February Contest!

Welcome guys to this month's contest!

This Month's theme is: Video Games in Reality! Basically its putting video game characters either out of their element, or even just putting them in a realistic context. Or even more if you can think of that!

For more information or I'm making no sense (which is very likely!) its talked about in more detail here!

The contest will go from the 11th to the 27th!

All entries will be PM'd to me. While this contest is going on, none of the entries are allowed to be shown in places in ZU other than Private Messages. Feel free to post it on other sites though.

I like the theme idea. Although it's not the most unheard of theme, it could lend itself to some really funny or creative situations.

I dunno if I'll make anything for it or not.
But either way I'm looking forward to what everyone else does.

Got this idea but don't know how to put it onto paper and in the time given. We'll just have to wait and see.

do you mean you ahve to do like a realiostic character or do you get a character and insert them into a different style?

i think i have an idea....

It means, correct me if I'm wrong, putting the characters in either a realistic concept or have them as if part of daily modern life. They sound a bit the same but they are different (to me that is).

Yeah, the concept is just taking a video game character or concept and applying it to a realistic or everyday context.

You can make a realistic character if you want, but you can do it cartoony as well. It just has to be a concept such as, say, Link getting stuck in traffic with his horse on the freeway or something. Or Mario as a real plumber from Brooklyn (which I'm sure was everyone's first immediate thought).

I'm not sure if I will have the time to participate, but as always, I am looking forward to everyone else's entry and ideas towards this particular theme!

I'll see if I have the time to cook up something if an idea strikes me.

Time to boot up the 3D software and PS!

I'm probably going to start working on mine tonight. While, it's going to be a more obvious take on the theme, I've been wanting to draw this concept for a while.

It was going to be a photorealistic painting of a woman in the kitchen with an apron, beating cake mix in a bowl, with Samus's Helmet, and was gonna be called: MICROWAVE BEAM ACQUIRED - make adam dinner.

Can't wait to see all the sheer talent here!

Well I have this idea but may not finish. I have a VASE (Visual Art Scholastic Event) contest that's Saturday so I'm kinda working on the art for it. But I'm still going to send in a entry in.

Maybe when I get free time yeah!
It genuinely a case where I've pulled out of all ZU events because work has left me with no free time. :[

Was really sad about pulling out - all the artists that take part are so talented, and it's such a gratifying feeling to have such a friendly competition with them and have fun together.

I'm actually considering stretching it out for a couple of more days if everyones okay with it. Mainly because we've only got three entries so far. While quality>quantity, I do like more than that amount of entries. That cool?

Dang, I wish I could join...
I'm not sure that I can, even with a few more days, since I have to work on a midterm this weekend...

But I feel bad if I can't participate when the numbers are so low.

Alright guys, I've decided to expand this 'til the Fourth of March. It wont screw up the schedule of the next contest at all if I time it right.

Also this means if people want to add stuff to their entries feel free to just resend the entry to me. :3

I didn't know you were going to expand it that much, so now I might have a chance to do something if I think of an idea...
