Their getting rid of the clans! Why?! Just because they're partly hosting doesn't mean they can change every thing. I haven't even ben in a clan yet. I can't believe this.

I think it's time for a post of actual value.

Some things to consider, Trey:

You said yourself that one of the main reasons for GameSpot wanting ZU was because of this community. The things which make this community what they are are precisely what you apparently want to change. Namely:

• ZU's rules for spam, double posting, etc. are considerably more strict than most other forums. While there are many people out there who don't like that, it creates a very pleasant forum atmosphere. By lessening them, it not only angers these...sadly hypocritical...members, but it also allows for people to degrade the community.
• The clans are another aspect of ZU which make it what it is. The clans are technically "exclusive groups," but every member can join one, once they've been here for a couple of weeks. Removal of the clans creates another large annoyance to many of this 'esteemed' community. It would also take away from the uniqueness which is ZU.
• You have also said that the ZU database will become part of GameSpot's database. If you mean it will simply be in the same database, but still the ZU forums, and not a sub-section of the GameSpot forums, then I, nor anyone else should have a problem with it, and you should more clearly state that. However, if by that you meant that ZU will be integrated as a sub-forum of the GameSpot boards, you will anger a very large portion of this community. Some will remain, as I will, but many will leave, and the ZU community which you want will be no more.

I'm sure there was something else...but I don't remember right now, and I have typed more than enough for the moment.

Also, welcome to the ZU forums, and once people calm down, you will be able to see that people here are generally good, and forgiving.

Yeah, mostly what is bothering people is what may happen to the community. If you want the site for its good community, this is about to be a thing of the past. I for one, am not about to leave or revolt about what is going on.

The rules are the base of this good community, if you pull those, it's gone. Everything about this board has become a tight community. If the foundation is pulled from it, what we have no longer exsists. Everything revolves about that axis.

I am not revolting against GameSpot at all, this may even turn out for the better. If some things are kept you can guarantee this will go smoothly.

I hate this. Lars,I liked you. Then you did this. I will say that selling this place is a horribly stupid idea. Ban me for this, I don't want to be a member of this cruddy place. You'll probably make ZU members pay like GS ones. Do you realise these are the only forums I have! I hate you all! Bye ZU, it's been a blast enjoying you until now. Well I somewhat agree with you. This community, since we heard the news, has basically torn into a war. Everyone's yelling and getting mad, saying stuff like "DOWN WITH GS", which is just worsining the situation for all of us.

Sure GS combined with us could be better, but if you've read what so far, it just means taking away everything unique about ZU (eg. Clans, Adopting etc.), and pushing ZU into a "mini ZU" on GS. That just makes me mad, but I am willing to give it a try, and if we fail, then I'm gone.

And dekuaxelmage, you don't have to be so negitive, try it out and see what happens, if it fails horribly then I will leave with you.

RE, I know it will suck. With a merge of the forums, there will be ZU members and GS members in all sorts of wars. Then there will be new members who join after the merge, and they will start all sorts of peace threads. We will divide the boards, like they did in the KH2 board in gamefaqs message board. I don't think it will be a disaster, ohhhh, I know!

Well, we can still see what will happen. I'm somewhat curious, I dont know about you. Hopefully you stay to see what happens, before bailing on ZU. It most likely will suck, but possibly some decision shall be made to end this, and to get our community back to normal.

This could be interesting. I'll stick around to see what happens.

Heh, well as Sear can atest, I did ponder this a few days ago. But I will admit(I'm a big enough man to do so) I was starting to fall on the verge of belief, so good job on making it look real. But I was still on the right track before hand, heh. I'm holding on to that fact and you can't have it!

Well, I wonderd for a bit if it was an April fools joke... but so many non-mods left etc. etc. Ah well, good to know that it was all just a big joke.
