Insaney's Sane Characters
*** Rain Seraph The Demon's bane. Rain Seraph prior to the Ascension. Rain Seraph after the Ascension: Name : Rain Seraph Age: Over one millennium and counting (looks like he’s 23) Race: Grim Angel (black-winged angel that serves no one). He still retains most of his vampyric aspects. Gender: Male Eyes: Light gold. (His irises turn light purple and his pupils become slits when using Nightingale and/or wings) Hair: Shortish and Blackish. height: 6 feet 1 inch Weight: 130lbs Themesongs: JJ Burnel - You Won't See Me Coming Weapons: Nightingale: A long, dark, slightly curved staff. It is light, smooth and indestructible, forged from the material that angels use to make their weapons and armor. It is hollow, as it houses something more deadly. The staff and it's weapons inside can absorb or dissipate any type of holy or light magic, offensive or defensive. Dark/Evil magic has no effect on him once he's holding the weapon. The staff can be dematerialized and rematerialized at any time, no matter where it is or who's holding it. He only draws the two blades when he wants to, preferring that they be kept concealed most of the time. Night: A long katana hidden in the staff. It is extremely sharp and never gets dull. The blade is dark, but it shines a gold-ish colour when there is light. When the sword is swung, it 'hums'. The humming weapons are an attribute associated with Grim Angels. Other than that it has the attributes of a normal katana. Gale: On the opposite end of the staff from which the katana is drawn, a kodachi (short katana) is hidden. Like Night, Gale is indestructible and the blade is dark. Unlike Night, however, it does not hum. The shortsword acts as defense, but the blade is as sharp as it's longer brother. As a small side note: when two Grim Angels' weapons clash, the sound is similar (it's a little higher pitched) to tolling bells. Weapons for Present Day settings: Sawn-off shotgun: He's terrible with it, so it's rarely used. Most times he leaves it behind. Because of his aiming skills with guns, he usually runs out of ammo once he tries to shoot something. Weapons for Futuristic settings: A one handed black pistol (similar to the ones his sister carries) that is as powerful as a shotgun, and can shoot both physical shells and energy blasts that can burn on contact. Armour: none Strengths: He can walk on walls, and is extremely agile. His humane appearance grants him safety from being noticed when walking among humans. He is also fully nocturnal, making him gain an acute advantage of eyesight in the dark. He can jump higher, and further than any vampire or angel. When he is injured severely, he can heal instantly by drinking blood… (Which he only drinks for extremely critical injuries, lost limbs can be regenerated instantly this way). Small cuts and bruises can instantly regenerate without him having to drink blood. With his wings he cannot fly, but he can glide. He is now even faster and stronger than his former vampyric self. Although his speed is way above his strength. One word to describe his speed is simply: 'unparalleled', he can move so fast that he cannot be seen, he can move even faster than this, creating an illusion that makes him seem like he's still standing there, while he's really moving at breakneck speed (the image of him standing there is burned into the retina of the viewer, so Rain can move faster than it takes to send a message from the eye to the brain). Like his sister, he is extremely observant and knowledgeable, but he does not possess photographic memory, which makes her a cut above him. Rain also has alot of knowledge about demons, implanted into his mind during the fusion when he became a Grim Angel-Vampire hybrid. Rain is also very combat oriented, knowing different styles and how to dodge/counter most attacks. He can fight expertly unarmed, with his staff, or with his swords. Weaknesses: Has no armor, so if someone wanted to kill him with a normal stake through the heart, they could. He isn’t invulnerable, so he can be critically injured. Crucifixes and holy water no longer have any effect on him, but silver can deal the same damage. Magic/Skills: ~Bleeding Hell Butterflies/Crimson Seize -- These are paper thin red ‘butterflies’ (Yes, I said ‘butterflies’) that can be easily summoned out of Rain’s sleeves or the back of his cloak. They materialize somewhere around his elbow or upper-back areas. These butterflies are limitless and take no energy (or incantation) to summon or control. One of these is strong enough to break a glass pane by repeatedly slamming into it, while it is thin enough to slip effortlessly under doors or into cracks and crevices. They are also strong, able to withstand swords or bullets, which just knock them out of the sky. When not being controlled, they act like normal butterflies, flying around slowly until they ascend into the stratosphere, where they burst into tiny shreds. When under control, Rain can have them fly up to speeds of approximately 100 miles per hour, able to pack a hit powerful enough to shatter one inch thick glass. Bleeding Hell Butterfly. (Actual size) They are about as large as your hand with your fingers spread wide and appear to have no visible eyes, mouths or appendages. However, they do bite if they can get close enough (it basically feels like a hard pinch) and their non-visible claws can scrape so hard, they can shred paper perfectly. ~Truth – This ability is never ending, he can tell whether a human is not a human, but actually of another species in disguise. He doesn’t have to will himself to see it, he just does. On moment, it looks perfectly normal to him, and then he blinks, and whatever it is is revealed to him. This ability also allows him to sense when demons or angels are around him. The stronger the demon, or angel, the stronger this sense tingles. This is also used to see spirits that aren't normally seen. These spirits can be souls, good or bad. ~Healing Blood - The ability to regenerate automatically after receiving cuts and bruises. He can only heal small wounds on himself, but when he uses his blood to heal others, it can even regenerate a lost limb. To apply this to others, Rain has to either cut himself and place his blood on their wound OR they can instead drink the blood. ~Advanced Shinsoku/God-speed - The constant unparalleled speed that is described in the Strengths section. He can speed up any part of his body, even his eyes. When he speeds up, everything slows down, as if time itself has slowed down. ~Sub-Reflex - Rain's body is so tuned to battling, that he can subconsciously react to any situation with swift and often deadly force. When he decides to use this, his whole body relaxes, his arms drop down to the side and his eyes (purple or not) get very dull. His reaction time drops dramatically, so he can react even faster than normal (and 'normal' would be his unparalleled speed). This 'mode' is extremely dangerous, meaning he will most likely kill his target if they cannot defend themselves. He will only use this when fighting an opponent that overpowers his conscious attacks and skills. ~He also possesses a mediocre two way telepathic link with his sister. ~His weapon, Nightingale, can be summoned by will. It appears as a long, black mist coming out of his hand. The mist subsides to reveal the staff. ~He has for wings that can also be summoned in a similar way. The mist extends from his back (whether he has something covering his back or not) and forms wings as black as the void. There are two lower wings (which are small) and two upper wings (which are larger). Every few seconds, the wings drop one feather each at the same time. The four feathers disintegrate before touching the ground. ~When Rain uses his staff and/or his wings, his irises become a faint purple and and the pupils become slits, to give a more frightening and deadly appearance. Fighting Style: Rain uses a sword technique called Battojutsu. The sword techniques he uses utilizes his speedy reflexes and