wanted to finish Fox in one blow. Left, right, duck, roll... Fox evaded the rage of the mobolin. Finally, blocking one of the mobolin’s wild swings with his right sword, Fox plunged his left sword through the beast’s chest. It struggled violently for a bit as blood seeped out, but finally gave up and died. “Better see how Jetlag is fairing…” Fox muttered to himself, kicking the dead body’s head.

Jetlag swooped in, dodging the desperate swings of the mobolin. Jetlag raked his claws across his face, blinding him. Realizing all was lost, he began to run for it, unfortunately going straight into Fox’s waiting sword.

“Good work,” Fox smiled as he tossed Jetlag a treat out of his belt bag. Fox thought for a second and nodded. “We need supplies before we head out. Let’s head for New Kakriko Village. Stock up and see if we can find any clues about where our road will take us.”

---------------------------------------------
New Kakriko Village was bustling with activity. Fox glanced out from under his hood, looking for the place he needed. The sky quickly grew a hazy orange... then faded to a deep fiery red. The citizens halted, Fox gritted his teeth preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. A sudden explosion rocked a near by building throwing the citizens to the ground. Fox a few others stood their ground, ready to face the horror they knew probably ensued this kind of demonstration. It was a world tour for the new holder of the Triforce of Power... whomever it was this time.

“Ladies and Gentlemen!” A voice cackled, “May I present myself, your new lord for the remainder of your life times, Lord Sukasa!” A bright flash went off, and smoke surrounded the middle of town. The wind blew the smoke away, leaving an enormous man, grown to size over 8 feet tall by the power of the Triforce, floating inches above the ground. “How are you my fine subjects?” Sukasa laughed to himself, “good I hope.”

As a sneer spread across his face, an arrow flew through his body from behind. His face screwed into an expression of hatred as he turned to face the assailant, a man of 30 or so years. Sukasa raised his hand and the man floated up along with it. “So, you think a stupid arrow is going to take me out? How dumb do you think I am? This is merely my image being projected!” Sukasa clenched his fist tight... the sickening sound of every bone in the man’s body snapping and crumbling followed. Sukasa dropped the man and smiled gleefully. “Any other takers?” Silence filled the air. “Well, at least he tried. And his efforts should be rewarded!” Sukasa snapped his fingers and the town was suddenly filled with mobolin guards. “Ta ta!” Sukasa laughed manically as he disappeared into the smoke.

The citizens screamed for their lives as they attempted to flee from the monsters pillaging their towns. Fox drew his swords. A bright crackle of electricity coursed through one as he hacked a limb from a mobolin soldier. The soldier fell to the ground, his heart stopping due to the jolt of electricity. “One down…” Fox sighed to himself, “couple dozen more to go!”

I can be reached at spfox@comcast.net or AIM Fox5000 I think this could be a great story if we all just work together. We've been doing a story like this over at Total Annihilation Universe (tauniverse.com) now for over 3 years (except it was set in the world of Total Annihilation) and it died down just recently.

Question bumpity bump

Anyone else interested in this? I might be able to make time for another one of the coop stories, but I will find it a lot harder to get the motivation if me and Fox have to play off each other for ages before anyone else gets interested.

I'll be willing to start off playing the eeeeeevil characters, to facilitate movement of the plot. (unless someone shows up who really wants to be the only evil person around, in which case I am also happy to oblige)

Also what direction did you have in mind for the story? Okay, so we have our background idea with the Triforce of Power switching hands over and over again, but what about the general direction?

Ah screw it, I'll just write and hope I'm picking up a good idea

----

The cloaked figures stood around a fire deep in the subterrainian caves. Some would call them bounty hunters, others would call them ninja, or thieves- they called themselves the many.

The one stepped forward. Tanis. Tanis didn't control the many, per se, but rather provided them with direction. There were consequences for being stupid, but not for simply disagreeing. His face was lit harshly by the small fire. Somebody in the back sneezed, and then quivered with a sort of fear that comes from not knowing if you will be punished or not.

Tanis spoke.
"Too long. We all know it has been much too long. The originals kept their knowledge safe, and only we know the full legend of the Triforce. Fools, beggars, warriors, idiots- they all wish to get some small part of it, become the one of Power for a day, a week, a month. I propose something... different.

"For years we have successfully avoided mentioning it, worrying about it, thinking about the possibilities. I am not a selfish leader. I do not want the Triforce for myself. No... I propose that we find the first ever one of Power. I propose that we find Ganon."

Nervous shifting. Some of the wiser ones nodded. It solved the problem- none who thought they possessed power would challenge Ganon.

"How do we find him?" A voice emerged.
"Him? Who says Ganon will be a man this time? No. We must follow the signs. Find the flame that burns darker than red. Rescue him from the clutches of Time."

"What of the Legend then?" The same voice continued its challenge.
"We know the truth of the Legend. The gods all but abandoned Hyrule. Ganon will either lie below us, sealed in Hyrule, or above us, living on in his ancestors... we must find out which it will be, before we can proceed. Then, under Ganon, we can easily accomplish our goals. They are Ganon's goals, too, after all."

