Desviado

Name: Desviado Okuboji

Age: 23

Race: Human

Sex:
Male

Hair: Dark brown, pulled back into a ponytail. It's medium length, so the ponytail isn't that long.

Eyes: Grey-green.

Weight: 136 lbs.

Height: 5' 9"

Weapon:
Desviado carries around a lance with him. It is a generic lance, with a steel shaft and a steel head. However, Desviado carved in historic writings of his village into the shaft, as he believes it will bring him luck and honor to him.

Strengths: Desviado is skilled at using a lance, and hand to hand combat. He also is trained with using ice and silencing magic.

Weakness: Desviado is "mute". He is not completely mute, rather he simply chooses not to speak, as it gives him intolerable migraines. These migraines can get to the point where he sleeps for days on end to rid them. Desviado is also very susceptible to fire magic, as his tribe is located in snowy mountains.

Skills/Magic: Desviado is trained with ice and silencing magic.

Lanzbana (Icicle Spear)- Desviado creates an icicle jutting out of the ground under hid enemy. He can also use this spell to create flat boxes of ice, rather than spear-shaped chunks, to create makeshift platforms.

Gradazi (Hailstorm)- Calling snowstorms, Desviado can force large spheres of ice from the sky, but only in a limited area.

Frierung (Freeze Touch)- Desviado can enchant his hands with freezing properties to chill a person or object, freezing them on contact. He can also enchant his lance with the same spell for a similar effect.

Verschie (Meld)- Desviado can meld with water or ice to create a safe haven, but only is there is a sufficient amount of water or ice available.

Ragiato (Frozen Beam)- By concentrating large amounts of energy to the end of his lance, Desviado can shoot a beam of ice magic towards an enemy. He can slo do the same from his hand.

Asrode (Silence)- Desviado can prevent an enemy from speaking or casting spells by silencing them. This spell only affects a single enemy, but is the most efficient. The usual silence can last from 3 - 7 minutes, depending on how strong the enemies mind is.

Asrode Gadeit (Silence Area)- It is similar to the Asrode spell, but instead Desviado can silence an area rather than just one person. However, the spells power becomes weaker with each person silenced. The time range is similar to the single target spell, but the time is reduced depending on how many enemies were affected.

Cerelagia (Clear Mind)- By silencing thoughts in his or another persons mind, they can concentrate more easily. This way, spells can be cast more efficiently, and can clear out a mind control/reading.

Leisil sie Gemb (Drain Mind)- Learned from dark creatures called Mirah, Desviado can drain the thoughts of a person near him. However, this is not drained for an advantage, as it hurts Desviado too. By draining their mind, he are literally converting their though process into energy. Say his target is thinking of an apple. That thought is taken from his mind, and created into energy, leaving that person to forget about the apple they were thinking of. Once the spell drains most of the enemies thought process, it attacks the targets body to physically hurt them.

Appearance: Desviado is a little taller than average. His skin is pale from growing up in a cold, harsh environment, and has a grayish tint to it. He has a toned build, working from when he was young.
Clothing- In normal clothing, Desviado usually wears a neutral green, fur lined vest with a rustic tan ruffled shirt under it. Over this, he has a tan leather jacket. He also wears a tan hooded cloak. Desviado wears tan pants, and thick brown boots. He also has gloves made of the same material as his boots.
Armor- When Desviado heads out, he wears a chain link shirt in between his shirt and his jacket. The chain link has metal plating over his chest. He also has metal plating on his boots and gloves.

Personality: Personality: Despite being mute, Desviado is very sarcastic, cynical, and a jerk. He tends to follow only those who he feels a significant amount of trust with, which tends to be not very many people. He has a commitment problem to things as well, being unable to hold a relationship or promise for long. Despite being a rather unpleasant person, Desviado tends to follow his heart, and tries to do things for the better of people.

Biography: Desviado was born in a small, mountain village named Solegra. In this town, the people work all day mining in the mountains to earn money. They believe in the mountain goddess, Koele, who watches them from the mountain of Koeleburg. This goddess protects the people from the dangers within the mountain, called the Merahs. The Merahs, which are beings of darkness, consume the thoughts of people they draw near for power. They would then take a brain dead person, and create them into a Merah.
Though, these were just legends that Desviado learned when he was young.

The town of Solegra did exist, and they did pray to the goddess. But, the Merah's were just a tale used to keep children away from the mountains. From the time Desviado was born, he never spoke. Or, he would speak on a very rare occasion. However, when he did speak, he would lock himself away in his room, and not come out of the darkness until a few days later. His parents did not understand Desviado's behavior. They took their child to the villages shaman to try to cure him of his problems. The shaman, however, saw potential in Desviado. He was ordered to take him in as an apprentice to learn the magics of the mountains.

After many years of being under the training of the shaman, Desviado, now 17, had to undergo a task set by the shaman. He was to venture deep into the abandoned mines in Koeleburg mountain to retrieve an artifact of ice. A few years beforehand, the mines were destroyed after a mysterious attack. Desviado willingly took the task, and headed off to the mines. Inside, there were glowing blue lights, the gems that were the source of Solegra's economy. After heading around the barren mines for an hour, Desvaido came to a locked vault. Unable to open the vault on his own, Desvaido used his ice magic to freeze the lock on the vault, snapping it off. When he opened the vault, it was dark, and a wave of musky air came out. He entered the vault with a lantern, and looked around. It was small, and only had a few things inside. However, in the center of the vault was a scroll, rolled up and held with a thin, blue cloth. Desviado picked up the scroll, believing it was the artifact. He left the vault, and made his way through the mines. However, he had left the vault opened.

Reaching towards the entrance, Desviado began hearing strange echoing behind him. He turned around, seeing a distorted, dark figure behind him. The figure looked similar to himself. It was then that he knew; the Mirah were not a legend. He stood defensively, waiting for the Mirah to move. However, the Mirah stood still, until it reached and arm out towards Desvaido.

"Leisil sie Gemb... Leisil sie Gemb!" The Mirah hissed, holding its arm towards Desviado still. A blue light began to seem out of Desviado's forehead, leaving Desviado to grow weary. Not knowing what to do, Desviado ripped open the scroll, with the last bit of thoughts he still had left. He quickly read through the parchment, it being a teaching scroll of silencing magic. Desviado looked up towards the Mirah.

"Asrode." Desviado muttered, causing the Mirah to screech. After a second, the Mirah lost it's voice, and the blue stream of light returned to Desviado's forehead. Desviado held his own arm out to the Mirah.

"Leisil sie Gemb!" He hissed to it, repeating the own words the Mirah tried to kill him with. The Mirah vanished into light, as it had no mind of it's own to be drained.

Tired, Desviado returned to the shaman. The shaman told him that Desviado was allowed to leave the village, as there was nothing else to be taught. Desviado, taking a lance that hung on the walls, left the shaman's home. He walked towards the village gates, but stopped in his tracks. He saw his own home near the gates, but it was vacant. His own parent's had stranded him in the village. Though, Desviado did not care, being taught that resentment was an act of self pity. He walked out of the village gates, vowing to never return. Desviado wanders the lands, searching for challengers to battle, and new ways to look upon life.

Excellent character, however there are just a few things I would like changed.

Firstly; I would like to see a time limit on silencing characters, and secondly; What do you mean by draining thoughts? Like mind reading or what?

I edited the post. The spells that had the adjustments made are in grey, and the parts added are in bold italics.

May I suggest the Dome? It is a nice place for beginners to get a feel for how we do things here, and it helps your writing a little bit to boot. Have fun. ^_^
