Ah, it's a pity, but it's unavoidable by the sounds of it.

This, though, means that I need to know the address of the next person in line. :/

Re: BPP: Official Discussion Thread

It's good to know that the BPP is actually on the move after so much confusion in the beginning! With that said, we are getting close on leaving Aussie and Cody lands meaning it's time to start mapping out the route through Europe/UK.

I have taken over Jodd's position as BPP mapping coordinator, and once I actually have access to the semi-organised list DD123 made I'll be able to really get going on making a map through Europe and have that posted hopefully soon!

Any complaints with who gets the BPP from who is now directed to me, not Jodd.

I hadn't posted at all for about a week. But at least I managed to send the BPP, and because I didn't have to send it overseas it cost a measly 7 dollars! Or at least that's what I think it was. I was pleasantly surprised, anyway.

Re: BPP: Official Discussion Thread

I would like to one of the last (if not the last) English froods to handle the BPP, so's I can send a gift with it to my ol' pal Hastina in Ireland. It's also just across the sea from where I am (Lancasterish) -- so postage should be cheapish :3.

But that's not really important at this time. ^__^; Glad to hear it's on the move!

Re: BPP: Official Discussion Thread

Ok, the main point of this here post is simply to notify the coordinators that I´m still interested on participating with the BPP.

By the way, out of pure curiosity (it itches a lot), what IS going to happen to the BPP once its tour around the world ends? Will it be framed? Who will keep it? How will we be able to enjoy it´s sheer awesomeness? etc. etc. etc.

Don't worry, you're still on the list. Everyone is. Unless they said they were dropping out. And even some of them are still on our list of people.

We never did figure that out. I think the three main sides were...

1. Auction the paper off to the highest bidder. All profits go towards improving the site. People didn't like this plan since whoever happened to have to most money would win, not the person who really wanted it most.

2. Make a hundred copies. Mail one off to every single person who signed the BPP. The only question is how exactly this one would be done. Who would make copies, how would we fund it, how would we actually manage to mail the copies across the world.

3. Auction off the original and send all participants a copy. A mix between the two. This one got the most support.

We never did decide which exactly to do. Or how to do it. So yeah, feel free to debate. Or suggest a brand new idea. I believe to old debate on the topic can be found towards the end of the original planning thread. (There should be a link to that thread in the first post.)

Re: BPP: Official Discussion Thread

we could auction it off and the money that the highest bidder pays will go towards funding the copying of the BPP for everyone else..

eh on second thought, that's probably not feasible...

dunno.

Re: BPP: Official Discussion Thread

I can copy it for free at school: I have an account on the copier.

If you post it to me, we can see up a... tree where someone in England mails the lot in five lots, perhaps, to the continents -- and they spread from there? I honestly don't have the money to manoeuvre that.

Re: BPP: Official Discussion Thread

Cody (Bedok, Singapre)-> Erik (Toulouse, France)-> Nictel (Gottingen, Germany)-> Hombre (Uppsala, Sweden)-> Future (Amstelveen, Netherlands)-> Shigeru (Tilburg, Netherlands) -> Sturs (Nijmegen, Netherlands)

(Check the first post for the current route. I'm tired of editting twice every time there's a change.)

Alrighty, since the paper is moving and we're running out of stops in Aussie, that the next part of the route. For now. It'll probably be different by the time this gets posted. Expect changes.

Awkin: That sounds great! As for shipping money... hmm... not sure what to do about that. Maybe have everyone that wants a copy pay a sending fee via PayPal? The other question would be, since it's going to be a while before the paper travels around the world, will you still have access to this magical copier in a year or two?

That could be debated, whoever is willing to pay the highest price for the BPP could be accounted as the one who desired it the most. I can see the "unfair" factor towards certain members with lack of resources though.

There seems to be someone already willing to make the copies. As for the funding, if so desired, each and everyone who wants a copy could pay for their own S&H.

Fair enough. Will the money of the auction fund this?

My personal suggestion would be that everyone who wants a copy should pay for their own expenses (S&H, copying, and any other cost that may come along the way) and that the person who first proposed the idea should keep the original BPP.

Re: BPP: Official Discussion Thread

Wasn't there also a suggestion floating around in the original thread that the original could be given to Lars or Scott (can't remember what name was tossed out there) as sort of a "Look what the forum accomplished" type of thing?

*goes to explore*

Edit: Nope. Can't find where it was said. Must've went down in the original thread durring the crash in the summer. Ignore me and continue on...

Re: BPP: Official Discussion Thread

I just spent all my money on a violin: It'd be easier if you want to paypal your cash to somebody: We can find someone in the UK who's over 18 and can handle money stuffs without having to work around my mother @__@.

I'm with the council -- so I can copy, I think, upto A2 size easily -- or I can go to a neighbouring council who have a theater: they do big, glossy posters for their shows: And my Dad happens to work there, so they could let me copy if we go double-pronged on them.

My number for the B&W copier stands for at least the next two years: Longer if I stay on at this school, and chances are my Dad's going nowhere.

In other words: Yeah, if we get creative.

Re: BPP: Official Discussion Thread

We should make a high res digital copy, put it on a deviant art account and sell it as a print, then auction the original.

What's this about needing an 18 year old? I will be in a month...