Nods came from across the fireplace. Tanis bowed, and extinguished the fire.

"We meet in a moon. I will be contacting many of you shortly."

Helping things progress

OOC: If it takes either of you two more than a minute to figure out who I am I'll be ashamed of both of you!

Name: Gola Salenus
Race: Hylian
Age: 28?
Occupation: Soldier
Alignment: Neutral
Place of Birth: ????
Weapons: A long sword(Yamiji[Dark Road]) and various knives.
Armor: Mostly leather, steel pauldrons & boots, fingerless gloves.

Appearance: Dark blue hair and silvery blue eyes, stands roughly 5'7, bears a deep scar down the middle of his chest from a run-in with an 'old friend'. Wears a red cloak and an odd talisman at all times.

Edit: Now to finish things where I left off.

Description: He's taciturn, never having been around people very long except on the battle field. For a soldier, he's very picky about what he eats. He doesnt like to see other people that he's working with get hurt, preferring instead to put his own life on the line.

Special Ability: Sand
- Sand enables Gola to melt into the very sand he's walking on, allowing him to move silently and undetected(save for against one who has the ability to see through magics). This ability can allow him to squeeze through cracks in walls. The biggest drawback is that the ground he's on must be made of sand.

Re: The War of the Triforce - Legends (Fan Fic, Co-op Story)

I had a post typed up but I guess I timed out so it was lost.

Character: Garth (real name unknown)
Age: 25,800 years
Race: Human (immortal)
Alignment: Good
Physical desc: 5'8, 180 lbs, brown hair. His physical strength is unremarkable. He became immortal after he stumbled into his first other dimension, and managed to get in the way of a necromancer's immortality ritual. Since then he has wandered among many universes trying to find a way back to his home. In the beginning he was a renowned weakling although interdimensional wandering has provided enough exercise that he is now almost average. His favorite weapon is a two-bladed sword that he recently found. Every fight that he has used the weapon in resulted in him accidentally killing himself, but he insists on continuing to use it because it's such a cool weapon.

Armament: A two bladed sword.
============

A young-looking man was in a cave with six other people. One of them, the leader Jon, waved his lantern toward a large crevice. "I think this might lead to an exit," he said. "Come on. I feel wind." Jon squeezed through the crevice. "It's a tight squeeze, though." Everyone began squeezing through the crack.
The largest member of the group, Tim, complained. "If we hadn't gone into the dragon's lair, the dragon wouldn't have chased us into the caves, and we'd probably be getting drunk at this time." Tim tried to go through the crevice, but he didn't fit. He was only slightly chubby. The real problem was that he was six foot ten. Tim shouted, "I can't fit!"
Jon started coming back. "We'll find another way out then."
"No, go on out! I think I can see the problem. It's just that one lumpy formation that you're barely getting under. If it could be broken off I could get out. Just go, and come back with a chisel."
Jon finally agreed. "Okay." They left.
An hour later the young-looking man returned. "Everyone's out. Jon sent me back here with water for you. You may be stuck here until tomorrow."
Tim replied, "Thanks."
The other person suddenly commented. "What's this? Tim, get up to that lumpy formation. Is there a hole to your left anywhere near you, at chest level?"
Tim felt around and answered. "Yes."
"Stick your head into it. Can you see any light from my lantern?"
"Yeah! I can see your lantern. Looks like a big hole."Tim said.
"Let me try first, then you can go through it." The young-looking person crawled into the side hole and eventually came out on Tim's side. "It's pretty much horizontal. I poured some oil behind me to help you if it gets tight. After you."
Tim crawled in, and came out on the other side of the obstruction. Tim went ahead and found daylight a couple hundred feet ahead. He went back to check on the other person. "Hey, man, you still there?"
"I'm still here. I'm coming through now. Whoa...." There was silence.
Tim shouted into the hole. "Hey! What's going on? I never found out your name, anyway." There was no reply. Tim stood there, shouting into the hole for the next hour. "I guess he's gone." Tim walked out to rejoin his other companions.

The other person, as he was crawling through the hole, suddenly saw a weak flash of green light form a wall in front of him. It was this to which he said, "whoa," after which he crawled into the swirling green wall of energy, which was a transdimensional gate to some other world, maybe his home.

