[Discussion] Monthly Creative Collab

I just finished my submission, and I have never cried after writing a short story before. It was one of the sweetest, deepest, most powerful stories that I have ever written, and I do not jest when I say that as soon as I finished typing the last word, I broke out into sobs while simultaneously grinning like I haven't grinned in a long time. It was so weird but so amazing.

I hope that my story affects you all in the same way, too! I very much look forward to sharing it with you!

This is an update so you all know who has finished at least one of their entries for the July Collab (in orange below)! I'll be creating the thread on the 10th of July, so please have your works/links to me via PM sometime on the 9th.

Contrary to the Beauty Letter's announcement, you can still send me entries that fit with the theme, even if you haven't officially signed-up. Two creative ZUers that weren't originally on the list already submitted entries ~ everybody is welcome.

For everybody that would like to have their work in the July Collab, please send me your work or link to your work via PM by tomorrow evening (about 36 hours from now). I'll be creating the thread on Tuesday unless I'm told at the last minute that people need a little more time.

I think it's too early to actually start getting people to commit to an August Collab --- BUT --- if anybody wants to throw out ideas for the next theme/seed/prompt, you can just post it here.




In a week or so we can do the sign-up / team-up if there's still enough interest. I had fun doing the July one, so I hope you guys are still interested, too.

The first thing I thought of for a theme was "Science." Not sure why. Or maybe "School," since a bunch of people start school in August (I don't, but that's okay).

I also want to mention that I am not planning on submitting anything next month because I really need to work on my Halloween story. Or it isn't going to get done! I had fun this month, though, so I plan on participating again in the future!

Why not Time? Some good drawings,stories and poems can come out of that. Or like Ezlo said Science because alot of people began school in august me being one of those people

You could always do a small collab with someone! If someone else were to do a fill-in comic next month you could certainly participate via that. :>

I don't want any distractions, even small ones! I am really hard on myself when it comes to writing deadlines because I have been so terrible with them in the past.

Question about the new poll: are you asking if people want to participate in the Collab in general, or are you asking if people want to participate in the Collab for August?

It's basically an "in general" type of question ~ since the poll won't be reset every month. Of course, we could reset it every month if we needed to...

I think it's a great Idea! a great way for the Creative forum to show off it's many talents!

Also I suggest the theme 'Freedom'