agility to their fullest. Techniques: Dragon's Howl/Ryumeisen: This is a sword-technique opposite to the god-speed battojutsu: god-speed notojutsu (literally: god-speed sheathing). When the sword hilt connects with the sheath, the god-speed sheathing produces a sonic boom that temporarily stuns an opponent's auditory nerve, impairing their hearing and equilibrium. Dragon's Swift/Jinsoku-ryusen: A combination of vampyric speed and battojutsu. It is a draw-attack so fast, that there isn't a moment to feel pain. After the attack is over, it takes a few seconds for the opponent's body to show the results of the attack (The skin seems to part for itself). This attack, however is based on more speed than power, so it is very weak. Dragon's Earth Strike/Doryusen involves drawing the sword while it is almost parallel to the ground in front of the attacker. The air forced downward from the blade, which causes the ground to 'explode', sending rubble and dust everywhere. Dragon Hammer/Ryutsuisen: The "Dragon Hammer" is a sword-drop technique delivered from above, targeting the crown of the head or the shoulder of the adversary. The key to the technique lays in the height gained from the user’s jump and the free-fall, which is applied to the sword to multiply the force of the sword-stroke. Dragon Spiral/Ryukansen: The "Dragon Spiral" is a move which takes advantage of centripetal force to accelerate the draw of the blade while simultaneously avoiding the adversary's assault, shifting directly into a counterattack. Basically a spin to avoid the opponent's attack, and in the midst of the spin the sword is drawn. Dragon's Flight/Ryushosen: The "Dragon Flight" was originally a move meant to utilize the edge of the sword, cutting the adversary below while aiming for the jaw. The key to this technique lays in jumping power, utilizing it to its fullest. Dragon's Nest/Ryusosen: is a rapid-strike technique which deals a flurry of successive blows at god-like speed. Rain can even do this while moving. Six-Headed Dragon/Roku-ryusen: This technique is extremely fast and is almost impossible to block, but it can be dodged easily as it is extremely inaccurate. It can be blocked fully, however, in cases where a magic barrier is used. Rain uses his speed to the fullest and initiates an attack from all sides: ~Rising vertical attack from underneath ~Descending vertical attack from above ~Horizontal attack to the neck from the front ~Horizontal attack to the chest from the left ~Horizontal attack to the waist from the back ~Horizontal attack to the knees from the right He can use his hands, his staff, or either of the swords. Zorlo the Aura Master is the only person known to successfully block this attack. Dragon Flight ~ Nail/Kugi: 'The Nail' is a brutal variant of the 'Dragon Flight', where it uses the tip of the sword instead of the edge. Dragon's Nest Strike ~ Strangle/Garami: A variation of the normal 'Dragon's Nest', this technique targets the neck/head instead of the body. Nine-Headed Dragon/Kuzu-ryusen: The "Nine-Headed Dragon" is a formidable technique which utilizes Rain's god-speed to the fullest extent; dealing nine strikes to the most fundamental targets of swordsmanship (Head, shoulders, chest, arms, legs, below the belt), all at the same time. These points are the focus of the technique as they make up the basis of one’s guarding stance, regardless of style or weapon. So with this technique, attacking all nine all at once, guarding and dodging becomes virtually pointless. Dragon's Flight of Heaven/Amakakeru Ryu No Hirameki involves three stages. 1st strike: The basic Battojutsu stance is made with the right foot forward, left foot back, so when the draw is made, there is no danger of severing the left leg (as it's in the back, it's away from the blade). However, with this move, an extra step forward is made with the left foot in mid-draw, adding more force and speed to an already powerful and swift draw. The sheath of the sword also swings with the draw, adding more speed to it. The draw altogether is so fast that it is invisible to the naked eye. If this first strike is parried or blocked, the second stage begins.Dragon Hammer ~ Tragedy/Zan: The 'Tragedy' is a brutal variant of the 'Dragon Hammer'. It uses a sword plant to plunge the sword into the target, rather than a simple sword stroke. Other Techniques: Double Defense: When Rain is forced to up his defense, he holds the base of the blade of his katana, making it into a second kodachi which he can use to effectively block attacks, but not counter attack or attack outright. The handle of the katana becomes an extension to the 'shield', it can effectively block attacks like the blade can. Spinning Sword/Kaiten Kenbu: It involves Rain rapidly spinning around three times, while holding the kodachi backhand, to slash the opponent thrice in an instant. Spinning Sword Six Series/Kaiten Kenbu Rokuren: Can only be done when Rain is forced into 'Double Defense'. The attack involves Rain gripping his kodachi backhand, then slashing the opponent six times in rapid succession, from both sides (it relies on confusing the opponent on the direction from which each subsequent strike is going to come). It's basically 'Spinning Sword' but done with two kodachi. White Feather Catch/Shiraha Dori: A defensive technique where the enemy's sword is stopped by using the bare hands, no matter how hard it is swung. Reversing Cut/Modoshi Giri: The most skilled swordsmen using the best of blades are supposedly able to slice an object in two and rejoin the halves together, as if it were never cut at all. Appearance before the Ascension Current Appearance. Personality: Usually, Rain has a very 'happy-go-lucky' character. Mostly always with a small smile. He seems to be very oblivious and clumsy sometimes. If someone jokingly throws a punch or something else at him, he usually takes it, pretending to be surprised. But truth be told, even when he's like that, he's always observing and alert. When facing danger, you see a completely different person than you see normally. It seems like his whole personality changes, because he goes from being a sort of bumbling guy to an expert fighter, even though he usually has a small smile on his face to stop opponents from trying to read his emotions or thoughts. He's also usually quite the gentleman too, and has to literally force himself to hit a lady. Biography: Darkness reigned. Demons and angels walked the earth. The sun was almost never seen; it only seeped through the small crevices in the grey clouds. Chaos was prevalent, as the gates of hell were waiting to be opened. The angels could do nothing but stand by and watch destiny be fulfilled. In the midst of this dark age, lived a boy, Rain, seventeen years, and his sister, Raisha, of twenty three years. They protected each other, because they had no one to do it for them. Orphaned by past wars, the two had to find their own way to make ends meet. While Raisha spent her time ‘entertaining’ the men of the town, Rain helped around the households with works of construction. They put together whatever little they made to buy clothes and food. Their ‘home’ was an old, abandoned house, old and broken, from age and weather. One night, Raisha didn’t come back. Rain, fearing the worst, searched frantically around town for her. At the edge of the town, at the grey well, he saw a figure, clothed in a grayish white gown. The sleeves of the gown, along with her long, dark hair, rippled in the winds. She turned slightly, and saw Rain out of the corner of her eye, she started humming, and turned back, walking away slowly. Rain’s eyes widened. ”Raisha…?” He whispered He carefully walked up to her, and put his hand on her shoulder. She stopped humming, turned around, and stared straight into his eyes. Rain reached to touch her face under the pale moonlight. Her skin was still soft, and slightly cold. Rain’s thumb went under her bottom lip slightly. He jerked his hand away upon feeling a wet substance on her chin. He raised his thumb to