On the other side he found himself inside a large hollow log. He crawled out and surveyed his surroundings. He was in a clearing in a forest. There was a stream to his left, which he followed up to an enormous tree. It didn't look that unusual, which meant this might be a relatively normal world. By that he meant one without any magic or bizarre creatures. Was this home? He walked arond the tree, and saw that he was not home yet, for the huge tree had eyes, a nose, and a mouth. The eyes turned in his direction and the tree spoke.
"You came here to see me? No. You stumbled here from another world. Yes. You don't believe you have a purpose. You have saved worlds before in your wanderings. It appeared to be an accident each time. You often got killed in the process, but that doesn't matter because you are immortal. Who is to say you weren't destined to save those worlds? Who is to say you do not have a purpose here?"
"Wow, you're good," the young-looking man muttered.
"I can see into people's souls. I've gotten better at it over the centuries. Not much else to do, being a tree, heh," it chuckled.
"I guess."
"I am the Deku Tree, the guardian spirit of the forest. This world is in chaos. The power of the gods is being tossed around like a hot vegetable. On top of that there are those who desire to reawaken an ancient evil. I have had to protect my forest these past years. I have had to bend reality itself so that none can find the heart of these woods. Something rests here that contains the power to destroy the evil that is consuming this world. I'm telling you because the time is coming for the power to be used. I charge you to find the one pure enough to use this power. "
"Wow. Five minutes and I've already got a quest," the man said. What should I call myself here? I'm bored with freaky names, he thought. "My name is... Garth," he said.
"Very well, Garth. Go and find someone who is not corrupted by power, and bring that person to me," the Deku Tree said.
"I will do that," Garth said. He drew his two-bladed sword, inspected it, then put it back and set off, headed out of the forest.

Re: The War of the Triforce - Legends (Fan Fic, Co-op Story)

"Heylo!" Fox yelled, as he sliced through his adversary with a fire charged sword.

Jetlag shrieked as he dove downwards towards his intended target. Digging his claws into the mobolin's forehead, he caused blood to come gushing out, blinding his enemy. He then made another pass, this time aiming for the neck.

The battle raged on a bit longer. Soon, the armed guards and the collection of ragged townspeople were able to push back the moblins, forcing them out of the village.

-------------------------------------------

"Heh..." Fox laughed to himself a bit as he looked at his blood soaked cloak, "just had this cleaned."

He stood alone in the town square. The guards and townsfolk who had survived the melee were being tended too in houses. The ones who weren't so lucky laid strewn around him, their blood flowing into the already stained ground. Men, women, and worst of all... children.

"This has got to stop. This isn't a life, this is madness," Fox muttered to himself, sickened by the scene of a mother weeping over the fallen body of her lifeless child.

Jetlag floated down onto Fox's sholder and chirped in agreement.

"Come on Jetlag," Fox said turning away, "let's get what we came for... and then head to the bar. Probably the best place to get information. Seedy places full of drunks are always a good place to get information."

--------------------------------------------------------------

"This place smell like piss," Fox grumbled under his breath.

"Hey buddy!" the bartender yelled to Fox, "your birdbrain is going to have to wait outside!"

Fox sighed then nodded. Without a word, Jetlag took flight and flew out a near by window. "You're lucky he's in a good mood," Fox laughed from beneath his cloak, "last guy who called Jetlag a birdbrain got their throat ripped out by him."

"Don't start with me buddy, I've had enough crap for one day."

"As have I."

Fox took his seat, ordered, and then scoped out the scene for someone who might know something. Someone who looked like they didn't belong in a place like this.

Cool

Less than an hour earlier......

Gola swung his sword, biting into the chest of one of the Moboblins. It shrieked for help, but was soon silenced as Gola tore the sword loose and smashed the Moboblins face with the hilt.

The Moboblins were being pushed back, but still continued to fight with the same savage ferocity they had started with. One of them knocked Gola to the ground, then prepared to impale him. It hand't noted what it had knocked the soldier onto.

'The path leading to Death Mountain..... The ground here is grainier than in the square...' On that thought, Gola melted into the ground beneathe him, just as the Moboblin stabbed down. In utter confusion, it failed to note the sandy path shifting under its feet.

By the time it realized something was amiss, Gola had already reformed himself and stabbed it through the head.

Present time....

Gola sat, sipping his drink and thinking. The bar was particularly raucous today. Some people weeping over the lost, other shouting and cheering because of the 'victory' over the Moboblins, still others just drunk out of their minds. Gola didn't care. All he cared about right now was reaching the bottom of this tankard without interuption.

Re: The War of the Triforce - Legends (Fan Fic, Co-op Story)

Mmmkay. Here comes more.

-----------------------------------------

Garth paused before continuing. He might not come back to this plce any time soon. He turned and went behind the Deku Tree. There were the hollowed remains of a massive ancient tree stump. He walked into the hollow and looked around. There was some kind of stone monument in the middle of the hollow. It was a short but wide pyramid with stairs going up one side. Garth ascended the stairs to find a small pedestal at the top with a sword lodged in it. The pedestal had a curious triangular design on it, with three colored triangles forming a single large triangle. Under the design was some kind of writing which Garth did not recognize. The sword's hilt was made mostly of a blue metal, and the blade had a similar triangular design engraved on it. Garth reached toward the sword and grasped hold of it. A tingling sensation immediately shot up his arm and seemed to evoke a certain feeling in his mind; it gave an impression of friendly admonishment, like if he had eaten the last piece of meat at someone's table or used someone else's favorite towel.

