Zelda Cover Design

So, here's a bit different kind of competition. It is about making a cover for a fictional Zelda game. Name it whatever you like but don't use any names that already exist.

- It will be a Wii Zelda so you must include the Wii stripe on top, Nintendo logo and ESRB rating logo.

- The size is 375 x 500 (Edited, sorry for those who started with the old values, my mistake)

- The deadline will be April the 17.3.2007 - 2 weeks from today. Everyone who PMs me the box art before that date enters. =) Good luck to everyone.

EDIT: Don't you have a premade blank Wii case?

I can't really make a Wii case very well.

You don't have to draw the case. Just at the Wii stripe on top. Here's the Wii stripe and the Nintendo logo. Google for some ESRB ratings you can rate it whatever you want.

The size I told is in the proportions of a Wii game box.

I think I'll try this. I probably won't win, as usual, but I like competition and I like the practice I get out of it.

I think I'll design a cover with the title...of my Zelda fanfic. Yes, that. It's a game-like story (though not VERY game-like), so it would work perfectly.

Hehe... Don't give up that easily...

Also on a sidenote: Every Zelda game had some "picture" in the background of the Zelda text. MM had the mask, TP had the wolf like abstract image. That "logo" is also required. Thats something you need to think of yourself.

I knew that was coming. I had already made a logo for my Zelda fic, but it won't go well with what I'm doing in Photoshop CS2 (yes, I'm finally working with it). So, I'm recreating the images that were behind the ZELDA in it and then giving them effects to go well with the background I've got.

Hm.. sounds interesting.

Hey, that Wii stripe is too big to fit on the image as it is, so how do you resize it in PS? And how do you make images transparent? I figured out how to do cutting in PS, but not transparency. :/

For resizing, select the layer you want to resize and hit Ctrl + T. Hold down Shift and drag the corners to your liking, then press enter.

For transparency, if there is a blank spot in your image (as in, nothing there at all, not white,) there should be a visible "checkerboard" pattern, which means that it's transparent.

Ah, I see. I already changed my mind and decided to do my transparency in Fireworks instead earlier, though. And I'm familiar with the checkerboard pattern.

Well, I finished my entry. It took awhile too, because I was having trouble with the Wii stripe and my logo. But I managed to get it finished.

Am I allowed to post it in here?

If you want, then sure. But also PM all entries to me so I don't have to scout this thread to find them. If you want to post them here later it's your own choice. ^^

If the author wants to keep his work secret then he has the right to do so... I'll post them all when the deadline is over.

Speaking of which, if after 7 days it's obvious that no one will enter anymore I could skip to the deadline immediately But we'll see. ^^