the moonlight, the crimson liquid glowed. Blood. She had a blank, merciless stare. It remained unchanged, even after blood ran down her neck, staining her blouse. Rain’s eyes were trembling. ”Raisha… what… what happened?” A devilish grin spread across her face, baring her blood soaked fangs. Rain stumbled backwards as Raisha grabbed his shoulder and his hair, and pulled them apart, stretching his neck. Rain gritted his teeth and struggled, looking up at his sister. Her newfound strength was too much for him. She cleaned her fangs with her tongue, and bent her head over his neck. ”This is how you die.” The whispers came from all around, echoing and overlapping…. ”Rain…” ”Wake up…” ”Open your eyes- Rain…” “Wake up, open your eyes” ”WAKE UP, RAIN” Rain’s eyes snapped open; a length of his dark hair fell before his face. It wasn’t that long before… More importantly, where am I…? Blood stained the walls of the room he was in, even more blood seeped through cracks in the rock walls, slowly moving towards the ground. The room reeked of rotting flesh and blood. The smell of death. There was a tablet on the wall, with ancient characters. It was old and worn, he moved slowly towards it. His jacket moved with him, he stopped and looked upon himself. Where… did these clothes come from? … I wasn’t wearing this when Raisha… Raisha! He looked around and called out her name. Screaming her name at the top of his lungs. The whispers surrounded him once again. ”Stop…” ”Do you see…” ”… The tablet? Do you see?” ”Go over… walk over to it” ”Go over to it…” Rain heeded the words of the whispers, and moved over to the stone tablet. The whispers doubled in volume… ”Destiny… your” ”Your destiny… accept destiny” ”It’s yours… accept your destiny…” Rain couldn’t understand a thing, on the tablet. An ancient language, too ancient, beyond Rain’s current knowledge. He stepped back, and looked up at the ceiling, which was stained crimson. ”What is my destiny… I.. I don’t understand this. Where am I?!” A dark and heavy voice crept through the whispers. A shadow, floating in mid-air, crept around the boy, encircling him… ”It’s your destiny, Rain… it tells that you will be the one to kill the key keeper to hell.” ”Why would I want to kill him… or it…?” The shadow laughed. ”Did you not see what he did to your sister? Ah… the delicate and sweet Raisha, turned by the one Lord of the Vampires.” Rain grew angry, but still scared at his surroundings. ”Where is my sister?!” ”At his side,” the shadow responded, “where he wanted her.” Rain looked down for a second, and then looked at the shadow. ”… How do I kill him?” It laughed again. It explained that Rain wouldn’t have been able to kill him before, that’s why he’s here now. ”And where is here?” ”You’re in Hell.” Rain’s eyes widened, he looked around at the walls. This time they were changing, the walls were different, there were faces engraved on them, faces that showed expressions of pain and suffering, all stained crimson. The shadow cackled. ”Go back to your foolish Earth, kill the keeper with your new…. abilities, and bring me the key, otherwise, you spend your eternity here, in this room.” ”… Wait… why do you want the key to hell anyway? You live here!” ”DO NOT QUESTION MY MOTIVE, BOY! JUST DO IT!” Rain blinked. He was in front of huge castle doors, wooden and dark. He looked upward, the soft snow fell on his face, but he didn’t shiver. The doors creaked open on their own, cracking and moaning, as if they hadn’t been open for ages. The sight that greeted him, filled him with perplex confusion. A woman, grey gown, long black hair, almost pale complexion, running towards him. She called out his name. ”Rain!” She extended her arms and jumped into his. It can’t be…. he thought, Raisha…? She held him tight. ”How are you still alive? What happened to you?” Rain was utterly speechless. He felt her warm breath on his neck. ”Rain..? Where are the bite marks I gave you…?” His mouth opened, eyes widened. What had happened the night he died, it was real. Rain grabbed her neck, and slammed her up against one of the doors. He looked up at her, as she bared her fangs, and looked down on him, grinning. She snarled and writhed. Rain bared his fangs as she did hers, he was a vampire now, strong enough to bring down this ‘key keeper’. She grinned even more when she saw his fangs. ”So… you joined your sister in the vampire world!” Rain looked up at her, tears about to flow from his gold eyes. ”I’m stronger than any vampire…,” He gritted his teeth, “and you’re not my sister anymore.” He twisted his hand sideways, and broke her neck. Rain broke a piece of wood from the door and sent it through her heart. He lifted her up, and walked to the entrance of the main room with her. With his new strength, he flung her body through the doors, smashing them open. The Vampire Lord behind the doors leapt up, startled. Rain pounced on him, and drove a stake from the remains of the doors into the Vampire Lord’s heart. That was too easy… He looked down on his victim. Who was shaking as words escaped his mouth, he was… smiling. ”You fool,” He started, “I’ve been waiting for this day… when I would no longer be the key to hell… That’s right… you see the key, quivering before you… the person who destroys the key, becomes the key… the key allows the devil himself to walk the earth, he didn’t know I was actually the key!” He raised his eyebrows, smiling a little. Rain looked at him, and narrowed his eyes. ”Hahahaa…Demon from Heaven, Angel from Hell, now the king of Hell is after you… start running, boy…” *** The Ascension *** He doesn't know why... It was a stupid thing to do. A deal with with the Devil himself. A deal that would endanger the world as a result of just one possibly selfish act. One life for another. That was the bargain. It was only after the key had opened the locks, and the locks had open the gates, he realized what he had done. Six angels had broken the laws of Heaven to save his soul from being tossed into flames all because they had perfect reason. Alexiel. Rosiel. Sylver. Arinel. Orinth. Denya. All Archangels. All realized the mistake Rain had made and that he would want to make up for it. They had watched him all his life. Cried when he had cried, smiled when he had laughed. They knew him. And they knew that he had something to love, someone to protect. Rain was going to atone for his mistake even if it means thwarting death itself and at the same time, it would grant him time to be with the ones he loves, his sister included. The six broke the Covenant that was held up for centuries. They fused Rain's soul with that of a Grim Angel, transforming his body. He awoke in the place that he had died. His four black wings on his back, the swords in his hand. The majority of Lucifer's minions had escaped into the world. Since the key was used, the gates couldn't feed on it anymore, so they began to close. The key was useless now, even if he were to be used again. With one last look with purple eyes and a menacing grin behind him, he walked out through the gates just as they closed. This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this. The six angels that had helped him had been cast down to Earth, to live the rest of their eternity suffering along with the suffering. Rain is now an anomaly. He was supposed to be dead, but since death did not befall him at the appointed time, the Angel of Death now hunts him. Azrael, the only black winged angel put into service. Although reluctant because he knows that Rain closed the gates, he has no other choice. Every time he catches up to Rain, he comes close to overpowering him, but then, he begins to hold back, allowing Rain to defeat him. Rain sought out the six angels, hoping that they would know of ways to stop the demons that had escaped from hell. They knew of none, but they prompted him to find his sister, at which point they'll realize what they need to do. Together they would make a formidable, if not unbeatable team. Battles Mistaken Identities. Ramblings of a Bigoted