Garth tried to pull the sword out, but it didn't move. "Oh, well," he said. He left the hollow and eventually found his way onto a trail. After about half an hour he heard something rustle close behind him. He turned around, noting that the sound seemed to have come from behind a bush. When he further inspected his surroundings he realized there was a stream behind him where there was none before. The bush was on the other side of the stream. Garth took out his weapon and cautiously crossed the stream. There was nothing behind the bush. Satisfied, he returned to his path. Just after crossing the stream again, he heard another rustle. Before he could turn around, something of considerable mass struck Garth in the back of the head, and he was unconscious.

He came to only two minutes later, but he was already tied to a pole being carried on the backs of what looked like man-sized weasels with red fur. Each of them had a boomerang hanging from their belts. As he didn't want to be whacked in the head again, he pretended to be unconscious for the remainder of the trip. He eventually was brought to a clearing with a few tents and a large campfire. The pole was set down, while the two weasel creatures seemed to be talking to a chieftain, as the third one was wearing a random assortment of jewelry and a hat decorated with teeth. Garth couldn't understand a word of the conversation, but there was the occasional gesture toward him and the fire. He decided to "wake up" and start wriggling. The weasel creatures' discussion was over, so there wasn't any time for Garth to escape. The pole he was tied to was positioned over the fire and used as a spit. He could feel his face baking already. It really hurt, so he started screaming. The spit was turned around and around, so he was being evenly roasted on all sides. His flesh was starting to become truly cooked, but he was still screaming. The weasel creatures were beginning to mumble amongst each other, and a couple of the took pots full of some kind of spicy liquid and tossed the liquid at Garth. As it contained something like lemon juice, Garth's tortured screaming suddenly surged to a new level, with a brief pause when he licked his lips and discovered that the marinade was pretty good. Even fifteen minutes later he was still screaming. The chieftain was looking surprised for some time, but now he stood up, raised his hand, and said something. Four of the creatures left and came back with buckets full of mud and put out the fire. The spit was dismantled and Garth was carried into the chieftain's tent. The chieftain drew out a small cloth bag, which turned out to contain a sphere of some kind of glowing green stone.
"This magic stone allows all who are near it to understand each other," the chief said. "I am Chieftan Kaburik of the Red Goriya. Who are you and how did you get so deep into the Lost Woods?"
"My name is Garth and I am a traveler who stumbled here from another world."
"You scream like a little pig. How can you survive being cooked?"
"I'm immortal," Garth groaned.
"I see. I expect my people will start worshiping you. Do you... intend to... take command of my tribe?" the chieftain asked.
"No, I just want to get on my way," Garth said.
"Ah, good. In that case I should get by with granting you a place of honor among our tribe." The chief pointed at Garth's thoroughly roasted body. "How long will it be before you recover?"
"I expect it will take about two days for everything to... ah... grow back," Garth said.
Kaburik winced for a moment. "I see. We can accomodate you for that time. You may rest here for now." He left. Garth fell asleep soon afterward.

Re: The War of the Triforce - Legends (Fan Fic, Co-op Story)

Fox looked to his right, spotting Gola three stools down. The way he dressed, looked and behaved, he clearly wasn't from the area.

"From here, you look a lot more like a royal guard than a bar fly," Fox said, not really looking at Gola, giving him more of a sidelong glance, "What brings one such as yourself to these parts?"

Gola looked down at his tankard, which was now empty. Almost ignoring the fact that he'd been adressed, Gola muttered, "Barkeep, another ale," then tossed some more rupees his way. "I don't like being asked questions about what I'm doing by people I don't know. If you properly introduce yourself, I'll answer." Gola looked half-heartedly at the barkeep and his drink, "However, that will have to wait until after I finish this drink."

Re: The War of the Triforce - Legends (Fan Fic, Co-op Story)

1 hour earlier in the fight in Kakariko.

Leo a young blond boy ran and hid ina an alley. He sat with his back against the cold brick wall. His eyes were red with tears slipping down his cheeks. Arrows hissed past the opening of the alley. His family were all slaughtered. He was all that was left. He saw a masive bulky moblin with large muscles run past the hopening roaring, then he heard a loud slicing sound and a head rolled in through the alley stopping at his feet. He panicked and kicked it with a yell. It rolled back out of the alley.

"Hey kid" a voice that sounded like a whisper. Leo turned his head to see a soldier with a stab wound above and the right of his hip. Leo got startled, then man said "dont worry I wont hurt you". "What do you want?" asked Leo with a scared look on his face. The man pulled out a sword from under his mail shirt. "Take this" he said, "it will help you". Leo grabbed the scabbard, he asked "what can I do with this? I dont know anything about swords". The soldier wheezed right before he said "you may not know how to use this but you must leave this place as quickly as possible. May this not have to be used as a last deffense". The man leaned forward dead. Leo jumped up. He looked at the sword still in its scabbard. The sword was a foot and a half long. He hadnt had enough time to tie it around his waist so he tucked it in his shirt and ran out of the alley as quickly as his feet could carry him. He glanced behind him to see the souldier in the alley getting smaller and smaller. He turned his head back around to run smack into the masive bulky moblin he had just seen.

