Re: BATTLE GAMES: Schedule
Ok - wait; this post contains a lot of new information. So...3 people will take place in the singing contest? I thought it would be 1 person per category and 2 judges (1 male, 1 female)? Wouldn't that be much easier to organize? I mean...this whole war-thing shouldn't take too long and if you want to have 3 people on the same day, it's gonna be hard. Other than that; add in the rule 1 person can only sign up for 1 category, so you can do more than 2 battles per week and thus it will be more fair for all the females to have a chance in participating. Why not make a 'war-week' or something? Should be do-able.
Here's the post I made with my ideas ;p: http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/...ml#post2354319

Re: BATTLE GAMES: Schedule
hmm..
see, Shigs, if it's more than one person in each contest, we get more of a fair feel of "talent" within that area. It would be too rough if it falls on just one person's shoulders from each team :p Also, there are 7 categories, and a lot of them take SOME time at least to accomplish, So, singing, and writing an essay, as well as drawing - that is nOT going to happen within a day for each :p and it wouldn't be fair on the contestants either By having at least three in each team participating, we'll have a more balanced "result". So, none of the whole "AH BUT THAT PERSON WAS FLUKEY!" or "BECUZ YOU'RE BIASED COZ HE'S A VET" stuff :p a lot mORe people can take part, and we get a more realistic result :> 2 categories for each week will give people time to deliver., It;s no fun it's rushed .. or you disagree? feel free to tell me if you do!

Re: BATTLE GAMES: Schedule
HmmMmmMmz. I just look at it as something reaaaally chaotic to actually organize when it's getting this big. Oh well, we can give it a shot. To sum it up (if I'm right):
-6 contestants in every category; 3 males and 3 females. -You're only allowed to sign up for 1 category, so 21 females and 21 males will take place in this war. We've got to be strict here; we can't grant everyone's wish. You're either lucky or you're not. Depends a lot on the argumentation of course, since you want to win this ;p. -4 judges per category; 2 females and 2 males. -As a judge, you're only allowed to sign up for 1 category, so there will be 28 judges in total; 14 females and 14 males. Again; it depends on the argumentation. -The list: 1. Singing Competition 2. Dare Challenges 3. Brawl Showdown 4. PodCast Debate 5. Haiku-Off 6. Essay Battle 7. Artwork Melee -2 battles per week. -48 hours to respond (let's expand the time, since we're gonna need quite some players and judges) Did I leave out anything? And is this all gewd?

Re: BATTLE GAMES: Schedule
ALMost everything is gewd :>
I think we should make it so that people can sign up for TWO categories instead of 1 We do not have anywhere near as active girls as guys, and it'll be difficult to get 21 seperate lasses to join up, So, give people a chance to take part in mORe than 1 battle. 2 maximum should make it JUSt right :>

As I alone don't speak for the male race itself I can not say anything when it comes to the organisation ;p. I'm just trying to help out in here.
But this is looking good! Let's hope people will actually sign up :]. I'm about to promote this in every clan o:!

Re: BATTLE GAMES: Schedule
Do I understand it correctly when you say people sign up for two categories, that this goes for the judges as well?
Having 2 male and 2 female judges per category sounds good to me, but having 28 in total.. are we sure we have enough people for that? Just wondering.

Re: BATTLE GAMES: Schedule
Good point, Nenny
Actually, thinking about that - Don;t you guys agree with me that anyone taking part in ANY battles should NOT be allowed to Judge? How about we just choose 4 Judges straight off the bat - both teams agree on them, and they'll be the Judges throughout the whole thing? A lOT less hassle that way, and no bickering over bias. What do you say? Shots, you make a good point, Shall I write up my proposed way for each battle to go then we edit it or shall you? Actually, you do it If anyone disagrees, we'll change and tweak things till everyone's happy

Re: BATTLE GAMES: Schedule
Looking fantastic, Power Shot!
Though I am wondering about the dare battles. Is it a good idea to have only two of the judges design dares for the opposing team? I mean, judges are supposed to be neutral. So I'm wondering if you can't just have all judges create all dares. It might be strange for four judges to judge dares that were designed by two of them.

Re: BATTLE GAMES: Schedule
Looking really good Power Shot!
2 little things tho; Are you sure about the PodCast thingy? As far as I know, Anime_Queen doesn't really want to take part in that, so that could be a problem. If the judges are doing their job, it can be organised easily with more than 1 person. Wouldn't a number of 2/3 debaters for each gender be more fun? Usually, the two debating teams consist out of 2 people per team. That's how the official national debate-contests go in Holland, at least. The rest sounds really cool, tho the dare-thingy is pretty vague - the judges are supposed to be neutral, so having them to send over the dares isn't really...logic. Maybe the complete gender-groups can think of the dares?