Priest (Pre-Ascension) (Fin) Crossroads RPs ~ Fiction Into the Black (Approved by Safer) Raisha Seraph The new breed of Reaper Pre-Rain's Ascension After Rain's Ascension: Full Name: Raisha Seraph Also Known As: Hell’s Bride, Bloodwing angel, Ai, Rai, Aisha. (Goes by Aisha or Ai most of the time) Age: Sometime after her first century, she stopped counting. Although her appearance gives off the illusion that she looks twenty-three-ish, for the most. She is a few years older than Rain. Race: Vizard The awakening of her Shinigami (Soul Reaper/Death God, who have the power to guide spirits to the afterlife) and Hollow (Masked demon that eats souls to sustain itself and grow stronger) sides almost simultaneously during the events of Master of the Forge forced this transformation. There are several theories on how the transformation came about, including theories by the Gods (Kurenkento, Elune) and Raisha’s Inner Hollow itself (which resembles a silver-clawed black panther with three long tails). A Vizard is a Shinigami that has gained Hollow powers and mask (which can be donned willfully by a process called ‘horo-ki’ or ‘Hollowification). Vizards are the anti-thesis of Arrancars (born when a Hollow removes its mask and gains Shinigami powers) and are not to be confused with them. Sex: Female. Hair: Gold as her eyes and loose. Its length reaches just past her shoulders. Eyes: Gold, as her hair, attributed with a soulless gaze. Weight: Due to the nature of her soul, she can alter her weight at will. She usually keeps it at one normal level (between 110lbs and 125lbs). She can also become as light as a feather. Crossing chasms was never this easy, folks! Height: 5 feet 9 inches. Weapons: During her life as a Reaper, Raisha had unknowingly wielded a zanpakuto (Soul Slayer, a weapon of a Shinigami). She learnt its name during the events of Master of the Forge, which eventually made her master the weapon’s Shikai (Initial Release) and finally, its Bankai (Final Release). Isis is the zanpakuto’s name (Egyptian Mythology: Isis was the Goddess Queen of the Underworld). The spirit of Isis resembles a young, black-haired woman in light, silk clothing. Appearance of Isis’s spirit. In its sealed state, Isis resembles a ‘tanto’, a short Japanese knife about 1 foot long. It is kept strapped horizontally to Raisha’s back at her waist with the black handle always at her right side, so she draws it inversely. Shikai/Initial Release: Release command: “To the ends of the Earth, Isis.” Isis transforms into something that can only be called a ‘gunblade’. It can be used as a long sword or it can transform swiftly into a gun at will. The gun fires bullets made of spiritual power. Appearance 1: Blade Appearance 2: Transforming Appearance 3: Gun Bankai/Final Release: ‘White Reaper of the Black Twin Rose’ Isis’s personality (generous and caring) allowed Raisha to achieve her Bankai soon after achieving her Shikai. When Bankai is unleashed, Raisha dons clothes similar to that of the Grim Reaper, although the colours are inverted, so the whole suit is white with black lining. The tail of her coat is elongated and jagged at the end; it extends to almost twice her length and flows out behind her, dragging on the ground. There is also a hood that obscures the top half of her face (so usually only her lips and some of her hair that frames her face are seen). The Bankai has few ‘stages’. Stage 1: Isis is split in two at this point; one half becomes a long, black sword with a blue edge and a handguard designed like a rose. This is wielded in her right hand. In her left palm, the design of another black rose appears with petals around her wrist as well. This acts as an ultimate shield, able to block powerful attacks with ease, and sometimes even absorb the spiritual power of an attack to convert it to energy to keep the Bankai going. Her usual speed is increased greatly, to that of ‘beyond Godspeed’. She is able to imitate Rain’s Kuzu-ryusen/Nine-headed Dragon flawlessly while attacking with it from four different directions at once. Her strength also gains a massive increase, to a point where slamming her fist against the ground creates a massive crater. Stage 2: ‘Tenken/Heavenly Sword/Heaven’s Punishment’. Massive swords fall from the sky (resembling falling stars or comets) to where she wants them to fall (usually on the opponent) the fallen swords can act as a tall cage or as protection (when she commands them to fall to encircle the target). The swords can also act in a ‘connect the dots’ fashion to form certain types of ‘seals’. However, Isis allowed Raisha to only learn one and left the others for her to figure out herself. ~ Heaven Seal – When the swords fall in that formation and the spiritual energy flows through them, it can seal away the angelic, light or holy power of anyone within the seal (aside from the user). Beings will not be able to use any of the above mentioned powers and all beings that are able to fly are grounded (even birds) until the seal is lifted. Raisha can still attack normally while using this stage. Only one seal can be used at a time. Stage 3: “And The Gods Will Kneel” Raisha begins absorbing the spiritual particles she used during the second stage of her bankai (so the more swords she called, the more particles she pulls in, the stronger this last stage will be) and combines it with her own, compressing them both into a massive, black scythe. The scythe extends from the handle of the sword with the sword’s blade still intact and the scythe’s blade at the opposite end. She can wield the scythe expertly, but needs both hands to do so. The rose petals on her left palm that acted as her shield move to her back. The rose petals then act as a ‘counter’, they begin disappearing one by one when the scythe is out for a certain amount of time. When the last one disappears, Raisha is forced to unleash the massive buildup of spiritual power. Raisha can unleash this at any time during the third stage, but only once, then Isis reverts to its sealed form. The release of immensely pressured, white spiritual power is immeasurably destructive, capable of leveling a massive mountain or more. The number of petals on her back depends on the amount of spiritual particles she absorbed. The more spiritual particles, the less petals. When she has the Vizard mask on, the blast is mostly white, but filled with black lightning bolts or sparks and its destructive power is increased tenfold. Armour: None. Strengths: She can cross chasms (by ‘walking on air’ because of her altered weight) and traps that are set off by weight become void. Aisha is also bloodless, (hence her pale outward appearance) She can be cut, bruised, or beaten to near death, but she won’t suffer from blood loss. Her looks and near emotionless-ness grant her the power of deception. When wounded with normal weapons, she can heal almost instantly. Her speed, due to her altering weight, can also rival that of Rain’s. She doesn’t need to eat or sleep, but finds comfort in doing so. She has realized that her altering weight can acrobatically enhance her movements, thus making her harder to hit and making her perform even more impossible feats such as running across or up walls. She has heightened observational skills and her memory is eidetic. Being a Vizard greatly enhances both her strength and speed, especially when she puts on the mask. Weaknesses: Holy weapons and magic form her main weaknesses; just a touch alone will cause a burn with such intensity, that she might have to retreat from the battle in order to heal. Wounds from these weapons and magic take much more energy and time to heal. Healing normal wounds also take a little time, and no energy. If she is beaten relentlessly, she won’t have time to heal. Also, if she is caught off-guard by the wind while casually moving around while she’s feather-weight, she can -literally- be blown away. Magic/Skills: Reiatsu/Spiritual Power/Spiritual Pressure: Almost every being has Reiatsu, although those beings that are not ‘attuned’ to the