He fell on to his back with a red face, the rocks dug themselves into his body. It was a horrible pain. But then the rocks disappered from his feelings. He felt limp. He opened his eyes to see he was upside down. The huge moblin had lifted him from the ground by his foot. The huge moblin lifted Leo to his face smiling. Heh heh, "Gormag" he said as he turned around to face a lesser moblin. "Yes Snobron" said the other moblin. "I think I have found dinner" said Snobron. "Lets retreat" said Snobron my troops are getting killed. Gormag called a retreat and the other moblins turned the other way retreating.

Leo swayed in Snobron's hand. His sword starting falling out of his shirt. Remembered about the sword. Leo pulled out his sword from under his shirt. Snobron didnt notice what Leo was doing. Leo then swung as hard as he could cutting out the moblins right eyeball. Snobron roared in pain losing his grip of Leo. Leo fell to the ground imediately got up and ran away from the remaining moblins. "Kill him!!!" demanded Snobron, "Fire all arms!!!". "Sir" said another moblin "we have no more arrows and we are to weak to go after him. "You idiots!!!" yelled Snobron as he whipped out his huge sword and sliced the moblins neck open, blood gushed out and got everywhere on the victim.

"I swear" said Snobron, "I swear I will kill that puny kid!!!"

Leo had never ran so fast in his life. The moblins seemed like specks. He looked at his surroundings. It was Hyrule field that reached as far as the eye could see. "Now what?" he asked himself, "what do I do?"

You might not want to since it wouldnt be as original and sorta like copying. But if you want to go ahead nobody is stopping you from what I know.

As long as no one will have anything against me if I use this idea. What i want to write should'nt be like the Marth guy. He won't be immortal and he will only go to one other universe than his own. I should have it writen in a day or two. Oh one other thing, this is the first time I will be doing something like this.

Re: The War of the Triforce - Legends (Fan Fic, Co-op Story)

Looks like it didn't take me long after all. Hope you don't mind the double post. Well here it is.
Hope you like it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jake Smith was the average six-foot man in America. His occupation was a lieutenant commander in swat. He is trained for any kind of combat and is an expert with any weapon you could imagine. He has also been known to do detective work from time to time. His latest case was about a string of disappearances that have happened very close to each other. Most of them were in crowded streets in the middle of the day, there was always blinding flash when it happened.

He was just getting back from another drug raid when he got another missing persons report. It was the same story as the rest so he went to his map of the city and placed a pin on the location of were it happened. He took a step back and studies all of the pins that represented the weird reports. He started thinking of all the stories he heard and the reports from the police and other detectives.

The most common story was that it was alien abduction but there was no way of telling. The police and the detectives that were put on the case could not find anything. Then he started to really look at the map for a pattern. Oddly it was in the shape of a triangle with several little triangles in it. It wasn’t complete because one of the points was missing. Ironically he never bothered to look for a pattern like that.

He hurried to his computer and put the symbol in to look for any related content. After several moments the computer came up with no match. That put him down for a second but he perked up after remembering that he located were the next disappearance should be. The commander was out on assignment so he had to get his radio out.

“Commander this is Jake, I know were the next disappearance will be.”

“Good work. Round up your men and equipment to check it out.”

“Will do sir, over and out.” He headed to the P.A. system and activated it. “Now here this, I want all on duty officers to dawn their light armor and survival packs. We will be moving out shortly.” With that announcement everyone including Jake was strapping on their light full body armor and packing the survival packs. Every one crammed into the vans and headed out.

__________________________________________________ __

It took half an hour to reach the building that was their destination. He gave an order to fan out and search the building. It took two hours for them to search the building and reach the last room. Jake wanted to personally open the last door and search it. He opened the door and stepped through at the same time. As soon as his foot hit the ground there was a bright flash. It took several moments for every ones eyes to readjust and clear up. It didn’t take a detective to figure out who disappeared this time because there was no one at the door and nothing on the other side.

Re: The War of the Triforce - Legends (Fan Fic, Co-op Story)

It's fine. Anyway:
----------------------
The next morning, Garth noticed that he was almost completely recovered. There were a few sore spots on his back, but otherwise he was fine. He remembered that such an injury took longer to recover from in the past. Perhaps his ability to regenerate was improving, becoming faster? To confirm that would require... getting injured again. Garth shuddered. There was a set of clothing laid next to his bed. It looked similar to the chieftain's clothing, except without any decorations. There was a brown tunic, boots, everything he needed. A minute after he was dressed Kaburik peeked into the tent.
"Oh, you're awake. Are you well?" he asked.
"More so than I thought I would be. I could go now," Garth said.
"So much the better. My people have decided that you are a god. They will expect you to kill me and take leadership of the tribe, and neither of us are interested in that happening. My plan is like this: It is our custom to have a ceremony before the first meal of the day. All the tribe will be gathered at the fire to pray. If you sneak out the back of this tent, you will have at least half an hour to get on your way before anyone else leaves the camp again. I left something in your belt pouch to help you find your way out of the forest. In the Lost Woods, the straight path is more crooked than the winding path. Now, I must go perform my ceremonial duties. Go, now.
Garth lifted up the back of the tent and crawled under it. The clearing extended a hundred feet, and then there was trees. He stayed low and headed into the woods. He continued for several minutes. He sat down on a rock and looked in his pouch to see what was in there. A blue circular object that looked a bit like a clock at first, but was actually a compass. Heading north would be the easiest to think about, so he stood up and began walking north. After several minutes, he came out at a clearing with the Goriya camp. He looked down at the compass and north was in the opposite direction.
"What? I've been going straight! This compass is messed up!" Garth exclaimed. He shook it, but as he checked it, it did not change where it pointed.
The straight path is more crooked than the winding path...
The chieftain's advice resurfaced in Garth's mind. "I'll have to pay closer attention to the compass."

