World Food Day

Every year on October 16th around the world, people celebrate the creation of the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization. The FAO work to eliminate hunger around the world by helping both developing and developed areas of food production.

Every year the day has a theme. This year's is "Food prices - from crisis to stability". Many places can not afford to being in food, and in result, end up going hungry. But by raising money, the FAO helps to bring farming and income sources to these areas. We can help too. For example, support local farming helps to ensure that the prime farm lands we have available to us will remain farmland and not get bought out for developement. In turn this will help avoid food shotages everywhere. There's a lot everyone can do, to find out more follow the link to the World Food Day website.