spiritual will have only a little and will be unable to use it. Reiatsu can be sensed and pinpointed to a particular person or thing; it can also be controlled, used like an energy source, or used in different attacks or defenses, or even to heal. When using a large amount of Reiatsu, it can be seen. Her Reiatsu is mainly white/light blue. However, when she dons the mask, her Reiatsu changes to a mix of her own and a Hollow’s; in this case the colour mix turns to black/red. Also, when the mask is on, it increases her Reiatsu power and output almost tenfold. Raisha can now harness and control the massive amount of spiritual power that she has absorbed over the years; she appears to have exert almost complete control over it, able to use it in various ways (similar to that of Zorlo’s Aura, however, the two are completely different) such as being able to create a miniature hurricane that spun in the opposite direction to Zorlo’s move of the same name. Her spiritual pressure is so powerful that if she chooses to go full power and release all of it, inanimate objects (with no spiritual pressure or resistance) around her can pushed back or lifted up. She can implement the power in various ways:
She can also use Reiatsu to imitate certain moves that requires a shot of power, or something similar. For example, she can imitate Zorlo’s ‘Aura Getsuga’ by using her own spiritual power in place of Aura. Horo-ki/Hollowification: By moving her hand across her face, she can don her Vizard mask. It vastly augments her strength, stamina, speed and Reiatsu, increasing them greatly, to a point where she is able to surpass Rain’s Godspeed (this is without her Bankai). When she dons the mask, she also gains the powers of a Hollow, but can only have the mask on for a minute or so at a time before the mask shatters and she’s drained:
The Harvest: (Magic: Mysticism | Absorption) This one is fairly basic, and most used. When she kills someone, just before they die, their soul is extracted and absorbed. She just needs to put her palm facing the victim, and will the soul to come forth. The victim dies instantly afterwards. She still uses this to this day, but very rarely and mostly on criminals who get on her bad side. Hemorrhage: (Magic: Illusion) This is a weak spell, which only lasts a little less than a minute. The person she uses it on will see himself or herself in Aisha’s place. So it’ll be much like the victim is looking into a mirror. The only difference is that the ‘reflection’ is battered, bruised, and bleeding all over. Remember, it’s all an illusion. Bloodwing: (Magic: Destruction) A more powerful spell than the previous two. Her hands must be totally free, meaning she can’t be holding anything.. She puts both of her palms outwards, facing the victim, and emits a blast of heat that blows the opponent and everything surrounding him backwards. The way Aisha positions her hands (wrist against wrist, with palms facing the victim, fingers not touching each other) and the crimson colour of the blast as soon as it is released from her hands gives the spell its name. Soul Seeker: (Magic: Alteration) A magic spell of a Soul Reaper. This changes Aisha’s vision and makes her almost completely blind. The only things she’ll see are the silhouette of creatures and humans who have souls. If the creature is at full health, the silhouette is faint. If the creature is near death, the silhouette glimmers brightly (signifying that the soul is ready to be let out after the body perishes). Her vision is not affected by obstacles such as walls or doors, she only sees the silhouettes of the people behind them, so she can tell how much people are behind a wall or other obstacle. Bricks and Feather: (Magic: Alteration) This spell can be used any time, any where. She alters her weight with this. Her weight can go from being as heavy as a ton of bricks, or as light as a feather. Sky Stride: (Skill) One of her most visually impressive techniques. She jumps and when she reaches her maximum height from the ground, she uses the fact that her jump has exactly canceled gravity, giving her a split second to make a second jump. Thus, this makes her appear as if she is walking in the air. This, coupled with her ability to manipulate her weight, can make her go up to an impressive height. This technique can be coupled with her imitation of Rain's 'Ryutsuisen' can make her attack devastating, although it will take longer to execute (because of the height that she'll free-fall from) Shifting Mirror: (Skill) Aisha can copy her opponent’s every move, once she’s seen them before. For example, if she sees someone handling a sword exceptionally well, she can mimic their every move, and use it on anyone. The different moves and techniques that she observes remains in her memory, and can be used on others. Aisha cannot copy magical abilities. This ability has evolved slightly: Rai can now *imitate* the physical movement of someone that she sees. For example, she can imitate Rain's Shinsoku/Godspeed because she has seen it. However, because it's only an *imitation* it can't measure up to the real thing, therefore, she will still be slower than her brother. She also possesses a mediocre two-way telepathic link with her brother. Fighting Styles: Her fighting style is a mixture of capoiera and break dancing. Her movements are swift and erratic, making her hard to hit and her attacks hard to block or parry since her movements are simply unpredictable. This style of fighting does not work in small areas. She is also skilled in gun-kata, where her observational skills and perfect memory comes into play. Appearance before Rain's 'death'. (Hellfire sword included) Present Appearance Vizard Mask Raisha’s Hollow Form Personality: Ai now shows near full human emotion, contradicting her old ways. She once thought it impossible. Now, she can cry or smile with no strings attached. Since Celestia feeds off her emotions, one cannot say that she has fully human emotions simply because she cannot display excessive anger, lust, sadness or fear. But she can display joy and love. Aisha is basically calm and sort of 'laid back'. She regrets her old life and refuses to recall it, but she still does. She remembers everything. If not for the dagger in her possession, she would have broken down a long time ago. Aisha can also be said to have a condition called Hyperthymesia, although she does not display the first of the two distinct characteristics of it. Themesong(s): YouTube - Joan Jett - Bad Reputation Biography: She remembered it all. Rain’s hand against her neck. The strength he held in his fingers as her neck twisted out of place before it snapped. But even then she was still alive, she felt everything. Pain and suffering caused by her fatal injury as well as the suffering of her infuriated heartbeat. How she wished that it would just stop, that it would all stop. Then she felt it. Something sharp against her chest, and suddenly, it ripped through her skin, rupturing veins and grating its way to her heart. And then… it all stopped. Even as her eyelids struggled to remain open, she saw the darkness cloud her eyesight. Tension in her muscles ceased, her hand fell lifeless to the floor, touching the cold sanguine liquid that flowed from her heart. She remembered everything. Aisha closed her eyes as she remembered the sickening crackle of the bones in her neck as they snapped back into place. She ran her now ghostly pale hand up her once flowing white dress, up to the gaping tear in it. Her fingers touched her skin there, feeling no mark of a wooden stake being there at all. The only evidence that remained were her ruddy dress, and the stake soaked in blood, her blood, lying on the red-stained ground. Her bare feet shuffled through the rubble, barely lifting off the ground. For now, all that she could think about was the moment when her brother drove the stake through her heart. Her mind felt shattered, it descended into total turmoil. Aisha denied the memory all she could, but it kept coming back