Garth headed north again. He checked behind him and thought he saw some of the Goriyas leave the camp. After a minute the needle began turning. He followed where the compass pointed north. Each time the needle turned Garth followed it. Eventually he came to a stream that looked like the place where he was captured the day before. He took that as proof the compass method was working, and went on for the next four hours following north according to the compass. Then, he saw a wooden sign. There seemed to be two things on the sign. Though the writing was alien to him, the small pictures suggested the meaning. The first message was marked by an arrow pointing back the way Garth came from, with a red X painted over the arrow. The second was marked by a picture of two houses, an arrow pointing along a path going to the northwest. Garth followed that path, noticing that there was more light coming in through the trees and that the compass wasn't behaving erratically anymore.

Pretty soon Garth was out of the forest, looking towards a village. It was a troubling sight. One building was on fire. Many of the buildings looked like they had been repaired at least ten times, and a few of them looked like they had been recently burned. Clearly, buildings were set on fire frequently in this town. It seemed that he would get killed more than once in this place. He wrapped his hand around his two-bladed sword for reassurance. It sounded like there was fierce fighting going on inside the town. Maybe Garth could sneak in the south gate and duck into the nearest building without being noticed.
When Garth reached the gate, he did just that. The only other armed people were busy fighting. However, the door was locked. He knocked a few times. An eye appeared in a small hole in the door, then opened. A solid-looking man opened the door, grabbed Garth, pulled him into the house, and shut the door.
"Who are you?" the man asked in a sharp whisper.
"I'm just... a traveler," Garth said.
"This is New Kakariko. Nobody comes here just for food and lodging. People go out of the way to avoid this place. What do you want here?"
"I don't know. I have to do something, and if it involves being here, I'd rather do it now than find out I have to come back," Garth said.
"Sounds reasonable enough. What is it you have to do here? Don't worry, you can trust me. Ask anyone who's helped the most travelers get in and out of here safely and they'll say 'Alten'. That's me."
"Would you take me seriously if I told you a giant tree told me to find someone?" Garth asked.
"Depends. If you mean the Deku Tree that is said to reside in the center of the Lost Woods, I would ask how you got so far into the Lost Woods. People go in there and are either lost or turned around and they come back out where they went in, even though they swear they were going straight."
"I started in the center. That's where I came into this world from somewhere else. One minute I was exploring a cave, next thing I crawled out of a hollow log in front of the Deku Tree. He told me to find someone who is not corrupted by power and take him to the Tree," Garth explained.
"I see. It does sound hard to believe, but you're looking here. There's something about this town. Whoever has the Triforce of Power spends a lot of time here. They seem to be looking for something here, a book called the Book of Mudora. They are also paranoid about certain children. All the girls are carefully observed. If they start havng visions they're immediately killed or worked to death. The same thing happens to left-handed boys. The book the Demigods have been searching for is said to contain the lore of past ages. If I could find that book, I could understand what they've been afraid of all these years. It is curious because no other town is so closely watched. In other towns, people live peacefully for sometimes years at a time. What does the Deku Tree want with someone who is not corrupted by power?"
"Ah, erm, that person would be able to wield a power that can destroy the evil consuming this world," Garth said.
"I see. The past Demigods have been especially worried about this town, so it makes sense to look for that person here. The children they've all been worried about have been put to work promptly or killed for the past several years. Nobody's escaped for years," Alten said.
"The Deku Tree said the power of the gods is being tossed around like a hot vegetable. Was there any time that you can remember that many people were fighting over it away from this town? You know, something that would give this town a break?" Garth inquired.
"No...wait. There was a time thirteen? no--fourteen years ago. There was a whole week of peace in the town, except for that fire. A woman and her four year old boy burned to death. Terrible tragedy," Alten said.
"That is unbelievably sad," Garth commented.
"Yes, unbelievable... Unbelievable? Yes... The house burned down, but nobody found any trace of the bodies. And when the next Demigod was free to pay attention to this place, everyone swore they were dead. If they did not die, it was the perfect way to escape from this town. I assure you, that is the only possible escape that's happened in my lifetime, if indeed they did escape. It would be wise to stay quiet about this. I shudder at the idea of what might happen if the current Demigod finds out. Probably go leveling every village on the map," Alten said.
"Great," Garth said. Just great. Not only do I have to get out of this town, but the person I'm looking for is probably at least a hundred miles away from here.

