Zelda 2099?

This sounds weird, but what about zelda game set far into links future, in the year 2099, where link suddenly appears after an explosion that occured after battling some unknown villain. Link is totally bewildered by all the technology, and decides to lea ve it alone, and keep with his trusty sword and sheild.
But as you go through the game, he needs more updated weapons. Like instead of silver arrows, energy arrows. Something like that. Basically what I'm talking about, is what if there was a zelda game set in the future?

Link and technology = not a good game.

I like Link in his medieval world of magic and the unknown. Technology just won't work. And I know that there is some technology in their world, advance technology such as today is something that I don't want to see in the world of Zelda.

Yes, but look at it this way- mediaval times- to link and everyone else, magic is unknown. So, simple fact is, to link an anyone else from his time, all this technology, this futuristic world, is just a world af magic. Evil magic, is what link would probably assume.
Perhaps he could keep his standard weapons, and use vthem to find ways round modern technology. alln these defence systems nowadays, no one expects (the companies who make security systems) expect people to try breaking in with a sword, so he could get past them.

Hmmm well, I'm not really too sure. Link using his sword and jumping on top of moving buses and slashing electrical gates won't be too amusing. He would get shot by police, raiding by the FBI and being called a freak by society. It might as well be GTA-Link down Town than Zelda.

Okay, so not only a futureistic Zelda, but one set in our own world? No, just no.

ROFL!!! Hilarious as!

But the idea of it... Actually Antartica might not exist anymore because of Global Warming. Link would have to fire an Ice Arrow within the ocean and no... Just no.

I don't think that people would like an elf to save our world.

Imagine Green Peace playing this sort of thing... They will be aiming for Nintendo rather than the whalers.

Not too fond of the idea of a Zelda in a modern setting. It wouldn't feel right. They could make more areas like Great Bay Temple though, as that technology worked fine.

I made it, whipped it up when I saw this thread.

Basically that video (which the whole future Zelda idea grew from) has quite a few flaws, like the fact that the pictures do not seem like Zelda at all. There isn't a Zelda feel to the, not even a "furute" Zelda feel

id actually keep in the medieval ages as well because well i like magic better than the whole sc-fi deal

Then I'd break everything I own that Nintendo is in anyway involved with.

We live in a world of technology. Why on earth would went want to play a game that exists in our world?

I want to escape to some place in a game that does not exist in our world.

exactly i never coulda figured that out on my own i was confused on why i wouldnt want it to be modern now i do, its to common and bland. thanks you have made me realize something i wouldnt have otherwise.