to her. She felt blinded somehow, and her feelings overshadowed her eyes. Her eyes saw nothing but black now, she unconsciously quickened her pace. Her walk broke into a run. She stumbled over stones and twigs in her path, she could not see them. Her feet and toes blistered and bruised, Aisha fell over out of exhaustion, bruising her knees when she did. Her confusion was increased further when her wounds tingled as they healed. Her breathing increased, but the associated increase of the speed of her heartbeat was not felt. Aisha’s hand found its way over her chest, but there was no vibrating of her chest. It only rose and fell as breaths were inhaled and exhaled. She turned abruptly. A faint glimmer had caught her eyes. Aisha held her breath as the glimmering silhouette seemed to turn towards her. The crackling of twigs and grating of stones met her ears as the silhouette moved slowly towards her. The creature in the darkness leaned over her, inspecting her with its hidden eyes. Aisha propelled herself back slightly with her arms and feet. It followed her movements, and suddenly, she felt something warm touch her waist gently Get away from me. She gritted her teeth as her hands pushed outward, attempting to knock back her assailant. She succeeded, but much more than she had expected. Her hands emitted a simmering burst of air, throwing the silhouette backwards. In the midst of this, she saw the darkness fading away. Like a squid’s ink in water, the black clouds rolled off her eyes, almost blinding her with daylight. Aisha’s eyes adjusted to the light as they searched around her. Sight fell upon what -or rather, who- the silhouette was. Standing up, Aisha put out her hand, and moved slowly towards the body of a boy. He seemed to be no older than sixteen, dressed in rags, a short steel sword gripped tightly by his fingers. She stopped. Something warm pressed against the palm of her outstretched hand. A warm breeze filled her body and surrounded her. Her eyes closed as she inhaled it, and it felt as if the warmness fused with her own fragmented soul. Unconsciously, her tongue stretched outwards and caressed her lips, making them slightly moist. Her first taste of a soul. Ai bent over, and uncurled the boy’s fingers from around the hilt of his sword. She had no idea what it was she did, or why she did it. But she craved more. Blinded by this new and odd craving, Aisha sifted through the brush until she found a path through the trees that might take her somewhere. As she prodded along the path, she did so without aim, without any sort of motivation. Life left her eyes, the gold in them became dull. Aisha had unknowingly embraced her new life. A new, meaningless, soulless life. A sudden clanking of steel in the distance attracted her attention. Lifting her dress slightly so her movements would not be hindered, she went swiftly and silently towards the source of the clashing. Ai stumbled upon a small encampment. There was a fire, and three teenagers sitting around it, one was a girl who held a folded, dark cloth to her chest tightly. There were two boys behind them; both held swords in their hands, practicing their swordplay. One boy’s sword caught her eye, it wasn’t dull and small like the other one, but large and ruddy, with a tint of gold wherever the light reflected off of it. He swung it around with ease as the other one parried, twirling his sword and attacking when the opening of opportunity presented itself. All were dressed in familiar rags, save for the girl’s boots, which were dark, like the folded cloth, but shiny. Aisha hid nearby and observed their movements intently, but her attention was taken from them when a boy that sat near the fire began to speak. "Hehe, Kati," He chuckled, talking to the girl, "Do you like the dress and boots we stole for you?" Kati nodded with a small smile, "Mmhm!" "Happy birthday, Kati." "Thank you... very much." She responded softly, nodding and smiling ever so slightly. Their celebration was interrupted by the slow movement of footsteps near them. The sitting boys shot up and drew their swords hastily, the girl being left to sit back and watch. The two boys who were practicing went behind the intruder, while the two who were at the fire stood at the front. Aisha was not moved by their enclosure, instead, she kept staring straight ahead. They seemed to be intimidated by her. Intimidated by the sword in her hand, by her bloody dress, her silence, her dead stare. Finally, one of them took the initiative and stuttered to her. "L..Look lady, if you don’t leave now, we-… we’ll have to kill you!" Ai remembered what she felt when she was on the ground, clasping her chest. She gritted her teeth slightly, tilting her lips a little. Her eyes still holding a vacant gaze, she twirled the sword in her hand, just like how the boy twirled his when he was practicing. "I’m already dead." Gravel grated rhythmically underfoot as one of the boys rushed in from the left. He held his steel sword upright, yelling something short of a war cry. Aisha turned to him, and blocked each of his attacks, imitating the technique that she had observed before. Uttering a cry of surprise at her knowledge of his attacks, he left himself open for a few full seconds. Another cry escaped his lips, but it ended abruptly as Ai’s sword went deeper into his skull. Letting go of the hilt, Aisha put her palm towards the falling boy and touched her lips with her tongue, expecting to feel what she had felt before. The boy’s feet lifted off the ground as his soul was pulled from the body. The soul extracted, Ai wrapped her fingers around the handle of the sword which she had just sent through the boy’s skull. A sickening grating sound of bone and steel echoed slightly as the sword was ripped from his head. Kati shrieked at the gory sight as she backed away slowly from the group. This time, Ai swung to her right, clashing blades with the decorated sword. "Think you can withstand Hellfire?" The boy grunted through gritted teeth. Her sword began to crack as he pressed down on her makeshift shield. In a last effort, she swung horizontally, breaking both the boy’s pressing attack and her steel blade in one swift, strong movement. Ai put her hand to the side, as she stared straight ahead, seemingly over the boy who stumbled backwards. Her fingers relaxed, allowing the broken sword to fall noisily near her feet. The fresh stench of blood seemed to thicken the air. It filled nostrils and throats, choking those who breathed it in slightly. Ai didn’t move a muscle, subtly waiting to be attacked. "Come into my parlor." Said the spider to the fly. The remaining three boys remained a good distance away. It never did dawn on them that running would be a grand idea right now. Kati, huddled near the fire, shifted uneasily, crushing some dried leaves while she did. The silence broke, and the boys’ attention shifted to the slight noise. Aisha quickly put her wrists together, and faced her palms toward the boy who had just attacked her. He flew backwards, releasing his sword in the process. Ai bent her knees as her hand picked up her new sword with the greatest of ease. The tip of it scraped against the ground, and made a distinct continuing ping as it left the dirt. The boy who had first held that blade was unconscious. She would deal with him later. Ai started towards Kati, with a quicker, more normal pace than she had used before. The remaining two boys attempted to block her path and protect the girl. They huddled together in front of her, both their swords upright, facing her, both shaking severely from fear. Ai swung the sword upward fiercely and abruptly, severing one boy’s wrists. Both screamed as her attack continued horizontally, causing both screams to end swiftly. Aisha turned her attention towards the young girl, Kati, whose eyes were bulging from fright. She sweated uncontrollably, the fire she was near to didn’t seem to help her in any way. As Aisha began to advance slowly, Kati began to plead. "Please, miss! I’m an orphan, it’s my