Jake woke with a start, his head was spinning and the last thing he remembered was going into an apartment building looking for the next disappearing case. He checked over himself and discovered that all he had was his fatigues, two combat knives, and some of his survival gear. His immediate surroundings were grass up to his chest and trees all the way around. He saw a small break in the trees that turned out to be a path. There was a sign but he couldn’t read it.

After what seemed like an hour he heard something up ahead and hid behind a nearby bush in a position that he could see out but they couldn’t see in. As the sounds got closer it sounded more like speech but he couldn’t understand what they were saying. There was six of them, five small creatures and one big. The big one acted like he was the leader of the group. The boss halted the group and silenced them with one word and started sniffing the air. Jake sniffed the air too and thought he would pass out. They probably never heard of taking bathes or brushing their teeth.

Boss then looked Jakes way, unsheathed his sword and rushed for Jake. His subordinates fallowed and started so surround him. Jake took out his combat knives and blocked the bosses’ sword. He then stabbed the boss and took his knife out of the now dead boss and blocked the blows he was receiving from the others. He ducked to avoid a horizontal slash from his right and got in close for a stab at the heart. With two down he concentrated at taking down the rest of the creatures as quickly as possible. He rushed as if to go high, he then ducked, did a spin and stabbed two of them at the same time. He quickly pulled out and threw the knives with great accuracy.

He checked over the corpses for anything that could prove useful to him. All he found were some gems of different colors. He thought to himself that these could be the currency around here. He then took his knives and wiped them clean with the ground. He then started back on the path hoping that a town was close by. It took him four hours to find the end of the path; there was a broad plain and a fairly good-sized town in the center.

His plan was to stay on the back streets till he gathered up some information and something to wear so he didn’t stick out. When he got to town he went strait to the first ally he saw and started listening to the conversations. As he figured no one was speaking anything he could understand. After wondering around for about half an hour he found a house that looks as if it has been abandoned for several years. After a quick search around the house he found a cloak that fit perfectly on him and hid the fatigues. After taking a deep breathe he head out of the ally to be swallowed by the crowed of several different species.

Re: The War of the Triforce - Legends (Fan Fic, Co-op Story)

Snobron and his troops continued walking around the field. As Snobron walked he saw six figures on the ground he walked over to them. Six moblins all dead. They had knife wounds. Snobron reconised the leader. It was Gingo. He shook his head which now held a leather eyepatch.

Snobron signaled the others to keep walking. So they did. He thought about Leo. The boy who had removed his eye. Snobron looked at his soldiers. Twentyfour remained. He snarled, "stupid boy, I'll kill that wreched boy". Snobron heard a loud and quick hiss sound. He turned his head to see another moblin with an arrow in his neck.

The moblin grabbed the arrow with both hands but fell to the ground dead. The moblins were confused. Three more arrows hissed in all sinking into some other moblins flesh. The moblins ran around panicking.

"You fools!!!!" screamed Snobron. Moblin after moblin were slayed by arrows. Snobron ducked under cover by a large boulder. Arrows shot from every direction each killing a moblin.

"We surrender!" yelled Snobron. The arrows ceased. Seventeen men stood around the ten remaing moblins. Snobron swallowed as the men came closer holding ropes.

The moblins were soon tied up by the ropes as the leader of the group spoke.

The leader said "we are the power fighters, you are now enslaved by us, you do what ever we tell you adn you will be shown mercy. I f you attempt to escape we will kill you. Understood?". "Yes" said Snobron.

The man walked off to join the others at a huge bonfire. Snobron turned his head saying "okay nows our chance to get the hell outta here. Now if your scared dont be or you will be a slave to these freaks forever". Snobron pulled a knife out of his belt and cut the rope freeing himself and the others. They tried to senal quietly out of the camp but they all heard a hissing sound. Theyshut their eyes tightly hoping it missed. But it didnt. A moblin fell to the ground dead.

Snobron ran as fast as he could. The archers picked off seven more moblins then Snobron felt extreme pain in his hip. He looked down to see a arrow in it. He smiled and kept running despite the pain. He ran a mile then stopped. He looked back. The others were all dead.

He sighed and continued his journey in the starry night.

Re: The War of the Triforce - Legends (Fan Fic, Co-op Story)

Garth watched out the window of his host's house. There was some fighting. One boy seemed to have escaped, drawing several of the guards away, to chase him. The host, Alten, began speaking again.

"Looks like the fighting's dying down. I hope that kid gets out all right," Alten said.

