BPP Mapping thread!

Map

Hey! We need this thread.

It's for planning the course of the Paper. I thought it was going to be based on distance, but Asia thinks it's better to base it on who you trust with your address. I think the only way it's going to work is by planning out what countries it's going to pass through, and picking it up as the Paper travels.

For example, let's just say Yami started it. Then Dom would jump in and PM Yami his address, since he would trust him with it, and Yami would send it to Dom. This would continue until it's been all over Europe, and then move on to the next country!

Whoever is comfortable with eating the cost of shipping it between countries, or, OVERSEAS, please PM me and make yourself known, since you will be going last in your area.

And, if you think I'm planning this ALL WRONG and it will be super hectic, TELL ME FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. I'm definitely willing to change plans if it will be easier for everyone.

Re: BPP Mapping thread!

I think we should keep it as closely based on location as possible. I mean, Most people on here are gonna be fine with just giving their address to the one person who has it before them. if there is anyone who only wants a specific person to have their address, I simply suggest that they say so before we get this thing started. Most people who have signed up for this already asked permisson, or don't need permisson (because we're gron-ups )

I say you just plan the route of the BPP, simply by location, and ask that enyone who has special circumstances come forward in the process. like-
Plan the oceana route first, and set it on its way. in the meantime, anyone down the line can make their special arrangements before it gets to them, you know what I mean?

Re: BPP Mapping thread!

Well, yes, I wouldn't want people shipping across countries any more than necessary. That'd just ruin everything.

It'd be a combination of who's close and who's trusted. Maybe I could PM whoever has the Paper with five choices of who they could send to?

And Jodd, I'm leaving the mapping project to you, since you seemed excited about it, and I kind of just jumped in and stole. Mister Assistant Manager. <3

I will see if I can get you (Asskey) and Jodd to be admins for the map. I contacted Frappr about why some peple can't see the map. Awaiting response.

AND- Asskey, jusy route the first leg and post up the plan. if anyone has a probem, they can speak up. if not, just get it started. have each person pm their address to the person before them.

Re: BPP Mapping thread!

Um, I'd say don't make anything too official until those last 21 people have marked themselves on the map.

Also, I'd say it makes more sense to go by distance. I mean, looking at the map if we go by who trusts who then some people might get skipped over. Let's say Yami sends it to Dom. Then they've just skipped over Lavvy, Loffy, and the person we have to hunt down because they didn't put a name. If we just go in order it's cheaper for everyone. And signing up for this project pretty much says that we're all willing to trust whoever we have to send it to. I'd say it just makes more sense to send it in order of who's where rather then going back and forth all over the place.

EDIT: Note to self: Nameless member at Isle (not Island) of Wight, England is Kitsune.

EDIT 2: Note that Jason is having map problems.

Re: BPP Mapping thread!

Can't you just play dot to dot with the map and then mess about if people don't approve?

Also Lavvy and Loffy know each other personally so one can receive and one can send, or they can split the fee.

Something like that. I'd like to have Perth last, before it leaves for Singapore, and Brisbane immediately before (so I can just have Pani/Bex send it, they already have my address).
Also we have an anonymous visitor in Adelaide, and unless they make themselves known, I cannot include them.

(Brisbane -> Perth)? If you say so. I would now suggest either Adelaide -> Melbourne -> Sydney -> Brisbane, or Melbourne -> Adelaide -> Sydney -> Brisbane.

The Adelaidian is (I believe) Jayolorin, or something spelt very similar to that. I'll go find her sign-up post.

EDIT: Found it. I'll see if I can find proof she's from Adelaide too.

EDIT2: Proof enough of Adelaide.

I'm working on it... Remember, Asci said everyone had to be on the map by September 7, so don't do anything too incredibly official til then. And I'm working on tracking down no name people. There was also a mystery person in Norway. I figure I'll PM them all again tomorrow. (By the way, a bigger PM box would be nice. After cleaning I'm still only 8 PMs away from the 90% full annoyance.)

Jodd, when you get to the east coast of the US, not sure what order you're going in, remember that Jason is somewhere in... NJ? Anyways, we're still having map problems.

EDIT: Eh, I got bored and sent more reminders today. There are 10 people signed up and not on map or without a reason to not be on it. 3 of them appear to be innactive-ish. The other 7 I've decided are just ignoring me. But yeah, I've PMed all those who have been on recently enough to have seen/ignored the other one. I figure if I get annoying enough with PMing people they'll eventually listen to me just to get me to shut up.

I already figured out who the anonymous Adelaidian was; see my previous post.

And I may have been able to convince a Canberran and Darwinian to sign up; they each just need to ask permission first. Due to Jodd's request of the Oceania run ending with Brisbane -> Perth -> Singapore, whether or not these two join in will change the route for the other cities, as well as adding one or two new destinations.

What was the final format of the BPP? A roll of paper, big piece, lots of pieces?

Re: BPP Mapping thread!

Whee, minor updates.

Kemata won't be able to get the BPP unless it's in Arkansas mid-December to mid-January or during the summer months.

Tirry says he doesn't know where he'll be when it actually comes around.

Ingo is officially out until further notification.

(Yeah, I'm just kinda listing things in this thread for now. Sorry about that.)

Jodd, I think they had decided on a roll of paper.
