Gender Wars II: This time, it's not Gender Wars I

Lads and lassies of ZU: It is TIME!

Remember that fun battle of the sexes we had last year, when the girls beat the boys? Well, we've decided to make it an annual event! (huzzah!)

SO! Here's the scoop!

Some community coordinators have begun our shenanigans backstage trying to piece this thing together.

Last year was a bit on the bumpy side, so we're trying to smooth things out. That's where this thread comes in handy! We need to know what YOU as a community want!

(I'll be reorganizing and updating this thread as needed. Bear with my scattered-brained-ness, pwease =3)

There will be new parameters implemented and such to keep the ball rolling nicely and make sure everyone's happy! There may also be a need for new coordinators to fill in positions, so keep your eye on this thread if you're interested.

bly add a poll shortly if feedback deems it necessary. So let's get those creative juices flowing!

As more issues arise, I'll be bringing them to this thread, so keep checking back to see whats up.

Who's ready to FIGHT?! >=D

UPDATE: Prepare yourselves for an epic Battle of the Sexes!

I like the whole 'month you joined ZU' idea. Or maybe it could be like, birthday month or something...

P.S. W00T! First post.

I'm still in favor of "Month joined", split into however many teams we want.

(And still entirely against Red vs. Blue.)

I'd just like to add to what Kassi said. Before you vote for the idea you thik is coolest, consider how and if everything will work. Especialy those of you interested in helping out with it. For example, the more teams there are, the harder it is to organise, keep track of, and contact everyone. Also, don't forget about the classic gender wars just because there sre other ideas flying aorund. I am personaly in favour of doing it just like last year (but more organized).

How about male vs female, or red vs blue.

I'd like the boys vs. girls. Even though I wasn't in last year's, I know the boys lost. I'll join them and say we want a rematch.

This thread's name is copied off of Homestarrunner.com! I know that line: "Dangeresque 2: This time it's Not Dangeresque 1!" That's from the "stunt double" sbemail! Why would you copy that? *under breath*: Only I can copy lines from other things...all the time.

(Each team will be a member of them Newbies, or Oldies/Oldbies/whatever.) The third team (if there is one) can be a Stinky (can't make up their minds) Inbetweenies.
Newbs vs. vets would be year joined. And what you said didn't make a whole lot of sense, you went back and forth from months, to year, and then people who can't make up there mind. I think I get the general idea of what you're saying but try to be a bit more clear to avoid comfusion.

Also, EzloSpirit makes a good point. SHouldn't the boys have a shot at getting back? And for that matter, would the gals be able to defend thier title?

I seriously want a randomly assigned red vs. blue.

Gender was already used, and "Month Joined"...might...cool.

Re: Gender Wars II: This time, it's not Gender Wars I

*Clearifies.*

When was the rank of Newb vs. Senior Member ever seperated by year?

It was likely confusing because I thought the two teams could be seperated by month alone. (Which sounds silly in itself.) Join date, Wippersnapper, and Senior Member are all in the same category. But, why just have a general category of "join date", when something like Wippersnappers vs Senior Members can make it fun. I can see the Senior Members' slogan as "Putting You Wippersnappers In Your Place." Stuff like that makes it look like each team needs to win in order to prove that they are the best. A lot of members can get into that.

You can't change history, so the Boys can't win something that's allready over. But, if "The People" want another round of Gender Wars... then so be it. If another round is finalized, then the Boys better win. Power Shot might cry if the Girls win again.

Staff vs Members, or 03'ers vs 04'ers vs 05'ers vs 06'ers vs 07'ers vs 08'ers vs 09'ers.

Too confusing. Remember, the more teams there are, then the harder it is to organize.

There is not enough staff members to take on everyone else.

What about if ex-staffies/ex-mods were included? (keeping in mind that not everyone on ZU will participate anyway. Especially regarding non-staffies/mods.)

Re: Gender Wars II: This time, it's not Gender Wars I

That still wouldn't be enough. I know there are some which are still active... but even if we had all of the former Staff members and current staff members... normal members would overtake them.

Randomly asigning wouldn't work. People would be changing teams, not wanting to be on thier asigned team, blah blah blah. It has to be somthing they can't just changed, like gender, join date stuff liek that. And so what if gender was already done? That's the point, I think it would be great to have it as an anual thing. Plus with the experience from last year we would have a jump start on organization for it.

Or maybe the boys should just except the fact that girls really are better.

Quote:

But it wouldn't be random assigned. Whoever's idea that was was planning to just let members choose a team. Which would turn into random chaos.

(But the way, that's why I keep pointing at "Month joined". It's almost entirely random, and it's easy to see at a glance who's on which team.)

Quote:
Staff vs Members, or 03'ers vs 04'ers vs 05'ers vs 06'ers vs 07'ers vs 08'ers vs 09'ers.
Too uneven. There's not that many staff compared to members, just look at the "Who's online" list. The next question would be to figure out what counts as staff. I mean, do graphics teachers, CCs, and the Council count? What about Site Staff? Or would it just be the mods? Not to mention someone has the lead the team, and chances are that the leaders will end up both being mods again.

As for year joined, that's also unbalanced. 08 would be huge. 03 would be tiny. And 09, well, it's questionable as to how many of them are planning to stay at ZU.

Well, if we stick with unchangeable facts, that leaves us two general categories. Gender or Join Date. Hmm...

Re: Gender Wars II: This time, it's not Gender Wars I

^Well as I've said, I am strongly in favour of gender. But there could also be region, site staff (like you said though, there would be some figuring out to be done) and stuff like that. But if it's somehting people can change then there will be alot of switching sides and all that poppycock.

I like the gender format, but I think regional could be cool too, continent v continent etc.

I accepted that fact a while ago.

As was stated, having too many teams makes things confusing. Month joined would be horrible, unless it was "Season joined", or something like that.

This red vs blie doesn't seem so good an idea D: it's like saying pink v blue, and stereotyping that all the girls will go with pink and all the boys blue D:

Except that red's often seen as a gender-neutral color, and blue is only usually seen as a male color.

Oh, and new idea: The different sections of ZU have a face-off. (Zelda, Community, Clans, BA, Staff.)

I got this idea by remembering that the gender wars had a theme of gender, which would mean that this thing would need a theme too... and this is what I came up with. The idea obviously needs tweaking, but as an idea to start from, I quite like it.