"Why do they keep everyone here?" Garth asked.
"They believe the Book of Mudora is buried in the area. The Demigod always has people digging somewhere around this town. Moblins were charged with guarding this town and keeping its residents from leaving, so they keep doing that. It keeps the labor reliable. On top of that, it helps keep the Demigod happy because prophecy foretells the coming of a hero from this town. As long as this place is kept tight, the Demigod has no one to fear but those who are just like himself."
"If that other story you told is true, this hero is somewhere out there already."
"Perhaps so. If you want to leave, you'd best do it now while the guards aren't in this part of town. If the guards catch you, you will be required to stay. You will be held in the jail, and forced to work. Mostly digging. If your brain's any good they might give you the scholar job like they did with me. You'll either be a field scribe, standing around at dig sites writing down every detail, or studying at the library, reading old books and the field scribes' notes. You will do that until you die, or get a productive job somewhere else," Alten said grimly.
"I think I'll stay for just a while. I don't want to leave until I get an idea of where I need to go," Garth said.
"So be it. You'd best hide that weapon," Alten said.
"Can I hide it here?"
"If I could find a good place, certainly."
Garth was looking around next to his chair. On the side of a window frame he saw something faintly carved that looked like the writing he had seen in other places. He pointed to it. "What does that say?"
"What does what say?" Alten asked.
"This carving on the window frame. I'm sorry, I can't read your writing." Garth said.
Alten looked at the window frame and tilted his head. "I've never noticed that before. It says 'Pull the third shelf from the bottom.' Maybe it's talking about the bookshelf built into the wall over there."
"How old is this house?" Garth asked.
"I don't know. The woman I bought it from said she inherited it from her grandfather who swore this house was the among the first built in this town," Alten replied. "Let's see what happens, eh?" Alten went to the bookshelf, grabbed the third shelf from the bottom which only had a model of a boat on it, and pulled on it. It came out a few inches and stuck. A floorboard next to the shelf wobbled. Garth went to the wobbly floorboard and it came up easily. It was actually three floorboards stuck together. There was a hole, about two feet wide, two feet long, and a foot deep. Something wrapped in cloth was sitting in the hole. Alten picked up the object and unwrapped it. It was a thick book, bound in some kind of green leather. "This is it. In my floor the whole time..."
"The Mudora book?"
Alten nodded. "Yes. I'm going to read it now. Excuse my excitement." Alten sat down and opened the book.
"Right. Can you read it to me? I did help you find it, after all," Garth said.
Alten agreed, and began reading the legends that would unlock the meaning of the events in the present. A comment by the author provided some interesting insight.
The original book of Mudora is gone. When I found it, it had to be handled ever so carefully to keep it intact. I decided to create a new book, and copy everything in the old one. I also added the legends that came after the original book...
...One interesting note is that the last Hero, the one who slew Ganon when he had the entire Triforce, lived to the end of his days peacefully in Kakariko Village. At his funeral, Zelda made this short prophecy: "Your successor shall be born here." As there are no more legends to write down, this is the most that exists of what may become the next one.

Sunlight was nearly gone by the time Alten finished reading. "There's more but it's a bunch of fragmented stuff that's really no good for reading aloud. I wonder how tomorrow will go for you here."

There was a knocking on the door.

"Hide the book! Hide yourself, too!" Alten growled. Garth dropped the book back into its hole, covered it, and then climbed up into the rafters above the door.

"Open up!" a voice at the door said.

Alten opened the door and there were two Moblin guards. They walked in, looked around the house, and then questioned Alten.

"Did anyone come into your house?" the Moblin asked.
"Not that I know of." Alten replied.
"All right. You don't see anything, do you, Garuc?"
"No, nothing," the other said.
"Right then, on to the next house. Wait." The Moblin looked straight up into the ceiling and saw Garth in the rafters.

"Right then, Fox, now that we've gotten the matter of who we both are out of the way, and I've had a few more drinks between when you asked the first time and now, I'll gladly answer your questions." Gola put down his tankard and turned his attention to the younger man on his left.

"Finally. You must've found my tone a little rude over a dozen times by now!" Fox, who had been there watching him order and drink 15 ales within the past couple hours, let out a bit of a sigh as he said this, "Now, what is your business here in New Kakariko?"

Gola looked down at his tankard again, a wistful look in his eyes, "You wouldn't believe me if I told you. However, since I do believe we have some time before that monster wielding the Triforce like it was some play-thing returns, I suppose it couldn't hurt to tell you a little," Gola pushed the tankard away, "I am the last of my village, which once bordered on the great desert to the southwest. We served the king directly, and were bred to be his special forces. I am what the common folk used to call a Power Hunter. We called ourselves the 'King's Sorceror Knights'. My order, in it's heyday, took it upon itself to hunt down wielders of the Triforce of Power before they could discover the true power that, quite literally, sat in their hand. We all had our unique powers, mine being the ability to melt into sand. The order was all but destroyed when one of our own came into possession of the Triforce and betrayed us. I'll never forget that day."

Gola took another long gulp of ale, then smashed the tankard against the floor, "Ever since then, I've hunted the Triforce of Power on my own. The wielders rarely live long enough for me to find them anymore. This has become a very dangerous job, though. Those that do live long enough tend to already know much of the extent of their power."