birthday, please don’t kill me, I don’t want to die..." At this point, tears began to flow. Kati’s hands trembled as she struggled to wipe them away. Her scream began to rise in volume, but it was forcefully cut short. Days became weeks. Weeks became months. Distance treaded turned into miles. Various techniques and her own abilities mastered, Ai found herself walking from town to town. Her craving became a dying flame, she harvested what she needed more smartly now, and not in a blind hunger-driven rampage as before. She still killed, sometimes it was anyone she came across. Men, women and children. None of them were spared. She cut down the authorities when they dared to confront her about her misdeeds. Guilt and regret were never felt. Ai became near emotionless. She felt no heart in her. She would have never guessed what would happen on a fated day. The sun began to set as Ai stood at the centre of a dusty town. Her sword sheathed across her back, and her eyes still dull and lifeless. No one dared to look straight into her eyes, to be honest, the townspeople were intimidated by her. Ai set her eyes for her vision to descend into darkness. The silhouette’s of the townspeople flitted by, most of them faint, some of them ready to gleam. But there was one, just one, which was exceptionally faint. The glimmer of the silhouette was even less than a perfectly healthy newborn. Ai tilted her head slightly at this one. She blinked, forcing her sight back to normality. Ai suddenly rushed forward, her lips slightly apart, and her eyes moist with tears. She wrapped her arms around the person from behind, and buried her face in his back, crying. "Rain…" She cried. Rain’s eyes widened, her voice in his ear. He turned his face to look at the girl who held him. "Raisha…? Is it you…?" She released him from her grasp, and looked up into his eyes, wiping her face and nodding to answer the question. "I missed you…" She sighed through parted lips. "Oh, Rai…" "I’ll kill you!" Ai screamed, hastily drawing her sword and swinging it viciously at him. Her eyes closed, her eyelids pushed out tears which fell like stars unto the dust. This was it. Her mind descended into total chaos, one half of her cried uncontrollably while the other viciously tried to unleash it’s rage. Rain was caught in her sudden flurry of attacks, he felt the sword slice cleanly into his shoulder. If he hadn’t jumped back when he did, his arm would’ve been severed completely. He held his wound tightly as he landed, too surprised to speak. Aisha looked at him, crying afresh, she gritted her teeth. Her wrists together, and her fingers apart, she spoke softly. "I’m sorry…" She closed her eyes as the heat exploded from her hands, sending Rain backwards harshly. Her tears were left behind when she turned and ran. She kept running till she collapsed. Ai remained on the ground for a little while, her eyes closed as she concentrated on dismissing each and every thought of her brother. She sat up, on the verge of succeeding in her mental battle, she wiped her eyes gently. "Miss!" Her thoughts interrupted by a strange voice. She turned to face a middle-aged woman, finely dressed in expensive clothes. "Miss. Where did you get that dress? I was robbed of a dress similar to this one while buying it. I paid good money for it." Aisha stood up, looking away from the person slightly. Her eyes were no longer shining, their dull state had returned. "Miss, are you listening to me?! That dress is mine." "Oh, I’m sorry. You won’t be needing it." Ai’s hand clasped her sword’s hilt. The smooth sound of Hellfire scraping against its sheath filled her ear as it was slowly drawn. *** The Ascension *** She felt it. Like a stab to her throat. It seared her heart. She felt her brother's heart stop beating. The gates of Hell had opened at the cost of her brother's life. And there was war. Not physically, with sword and shield, but a mental battle within her. Aisha almost completely lost her sanity, the two opposing sides within her were now fighting for absolute power. The one that wanted revenge fought the side that wanted her to make peace. The immense pressure on her mind caused her to lash out at anyone and anything violently. Her sword at that time, had the power to sense and react to her current feelings, it screeched and vibrated at each of her swings until the blade eventually shattered before her eyes. Her focus unknowingly shifted to her broken sword. Ai knelt and began picking up the pieces that were big enough to hold, placing them on the red cape of the last life she had claimed. The last innocent she will ever kill. Aisha carried the shards of the sword wherever she wandered. She wandered mindlessly, her cheeks almost always wet with tears. Aisha had folded the cape over the shards and had never stopped to open it after she first placed the pieces. After weeks of wandering, she eventually realized that her mind became calm a while after her sword broke. For the first time in centuries, she honestly smiled, dropping the red bundle in her arms. When it hit the ground, Aisha's ears only received one 'clank', and not a 'jingle' which it should have been. She carefully opened the red cape and beheld a glowing dagger, which sparkled like the stars until it was in her fingers. Aisha immediately felt bound to it. She picked up the cape, the dust of her old sword glittering as it endlessly fell from the material. Even to this day, the red, glittering dust falls from the cape that she wears on her left shoulder. Her mind settled, she ventures off into a new world, seeing through different eyes. Re: Insaney's Sane Characters
Arina
Sky's the limit. Name: Arina Age: 18 Race: Aeoleansauria, Sauria for short. (An immortal, hidden race of magical people who has the power to turn into birds, each person can turn into only one bird that is unique to them. For example; Arina can only transform into a white falcon) Gender: Female Eyes: Light purple Hair: Very long and light purple Height: 5 feet, 3 inches . Weight: 109 lbs Weapons: None Armor: None Strengths: (Human form) She is light, so she can jump very high and far, and run very fast, also, for some reason, she was born with a unique white glow, which can help light her way a little when traveling under the cover of night. After the accident which made her left eye permanently blind, she's practiced fighting. Basing her moves around powerful kicks instead of punches because of the lack of reliable depth perception. She has become quick on her feet and can use her wings to effectively help airborne attacks. (Falcon form) She can fly, and her falcon form also emits the white glow. Also her eyesight is extremely sharp. Weaknesses: In both her falcon and human forms, her bones are lightweight. Which means they can break easily, and she is easier to throw around. The white glow makes people think she is some sort of demon, she can also be easier spotted because of this. Her punches are useless since they usually fall short, her only method of fighting is her footwork. Since her left eye is blind, her reaction time on the left is slower, but she uses intuition to tell if something's coming. Magic/Skills: Arina can use her wings (even in human form, she can stop the transformation midway.) to cause a blast of wind that pushes her attackers a little way back. She can also heal when she changes from human to bird. If she's injured as a human, she can heal herself by changing into her second form and vice versa. Telepathy: She has developed her telepathy in such a way that she can communicate while in falcon form as well as human form with anyone. She can read minds quite well, too. Telekinesis: Her telepathy has evolved in a way so that her mind is strong enough to manipulate nearby objects, able to lift a group (fifteen or so) of people at once and throw them across the length of a football field. Although the ability is mediocre in strength, she has been known to rarely execute short bursts of extremely powerful telekinetic blasts on the molecular level