Clearly they both used the same pic and made a lot of the same stylistic decisions, but execution-wise #2 is a bit better. The alignment of sig 1 is pretty off in a lot of places, and Osaka's color got pretty drowned out by the chosen color scheme. :3

The orange just doesn't seem to fit. I have no idea who the character is, but from what I've seen in the other threads she seems to be more pink and cuddly then red hot and fire-y. So the first one, for putting the cute little girl with flowers rather then fire.

I don't like the use of the squares/scan lines on it. It just seems worse than the first. Also, teh first has good use of lighting and color.

#2 - Though the mood doesn't fit I think it just looks better overall.

#1 - Colors look pretty wack. There's the hint of orange from nowhere and the text placement peeves me.

Sig 2. As Andi said, the alignment of sig 1 was off in a lot of places, and while sig 1 just looks like a traditional background+sig+border, the second one has other things, like that... text bar thingy? Whatever they call it.

Also, I just don't like that kind of cursive.

This one seems to look better than the second one overall, as the second one is a little patchy and bright, seems like they've mainly used brushes. Also, the grid is kinda off putting, though only slightly.

Sig 2. I like the effort put in both, but the second one seems more smooth. Could use w/o the patching effect though xD

Don't get me wrong, though. Both of them are good, but I just don't like Sig2 as much because of those scanlines. Not only that, but Sig1 actually has some pretty good flow in it.
