Let The War Games Begin!

Alright, my Lassies! The time has come for us to prove our girly worth!

The final list of events has been compiled, and we are ready to start sign-ups. At this present moment, Mattocks if coming up with the Rules and Rubriks (sp?) for each event. Those will be posted soon.

If any of the following events looks interesting to you, speak up. once we know more about how each even is going to be done, the spaces will really fill up.
Here is the list:

• Art Melee
• Haiku Assault

This year we are expanding on the Singing Challenge by adding a rapping competition as well. So if you don't have a great voice, or if the spoken word is your forte', you can always enter the Free Style Barrage. Other new events include the Balloon Animal Palooza, and a Belching Contest. The Game Show will be a quiz event done on the podcast. And for anyone who would like to write an essay, please note, this year we will be making it manditory for them to be light hearted and in the spirit of the competition as we felt last year some people took it a little too seriously.

Also keep in mind these are in no particular order. We will be finalizing the schedule over the next couple of days and will post it when it's ready.

For now, just pick two or three events that are interesting to you and that you think you can commit to, and we'll work from there.

Hello!! I would like to sign up for the art and haiku events, if I may!! And perhaps the dare crusade!!!

If I may, I'd like to sign up for the Game Show and the Art or Dare thing. ^_^

So, someone yelled at me because we have so few people signed up. So I complained about a lack of details. They pretty much told me to just go off recruiting anyways. So, for whoever I forgot to add into my PM list, here we go.

The list of events (again), now with short descriptions (as much as we know) and notes about microphones and cameras.


Singing Challenge Requires a microphone
Sing a song that's somehow related to girls being better then boys.

Free Style Barrage Requires a microphone
Rapping. I think it should be done foccusing mainly on the lyrics. If they want a generic background beat or something that's fine, but I don't think there sahould be any marks awarded/deducted for stuff like that.

Dare Crusade Requires a camera
I personally would like a small change which we could not get in place last year. I think it would be more interesting if each contestant submitted a dare to be part of thier mark. They can come up with them as a team, but I think making the dares part of the mark would result in more "quality" dares. Completing the dares must be filmed, and must be uneddited if possible (Karma for example had to slit hers into 2 parts last year).

Balloon Animal Palooza Requires a camera
Ballon animals shouldbe creative without being rediculous. Maybe a limit on number of balloons used. This is another one which should probably also be filmed.

Belching Contest Requires a camera
Is there much that can be said for belching? ... Belches should be on film so we can ensure that it is the actual person belching.

Game Show Requires a microphone
This one is still under debate, but it will be a game show, and it will take be done on the Podcast.

Essay Dispute
A fun (not super serious) essay about why girls are better then boys. This year they're being aimed at being in good humor, more friendly and silly.

Art Melee
Art melee is basically drawing somehting to do with the GW. There were a few comics done last year, and some single pictures, all pretty good.

Haiku Assault
Basically, two members face off writing haikus back and forth. The "battle" has about an hour limit, and the posts pretty much just go back and forth with Haikus.



Oh, and a quick note: For all of these (except the game show) we need three people to sign up for each. So if you're interested in anything, please speak up!

I wanna help with the Haiku Assault! I'm pretty good at haiku.

But you made our cool logo, so you definitely contributed to the Lassie cause!

Ranny, wouldn't you do well in the artwork melee? Your graphics skills are great, and I'd be happy with something along those lines. Think you can come up with a cool picture from scratch?

If not, we'd love to have you cheering on the sidelines. =)

Oh, I didn't know that included graphics...I was thinking drawing by hand. I'm pretty good at drawing by hand and graphics, but I don't think I'm good enough at either, plus I don't have PS CS4 anymore. I'm stuck with a crappy version of PS7 that doesn't let me do a lot of the things I could do with CS4.

I think I more or less said raping because it's quite generalized. But as long as you've got the basic principals there. Or like you said, you could just set it to a basic beat.
