We're back! Yes, after a period of dormancy and loss of direction, the ZUBC has gone through a rough period of self discovery, and has emerged anew on the other side. We're back in full-swing with a new mission:
To be the best damned Zelda Fan Podcast ever!

This thread is for you to talk about the latest podcast, give feedback, get general ZUBC information and ask questions.

About the ZUBC and how YOU can help!

Currently, the ZUBC has a special "Headquarters" on the main site where you can access all the past podcasts and see who's on the ZUBC staff.


We are taking a more zelda-focused slant to our podcast, but we still want a ton of member-made content.

Be a part of this podcast, no matter how big or small!

First thing's first- we are NOT hiring actual permanent, full-time ZUBC staffers. From now on, all the Zelda news and Community news will be produced by us here at the ZUBC, along with a segment or two from our ever-reliable Power Shot and Hombre de Mundo... But we want YOUR content to play a major role, too.

Anyone can contribute meaningfully to this podcast... Here's how:

• Your feedback and suggestions- Even if you don't have the ability or desire to be on the cast, you can still listen and tell us what you think! We'd especially LOVE voice-recorded feedback. So If you have a Microphone and can get us an mp3, make it less than 90 seconds long and post it in this thread, or email it to zucast@zeldauniverse.net. If you want your written feedback (or voice, I suppose, if you don't give your name) to remain anonymous, you can send it to that e mail address too.
  
• Ideas- If you have an idea for a segment but not the ability to do it yourself, that's ok! Tell us your idea and perhaps someone else will want to pick it up and make it into something. Post it in this thread or send an email to zucast@zeldauniverse.net. We may just go on a man-hunt for people to do special projects for the ZUBC.
  
• Make yourself available- If you have microphone and the ability to send an mp3 file, let us know. Even if we don't need you now, we may later, so let us know. If you have or can get skype (it's a free program that lets you do internet conference calls), let us know too!
  
• Just Do It!- If you're feeling brave or creative that day, just go right ahead and produce something and send it in. It doesn't have to be pretty- we can clean up the sound a little, add music or some sound effects for you if you want. Just let us know what we can do to help! You have a great chance of being on the cast if you just do it, make it fun, and send it in. Segments should be no longer than 4 minutes long! Try to kee it around 3. Of course, you will be given full credit for your work ^__^
  
• Writing Poetry, Music, artwork etc...- We'd love to feature some music or other art now and then. It doesn't have to be zelda related, but that would be most desirable. Again, post it here or email it to zucast@zeldauniverse.net.

Important: When you do something for the ZUBC, it will not automatically become a permanent monthly part of the cast. It could be a semi-recurring thing, though.

If you've got the will and the equipment (the ability to record decent, intelligible sound and send it as an mp3 file), you've got a good chance of being on the cast. So create away, darlings! We would be most likely to air non-dated material- stuff which we can save and use in any podcast but if you've got a stellar enough idea, we'll do anything we can to make it happen. Here are some general suggestions as to the type of things we are looking for. And don't be afraid to go outside the box, too.

*Segments should be no longer than 4 minutes, but try to keep it around 3. Depending on what the segment is, you may be given more time. but this is a rare exception.

If you don't have recording abilities: If you can't actually make something for the cast but have an idea or something you'd like to see, feel free to share it here! We may still use the idea.

If you need production help: Perhaps you want to do something but don't have all the necessary music, sound effects, or equipment to complete a whole thing the way you want it to be. Don't worry! Aniday and I are the editors of this cast and we can help you in just about any way you may need to make your dream become a reality, but YOU must be the driving force behind it.

If you have any questions that are of more of a general nature, or have to do with our main site headquarters, Dom is another person you can contact.

Hiya, I'm Dom, PR technition for the ZUBC. My job is to maintain the outer appearence of the podcast, this includes the headquaters page, the staff page, the release pages and threads and pretty much all podcast media that isn't the podcast itself. If you have feedback or suggestions to do with my area of the podcast (suggestions for the headquaters site etc), you can send your feedback directly to me via dom@zeldauniverse.net.

My work for the site and relevent pages has not started yet, so don't immediately send me an email detailing what needs to be done, I have a pretty clear idea already . Expect change over the coming weeks.

It will still have a good amount ofcommuntiy content!

and even though much of our content will have somethingto do with Zelda, it will still be community-made, so it is still coming from the community. the only thing that will be directly from the ZUBC is the Zelda news!

Not everything in the podcast will be zelda-related. We will still feature music and cool community stuff, but as far as ratio of Zelda to Community-related, we want it to be about 70/30.

We now have a content ideas and contibutions thread, in which all will be explained.

Will Cody still be ranting? His segment is one of the highlights of the podcast for me!

HAHA- I think we might make them permanent. they're short, silly, and fun...He said he wasstill willing to rant for us, so yeah... I think that can be arranged XD

well they wouldn't be an actualy ZUBC team member, but they would receive full credit and would probably be refered to as a "segment host" or "Production assistant" .

their name would be in the credits at the end ofthe cast, as well as on the individual description/table of contents that is releasedwith each podcast.

If their segment becomes something re-curring, or they end up sticking around and doing stuff for us on aregular basis,then they'd be added to the ZUBC team, but I don't want to go on a big initial hiring spree, then have too many cooks in the kitchen.

no it would be a one-time thing. not every segmetn can be a re-curring segment.
BUT

let's say one time, someonedoes a silly story for the cast. a few casts later,the might do a game review. Maybe next time they do an interview.
Or perhapse they do a segment that recurrs a few times a year/everyother month...

see where I'm going with this? Just because someone does a segment for the cast, does not mean they will do something every time, or eventhe same thing every time.

When's the scheduled "air date" for podcast number I-lost-count? Meaning the next podcast.

It doesn't look like this thread has been used very much. So far it seems only Zien and I have actually said something (besides Margar and Dom). And when will you guys (I should probably be asking Dom this question) be updating the ZUBC Headquarters page on the main site?

I've asked Dom to do it, but he said not to rush him. I placed it on the ZU to do list.

yeah Zien, we've got it under control. you gotta remember me and dom (and most of the ZUBC) are busy adults with jobs and college and stuff. Also, we are working on things behind the scenes in the staff boards, so just because you don't see it, we ARE making progress.

be patient.

You guys should do a "next time on the Zelda Universe Podcast" thing. It helps to know what's going to be in the next one. I love those things anyway. I think it's too late to do that this time, but next time maybe. It lowers the suspense a little bit. I hate suspense in the context of episodes or podcasts and new issues in magazines.

The HQ page is pretty much completely up to date. If there are any glaring holes that I've missed, feel free to contact me.

I love the interviews! I also love the interactivity (allowing us, the ordinary, not-extraordinary members of ZU to ask the questions). How about the next interview is interviewing Lady Ranny, who has continued Duncan's legacy by running the ZIMMP project, Zien/Austin (his new username), who runs the ZUHC, or even Margar, who obviously runs the ZUBC (now that Asia has disappeared off the face of the earth). My point is that maybe you can interview the manager of one of the various community committees, organizations, and projects. It would be a different twist on past interviews, which have mainly been about staff and out-of-ZU.
