Welcome to the 2009 Gender Wars Official thread!

Please let it be known that any trash talking will be promptly deleted, as that's what the throwdown thread was designed for. =)

BATTLES WILL BEGIN ON Monday, the 27th of July


Please note the order and dates. IF YOU HAVE SIGNED UP FOR AN ACTIVITY AND HAVE A TIME CONFLICT, PLEASE MESSAGE MYSELF OR MATTOCKS ASAP TO HAVE ARRANGEMENTS MADE.

Free Style Barrage [30/70]-[06/08]
Dare Crusade [02/08]-[09/08]
Balloon Animal Palooza [05/08]-[12/08]
Belching Contest [09/08]-[15/08]
Essay Dispute [12/08]-[17/08]
Art Melee [19/08]-[25-08]
Haiku Assault [22/08]-[29/08]

*These are being put on hold until some of the other events are done with. Don't worry they won't be delayed more than a couple of days


For each challenge, the first date is the date that the rules will be announced, and the last one is the deadline. Please have your entries in by 11:59 PM PST on the deadline night. (yes, I pick PST because that's my timezone. =3 Kinda buys you some time though)

SCORING
Every battle has three contestants competing on each team. Our four lovely, unbiased judges, Mikhael, Sabbo, beejay, and Felix the Cat will judge each and every contestant's entry. The team points will be totaled, and the team with the most points wins ONE BATTLE POINT. The team at the end of the wars with the most battle points wins!

Judges will each PM either Mattocks their scores for each battle (so as not to influence each other). The results for each battle will be posted once all the scores for that battle have been received. =)

Battlers
Please be aware of the timeframe you have to complete the activity. If there is any conflict, please let it be known NOW! If you cannot compete and have not given us heads up 72 hours before the deadline, YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR TURN AND LOSE A POINT FOR YOUR TEAM. If you cannot battle, please find a replacement asap. Thank you.

Judges
Please have your scores completed within ONE week of the end of each battle. Please PM your scores to Mattocks.

(The gameshow will be obvious =P)

Everyone else
Show your support! Visit the Lassies' Camp, or the Mans Base of Operations. Write your comrades a motivational poem, draw an awesome picture of the opposing team's gruesome defeat. Basically, cheer them on, and watch.

If you'd like to battle, we still have positions open. So please take a looksee.

The rules of the gameshow are still in debate. A few of the coordinators are trying to figure out just who will be doing it.

Aw, Kassi, I was going to save the logo winner for right before the comp began. Oh well, now that the surprise is out, I would like to publicly congratulate Dog Dog on the logo. It looks great and will be at the head of all official GW threads. Also, thank you verry much to everyone else who took the time and effort to submit one.

It's okay, my being on there is aesome enough for everyone.

I believe I am an alt. for the game show so how much notice will I get if I am selected?

maybe a skype thing for the game show? For buzz ins use the chat part of skype and say "BUZZ" then have the host ask who "buzzed" first to answer, if they get it wrong, go to the next "buzz". (Give like 5 seconds to answer, this way it can stop googlers)

We could do it like my school's quiz bowl team.

NAQT

10 point buzz in question (5 sec after end, or 15 for a math). If you answer early enough you power it (15 instead of 10) (Only the reader/host knows when the power period is done). If you buzz in early and miss, -5 points, after the question is over no penalty. No conferring with team mates on buzz in questions.

The team that gets the question then is asked a themed series of questions (usually 3) for up to a bonus of 30 more points. (Conferring allowed for Bonuses)

MY name isn't even mentioned in the banner.

I was going by people who had posted in the Headquarters. And people in the social groups. And any other names that happened to come to mind. So apparently the two of you weren't in either of those.

Anyone else who's complaining about my banner, please post soon-ish. I'll try to edit in a few more names later, after I finish sorting through the pile of stuff in my inbox.

Speaking of the banner, my name is directly above (and centered with) the male figure. I feel special.

I'm not on the banner either... Hmph.
