Re: Gender Wars II: This time, it's not Gender Wars I

I rather think it should just be kept as the gender wars. It's simple and can be fun, even with the sexism.

Almost anything that accounts for a banner, except for clans and patronage, maybe. Or, hell, maybe even patronage. It'd make it even enough.
There's less females on online communities than males, so that argument isn't that valid. ;p

fratey means I don't need to edit!

^ Over 50 different people on staff/mod team/community guys/dog walkers etc.

Plus yeah include anyone with a banner.

Patron and clans I'd emit.

There will still be sexism in Round II, just not in the form of teams.

Re: Gender Wars II: This time, it's not Gender Wars I

Either XX versus XY, or Red versus Blue, the rest are all too unfair/unbalanced/unorganized/unawesome.

Boys and girls is fine with me, as it was interesting last year, but I'm leaning towards Red versus Blue, across the whole community.

And how do we split people into red vs blue? And how would we make sure people didn't switch teams?

Re: Gender Wars II: This time, it's not Gender Wars I

Well, couldn't you simply put a poll in a thread with a single vote rule, and have it record who voted for what? Hell, I don't even know if that's possible, but that'd be a simple and annyihatethiswordomus way of doing things. Either that, or have a sign up sheet, and just "one and done" it. As soon as your name is recorded, that's it. No swaps, no second chances.

Why are there general categories like Red vs. Blue? Each team sounds boring... we can do better.
Er, what do you mean? A thread/poll made by the main organizer, set to display all votes made to the poll creator would be an instant way to see who signed up for what team, wouldn't it? Just give it a two week time period to join, or whatever, and blam, instant teamage.

And I'm supposing Red versus Blue is the generic way to split up teams, in us internetpeople's minds. :B

Yes, but if someone tries to sneak into another team, we will have to check the poll every time that happens. ...and we don't want to do that.

Like Mattock has kind of said, we want it so a member can't switch teams without one of us knowing. ...and if they do, it will be easy to figure out who.

Hm. Would it be possible to have small postbits added to signify teams? Maybe a small "team flag" could be put onto each member's postbit, where the Friend Codes and country are listed? I'm not sure if there's a way to set these to be modified solely by admins, but that would make it quite apparent at all times which team, if any, a member was a part of.

Re: Gender Wars II: This time, it's not Gender Wars I

Okay, so I'm gunna put up a poll. These sound like the most favoured ideas so far. Did I miss any?
  • Boys Vs. Girls
  • Red Vs. Blue (sign up for your own team)
  • Staff Vs. Everyone else

As for teams, we can have someone make up a team banner to put in their sig. I really doubt people are going to just switch teams when convenient. Each team will have a team captain to create their "headquarters" thread, too. Also, the captains will be involved with their team, so they'll know if someone's betraying them. I'll take care of that later. ;D

Re: Gender Wars II: This time, it's not Gender Wars I

They sure look like the most popular choices, Kassie.

Between team captains being involved, the Team Headquarters threads, and banners in profiles or signatures, I see little risk of people hopping ship to switch teams. And really, once its all set up, what's the point, anyway?

And until that poll shows up, my votes on Red versus Blue, or whatever you wanna call it. A gender war is fun, but I'd to ally with both groups of chromosomes this time.

Same as everything else. It's been suggested, so I'm putting it in there. Simple as that.
