Tularis Sepher

Race: Drow (cave dwelling dark elf)

Name: Tularis Sepher

Age: 80 (looks about 23)

Hieght: 6'3"

Wieght: 163 lbs

Eyes: the color of ruby grapefruit

Hair: Shock white, short and spiked up, longest at the forehead. (subject to change with my mood)

Appearance:
Tularis is a drow, and as all drow have, he has ebony black skin; so black that it’s almost blue, shock white hair, and fuchsia eyes, with sockets sunken in his head like a European. He’s got a long, roman nose, and high cheek bones, like an elf or a Native American, and his forehead is high sloped like a Caucasian. Overall his features are very striking, he looks like he could be a member of the white race with black skin.

Personality:
All Tularis knows is the Drow way. He expects everyone he meets to be pragmatic, and anyone who could be defined as naive or ignorant he will be suspisious that they might be the most dangerous people of all. He doesn't know it yet, but he's trying to make all people more like poeple on the surface world.

Drow houses: It is the drow way, that if one house can annihilate another house without any direct evidence of who did it, that house will go up in stature. Any sloppiness, like evidence of the attack, or surviving house members, is punishable by death, and the highest drow houses deal out those punishments with ferocity.

Drow are known for their cunning, their advanced weaponry, in craft and in magic embuement. They are also known for their torture, their stealth, and for being a pragmatic race. The greatest human assassin who ever lived could visit a drow city and find a whole city of people of like mind to himself, and he would find many drow who would be better at his craft, and he would be dross, little better in a drow’s mind than a useful back for slavery.

Drow, by and large, serve and worship Lady Lolth, the demon goddess of chaos and destruction. About 90% of drow culture is matriarchal, with the women and their daughters taking up the highest governmental seats in drow houses. Male drow cannot hope to get a higher calling than that of first boy, and those drow are meant to be the princlings, and greatest fighters of the guild houses. Tularis was one such drow, in a drow house that practiced the psychic arcane, the art of mind control and ‘magic’ of the mind, and Talcum was the weapons master, his teacher.

Weapons: Tularis uses a sabre, which is a hulky version of a scimitar with a handle guard like a rapier. In his guard hand he uses a dirk, which is an extremely long knife with a triangular point. Drow are ambidextrous fighters, they’ll kill you with either hand just as likely, and their swordsmanship is mostly unmatched. Tularis isn’t exactly the best swordsman, but he can easily defeat the average human warrior.

Skills: Tularis is what his race calls a mind flayer, a psionicist.

Telekinesis: Like what Jedi or Jean Grey can do, generally he can jump higher and sort of float in the air, and create force fields and throw objects at people without touching them. Using this is a lot like using a muscle, and wieght and distance greatly effects his fatigue. Anything that might struggle against this power will also tire him out more quickly.

Globe of darkness: About 4-5 feet in diameter, and they last about 3 minutes. Tularis can cast them anywhere he can see. They are impenetrable darkness. He can cast them at a single light source in a room and the room will go completely dark. He can cast them at a person’s head and the person will think he has gone blind until he moves out of the globe. The only way to get rid of them is to dispel them with light magic; if you don’t have light magic then you can’t, period. Drow use them to evade enemies, casting two and hiding in one, or casting one and using it to escape completely. Most efficient drow fighters are also trained to fight in complete darkness, with little deficiency.

Stone skin: Tularis’s skin actually becomes bullet proof, and there is no visible change, he can cast it instantaneously. Although this cannot be dispelled by conventional magic, this ability also has a fatigue factor over time. Generally all damage effects the ability's effectiveness

Psi blade: Tularis can extend his swords’ reach, effectively the blade stays the same length, but its slashing path becomes visibly longer, up to five feet away from him.

Drow abilities:

Levitation: This is only up and down motion, and not as effective as his telekinesis. Drow can stay in the air as long as they can concentrate on doing so.

Fyre: harmless flames of different colors, he can cast them at anything he can see, they don’t burn, but are really good at fooling opponents, and illuminating objects or people.

Drow sense: Drow have infrared vision, and their eyes glow if they choose them to. Their skin is ultrasensitive to heat patterns, they can track people in underground caves by the heat left in the stone by footprints. They also have great direction underground, as they can sense underground air currents, toxicity, and even finding water. They can track entities with no heat by the echoes off the stone.

Weaknesses:

Drow are not really stronger than regular humans, and they are not much faster, they are also ultrasensitive to light, and slightly superstitious about the harm of the sun’s rays. Years of living on the surface can train them to get used to it, but they generally wear cowls to cover their faces and block the light.

Biography:

As the shaft behind them collapsed, half with rocks, and half with the tremors of the psychic drow, Talcum got into a coughing fit. Tularis finally let his guard down, he was beyond exhaustion, his body screamed at him to stop scanning at the walls, but he remained ready to spring at the slightest threat. Presently, Talcum’s coughing took on a measured chortle and then a gagging, like he was laughing.
“Now we see the folly of the Drow. We are an infection to them! They would sooner suffocate the surgeon than let him cut out the cancer! They would sooner die than deal with the pain of healing.”
“What are you talking about?” Tularis interrupted the veteran’s ravings. “We’re going to die in here, and you’re talking about healing the drow like we’ve accomplished something!”
Talcum’s coughing became a fit of triumphant laughter once again, “oh yes, cornered like rats we are! I suppose they thought themselves clever, luring us to the outskirts where no one would see them as they disposed of us. That is the Drow way, is it not?”
“Exactly!” Tularis interrupted as the clever old genius made to continue his crazy rant. “And unless you have a plan, another trick behind that many pocketed cape of yours we will have started this all in…” The sparkle, the sheer weight of energy pouring from those red eyes as they pierced the darkness made Tularis stop.
“A plan indeed. How clever of me, then to prepare our escape nearly an hour in advance and have them think they’re luring us to a dead end.” Talcum moved to the side and tapped on a rock, which shifted and then wavered right out of existence, revealing a short passageway where two giant lizards were already besaddled and ready to transport them away. ”Now, if you will allow a sick drow to catch his breath for a moment, we will be on our way”

more on the bio to come.

Re: Tularis Sepher

Fairly good. However, he needs a few adjustments.

First, I would like to see a limit on his telekinesis. Otherwise, he could just throw an opponent around and never let them have a chance. I would also like to see a limit on his Stone Skin ability. Again, he could just cast it at the beginning of the battle and never get injured.

Second, the biography is suppose to be a summary of the character's life. You just have a point of time here, and an imcomplete one at that. You need to write about Tularis' life. You can include this moment in this kind of detail if you want, though.

Okay, work on those things and I'll take another look at him.
