That's why there is this board: to plan.

I got this idea while I walking along the beach. There are really only three ideal bodies of water for this to be held in: Pacific Ocean, Altantic, and Lake Michigan. No Margar, Lake Eerie is just like Newark xD

I don't know. It was the randomest idea I ever came up with. Now someone go win the lottery to get money to provide for the transportation of ZU'ers

I happen to live 5 minutes away from a really nice beach on Lake Erie. it's a HUGE lake, not all of its beaches are gross!

It's about 2 1/2 hours away, but we could totally meet up, because that's far enough away that I'll have plenty of time to plan for it!

Re: ZU Community Center: Got an idea for a project? Read First Post!

EVERYONE LISTEN UP!

Please re-read the opening post.

This thread now has a clearly defined purpose!

to put it simply: a place to bounce your ideas for new projects off the rest of the community, so you can get a feel for level of interest, and hear other peoples' insight. You never know how awesome your project could become, when you allow others to add on to it with their suggestions. This is how the BPP project evolved. one person came up with a basic idea, and then it got suggestions and picked up support until it became what it is now.

BE FREE, MY BABIES!

*and read the first post, darnit!!!!!!*

Thanks

I have made about a zillion decisions/changes to this place in the last 10 minutes. I think I've finally got it how I want it!

I tried to make the thread title both creative and to-the-point.

success?

Re: ZU Community Center: Got an idea for a project? Read First Post!

What do these Community Coordinator banners that I see floating around actually represent? I assume they're related to this forum due to their including the word community, but are they more than just an ugly shade of orange?

EDIT: Actually, it's not that ugly on Shigeru, as he has a Site Staff (yellow) banner below it, and a Farore (green) banner below that. It's a nice progression of colors.

Re: ZU Community Center: Got an idea for a project? Read First Post!

Community Coordinators are people who are involved with the organizing and execution of community projects and events. We've got the Gender wars going on, and our judges and "leaders" have the banners. also, asskey is the main community coordinator, so he kind of helps regulate the projects we've got going on.

The BPP organizers also have banners.

all the coordinators have a special forum where they can go to work out the gritty details of their project in piece and quiet

Re: ZU Community Center: Got an idea for a project? Read First Post!

I've updated the first post and made a new "FAQ" one-post info thread about this forum, and included a new section explaining the Community Coordinators group. Read the first post or the FAQ thread.

Re: ZU Community Center: Got an idea for a project? Read First Post!

I've been tossing around an idea in my head as of late:

A ZU storybook project. It's a break-off from the storybook charity idea. Instead of for charity, it would be for us. A storybook or even a series of storybooks:

The World of ZU.

Think about it. We could have funny stories like "Jason's Day Off" or "Invasion of the I.D. Snatchers" or "Camping out with ZU." "Revenge of the Mods" ; "The Clan Wars" ; "A ZU Halloween" ; "Cody VS Powershot" ; "Powershot Saves ZU" ; "Duel of the Genders" ; "See Scott Run" ; "The Zulympics" ; "Talking Turkey on ZU" (Thanksgiving special) ; "Attack of the Trolls" ; "Asia Goes Shopping" ; "Meet the Moderators" ; "The Return of Hyrularity" ...

The possibilities are endless.

Of course, we don't have to go as far as to actually make binding books out of them, but they could be featured on the main site or something. They'd be easy storybooks that even little kids could read. It would be a group effort where some would write for the books, others would draw, or some could do both.

It would be a fun project, methinks.

That seems very similar to Asia's ZU manga/comic idea, but I can see both working; storybook for the writers, and manga/comic for the artists. I'm curious to see what other people think of the similarity though.
