I keep wanting to post in this thread but haven't been able to do so until now.
In no particular order:
Tabby
You are easily one of the most hilarious, personable, and knowledgeable people in the
ZU community. Talking with you for the past year or so has totally changed how I write, how I act, and how I think. For example, until I met you I had no idea that the marines were different from the army, in any military. More recently, I used to think that a battleship was any ship with weapons. About half of everything I know about the military and strategy comes from you. Thanks to stalking your Youtube favorites, I began to start loving military marches. Also, I learned that not all Youtube poop is bad. We've only played games online together a handful of times, but my love of strategy games expanded a lot because of you. Up to last year, when I met you, my strategy for a game of Civilization was:
1) Choose random civilization
2) Build up a military without regard for cost
3) Make technology at random
4) Build as many improvements as possible
5) Cry after getting into debt, having to cut the military, and being owned by barbarians.
I'm way less uptight about a lot of stuff because of you, and you also got me into using Steam regularly.
Raptor Buddha
Oh man. Where to begin? Raptor Buddha, you are easily one of the most approachable and intelligent people here. Somehow you're able to juggle genius and humility, something few others can lay claim to. You manage to come of as an expert on like every topic and a friendly, down-to-earth guy. Much like in the case with Rhian/Tabby, I know way more about a lot of stuff (law and history, mostly) because of the days' worth of chats and hours of calls we've had over Skype. Some of your posts are just incredibly hilarious, and you may or may not be the most visually recognizable person on the site. Your Edwardian Swag is also pretty much unbeatable. Also, despite not being very active in this discipline, you're an amazing actor. You're a voice acting virtuoso, and it's a small wonder that you've done a bit of VA work. I'm so glad that I was introduced to you, months ago in Dinskype.
Alberto/Double AA
First off, you're the first Kiwi person I ever met, which is cool. Until I met you I thought New Zealand was just sheep and liberal politics (Oh wait, it is). You're a really funny guy. Like, really funny. Each conversation with you is a delight. I also enjoy the fact that you have a cock as your Skype profile picture, showing that you aren't bothered by petty issues like modesty.
Matt/GWN
I'm not sure what I can say that hasn't already been said. You know what, I'll summarize what I love about you in bullet form.
- You are the most level-headed Conservative that I know. Unlike very many right-wingers, you can eloquently describe and explain your positions, and have very reasonable evidence and backing to each opinion that you stand by.
- You're a pervert, but not a creepy one. Kinda like Rhian, you say the filthiest stuff, but you're so suave that it's funny. Like, you could announce your plan to molest a bus full of schoolgirls, and then tape the act, and all of the Youtube comments would be like "lol ur funny".
- You're funny and smart. That's not an opinion, that's an objective fact. So many of your posts make me laugh or think. Usually both.
Nesi
Oof, so much to say. First, let it be said that you're probably the most interesting person that I know on
ZU, personality-wise. If we were a TV show, you'd be the only realistic character, everyone else would be a flat stereotype. That didn't make any sense, so I'll elaborate:
Nesi, you're such a unique person. I mean that in a good way. You manage to be really intelligent and totally silly, as well as very demure and extremely lecherous. Your opinions, particularly on European politics and history, are very compelling. Until I met you, I assumed that any anti-Gypsy sentiment was just out of racism. Also, you're the only Hungarian person that I know well. And I knew like nothing about Hungary until we started speaking. I may have been able to place it on a map, and I knew that the capitol was Budapest, but that was about it. You've showed me how important history is in some places, given the poignancy of World War I and the Soviet Occupation in your country. Also, I love your opinion on if Hungary is in Eastern or Central Europe. To paraphrase, "I call it Eastern Europe when I'm mad at the government." For a while I equated nationalism with fascism, Nazism, and other ultra-right-wing policies, but you've showed me that they're completely different matters.
You're so random, which is great. The call I had with you last weekend, in which you may or may not have been drunk, was awesome. You're certainly quite... passionate.
Brian/Golddron/Baritaemus
You're such a bro. And I don't mean "bro" in the sense of a 20 year old guy who drinks a lot and likes to spend his time at strip clubs (although that does describe you). If I saw you on the street, I'd feel compelled to fist bump you. Brian, you're an incredibly nice and caring person. I've never once seen you actually be upset, or ever seem hateful. You've taught me a lot about how the air force works, and why Michigan is made up of two unconnected peninsulas. You're a great guy 24/7, and some of your jokes are great. You're so cool that it's unfair I'm only mentioning you in one little paragraph.
Liah
Okay, so, you might do the most of any mod. You're just
always working. Besides playing a major part in ZUBC, you're in charge of many different
ZU activities, and do normal mod stuff, to boot. Still, you never act big headed at all, or ever seem to abuse your power. We've only spoken to each other privately five or six times, but you always come off as a very, very mature, calm, and headstrong young leader. And that's what you are: a leader. If the
ZU community would have one avatar, I think it would have to be you. I don't know how you do it, but you're able to maintain a friendly relationship with literally a third of the forum, maybe more. That's a
lot of people. How do you do it? You do so much work, and, more importantly, do each of your jobs well. It's remarkable, really. Truly remarkable.
There's a huge chance I'll make another big love post. So, brace yourself,
ZU.
