For anyone who doesn't know, Vynrah lives in Savannah GA, I live in Brampton Ontario. So for our one year aniversary I arranged a visit to surprise her. This was the big surprise.

Also, it was an excuse to wear my tux (and yes Forte, it is a fake bow tie, but my dad lead me to believe he had a real one...)

Zelda Universe,

It is to my great sadness that I have to announce a terrible and unforeseeable tragedy that has just occurred in my life. On February 24, at 12:23 am, my dear friend Beard departed this world. Beard and I had been multi-week long friends who shared a very real, almost physical, bond. In fact, we shared everything. We shared a house, we shared food, we shared dreams and desires, and we shared all of life’s triumphs and tragedies—well, as much life as one can have in two weeks at any rate. Where Beard has gone, I know not. I can only hope that wherever he is--a place that’s certainly not the drain of my sink--that he’s happier. I simply ask that the Zelda Universe Community be understanding in this time of sorrow, razor burn, and general hairlessness. I just feel so empty right now…

Oh, wait, that’s just the feeling of my face not itching anymore.

I have posted pictures to memorialize his legacy.

So I told Nesi that I was going to shave. I would like to say that it’s because I no longer wish to look like I am collecting a pension, but in fact it’s because I have a cold. Anyone with any visual imagination is aware that the ballistics of a sneeze do not comport well with facial hair. So, beard had to be sacrificed for the greater good—namely health.

Also my fiancé is coming down this weekend, and she actively discriminates against things that feel like sandpaper. Racist.

However, weep not, for it only takes me about a week or two to sprout another beard. His legacy shall continue.

In any case, I promised Nesi I would document the experience, but I felt in a rather silly mood this evening and decided to have a bit of fun with it. So you can all thank (or alternatively, depending on how my fugliness is received, vilify) her for the idea.
