Hello everyone, welcome to the Zelda Universe Member Quiz of the Week. Awhile back I ran something similar in the Fun and Games forum, but eventually grew tired of it. However, I recently had an idea to bring it back in an altered form. This is the result of that.
Every Monday (or, at least, every week) there will be a ten question quiz posted here. The subject will be a member here on ZU! These ten questions can be about anything, from what clan they're in on ZU to what job they hold in the real world. So long as they've mentioned it here or to their friends, it's fair game.
There will be three kinds of questions: Multiple choice, true or false, and fill in the blank. Each question is worth one point unless otherwise noted in the quiz. After the time is up, I will tally up the scores and post them here. Generally the quizzes will be out for 5-6 days, allowing a little bit of time for discussion of the results to take place and for me to make sure I have the next quiz ready to pop out. I'm not sure what people will get for having the best score, but I'm considering that the person with the highest score every 5 or so quizzes can choose who the next quiz will be about.
Before I post the quiz, I will contact the next person and collaborate with them to make sure the ten questions and their answers are accurate, and that they are comfortable with said questions. I'll also ask for them to give me a couple questions themselves.
There are a few rules:
Don't ask me to make the next quiz about you! I (and possibly other staff members) will be deciding this. You're welcome to nominate other people, but don't beg to have one about you.
Don't cheat. I can't exactly tell if someone is cheating unless they outright tell me, but be a good sport. Once you start the quiz, finish it. Don't go browsing ZU or facebook, or IM or text someone. Don't be a dick.
Don't spam up this thread. Asking questions or talking about the quiz results is okay, but please don't have conversations. If people start going off topic and cluttering this thread, posts may be deleted.
PM me your quiz when you finish it. Don't IM me, VM me, or do anything that isn't you PMing me.
When you PM me, copy the quiz when you send it to me (aka make sure you have both the question and the answer in the PM)
So you may be asking, why? What's the point of these quizzes? Well, I'm going to try and make quizzes about all kinds of people: SDers, people from different clans, BA folks, etc. It's a community building activity. Perhaps you'll see that someone has the same aspirations as you, or is highly influenced by someone you happen to like as well. You can start up a conversation with that person. If you can only answer one or two questions about someone, you should VM them and get to know 'em better.

I did, but i had a really hard time. i dont know much about hockey or marriages or beer, and i havent been in the army for a very long time either... :(
You say the purpose of this is to let us get to know our fellow members, yes? But since we're not supposed to look things up, we don't really get to know them better—you're really just rewarding people who already know the person. And if we could look them up, we'd all get 100%.
So... Why don't you reveal the subject of the quiz in advance of the quiz itself? Between the announcement of the subject and the posting of the quiz, everyone would have the opportunity to look over the subject's posts, facts about him, etc... and then there'll be real motivation to get to know that member. It seems like it would be a more efficient way of accomplishing your stated goal.
Cool idea, as if none of us are going to look up stuff for answers. x3
I bet I got seven out of ten correct. I've never really talked to Notsil, but I've read a lot of posts on ZU, sooo...