which can practically alter or destroy the molecular structure of an object. Fighting Style: She can't rely on punches, no matter how much she tries. Her one eye judges distances wrongly. Because of the lack of reliable depth perception, her style is based on quick movements and powerful kicks. When she kicks, she doesn't sacrifice speed for power or vice versa. Her attacks are precise, swift and powerful. She uses her right eye to see whats on her right, therefore she reacts faster on the right side. Intuition is used when dodging an attack from the left, since she can't see and her reaction time is slower. She's honed her skills to a point where if someone offends her badly, she would instinctively fire a vertical kick instead of slapping them. Appearance (She claims the glasses relaxes her right eye because relying too much on it causes it to hurt) Personality: Arina is a quiet person. She never talks to anyone she doesn’t know. If she does, it’s very few words. She is humble but not easily hurt emotionally. After various encounters with the odds she had to overcome, her personality has 'bloomed'. Although she isn't very strong physically, she's not afraid anymore to try to pack a whallop when fighting an opponent. Although slightly insecure when fighting someone on the ground, she has almost become a master of the skies, allowing her to become a little overconfident when she is up there. Her personality, however, still retains that 'cute' aspect of it. She smiles a tiny bit more, but still giggles softly. Themesongs: U2 - "Elevation" Bush - "Comedown" Foo Fighters - "Learn To Fly" Character Biography: Even from the time she was born, her parents knew that Arina was unique. Her glow was present even when she was first put to sleep by her parents. Her father was nervous about it, wondering what would happen if anyone else would find out about his daughter’s eerie glow. Her mother thought the glow to mean something special, her father thought the glow to be weird. Arina was an only child. She used to watch, on evenings after her lessons, her mother turn into a falcon and fly off to somewhere unknown to the girl. Her father could have turned into an eagle, but he was too lazy to do anything other than sit around the house all day. The aeoleansaurian race lived in the valleys of a small island, not far from the land of Taraine. It was tradition, that when a teenage aeoleansaurian reached the age of seventeen, they would turn into their bird for the first time during a small village festival. It was also tradition, that if the teenager did not turn into their bird form on the same night of the festival, the teen would be exiled from the village, never to return. By and by, time passed. Arina had bloomed into a beautiful young teenager. Her father never let her go out at night, for fear of someone finding out about her glow. But, he knew, in the back of his mind, that his efforts were futile. Arina was coming of age, and the night of her seventeenth birthday would be her unveiling. His brow creased from worry, his hair grayed. His wife constantly asked him what was the matter, but he never responded. Arina herself was never bothered about her glow, it was something that she had all her life, it just became a figure in the corner of her eye, and given some more time, it faded completely from her mind. It all came too soon. The night of her seventeenth birthday was upon her. Arina’s father started to panic. He covered his daughter in as much dark clothing as possible, but, this night was different, she glowed brighter than ever before. It shone through her clothes. The time had come, the festival was ending, a proud mother and a worried father watched as the door opened on the house and Arina strode outside. There was a silent sigh of relief from her father as the torches cancelled out the glow. The mayor of the village was met with all smiles. Arina was shaking in her boots. Her clothes muffled the sound of her knees knocking together. Can I really pull this off? , she thought, Can I really turn into a bird? The music of the festival tore through the air. And it echoed along with the mayor’s shout. “Stop!” The music ended, Arina stood in the middle of the festial, nervous and shaking. “Arina, of the Aeoleansauria, now is your time to spread your wings, and feel the wind beneath them…” Arina closed her eyes, and concentrated. Her eyes were shut tight, she shut the sound of the mumbling crowd out. She stood there, concentrating for a while. The mumbles of the crowd grew stronger. “I… I can’t,” She sighed, finally, “I can’t change…” “Then the sentence is passed, you are hereby exiled from your homeland.” Her mother shot up, the crowd gasped. Arina’s tears met the ground. She cried, the crowd started to disperse, those who seemed to be sad shook there heads and moved on. Those who were jealous of her beauty and personality cackled like the witches they were. Her parents watched her silently, sadly. Her cries grew in pitch. The wail grew louder and sharper, cutting through the dispersing crowd and directing their attention back to her. Bright white feathers fluttered through the air. Her wings spread straight out, touching the houses on both sides, her wingspan was larger than her mother’s. And not only that, her wings glowed furiously, unleashing the brightness upon the people who had rejected her when she couldn’t change earlier. Her wings beat against the ground, raising clouds of dust and pushing herself upwards, into the air. She had changed into her falcon form, a brilliant, glowing white. She kept wailing, she knew the mayor’s judgment was final. Her wings beat furiously, propelling her away from the village, her parents, and her home. She flew all night, over the oceans. Her purple falcon’s eyes were filled to the brim with tears. She finally flew over land, she descended. When she landed she turned back into her human form, and continued her crying. It was dawn when she had landed, and, she did not see where, or who she was landing in front of. “Crying ill suits a girl of such beauty,” She heard someone say, it was a calm voice. “Wha..?” She sniffed, wiping her eyes, she looked up at the figure. He was handsome, wearing a suit of black, with a red cape pulled to the side, his sword was sheathed, he was smiling encouragingly. “Miss…?” the young man asked, “You know, you shouldn’t be out here alone, there are thieves and murderers about.” Her eyes widened, she immediately thought this man was a threat. She kept silent, still sitting there. “Well,” the young man started, “since you don’t want to move, I’ll stay here, in case anything happens.” He put his bow and sword down, and sat down with his back against a tree. “My name, mistress, is Raven.” He said, “and what might be yours? But, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.” Arina pulled her legs up, and put her knees to her chest, and rested her chin between them. “A…Arina” She said softly. “A beautiful name,” Raven responded, “you also have an amazing power too….” She was taken by surprise. “What?... You… you saw… me….” “Yes, I did. I’ll tell you what, I’m not surprised, I’ve seen worse.” Arina lowered her eyes. She felt something different about this stranger, she felt that he would understand. She relayed her story. “So you were exiled?” Raven asked, she nodded. “Mm-hmm…” “And you’ll be by yourself…” “Yeah…” “Then come with me.” “What? But… but…” “Listen, you can’t travel by yourself, and you have no where to go, so come with me, I’ll protect you, and you’ll lend me your company.” He smiled. Arina, was surprised, she knew she couldn’t travel by herself, and she really did have no where to go. She accepted Raven’s offer. She also knew that she may be able to escape him, if he tries anything. But her last thought was in vain. She had grown fond of her new friend. Both Raven and Arina shared adventures and run-ins with troubles together. Her adventurous spirit was awakened. *** Arina was kidnapped by a group of ruffians. Since she could not concentrate to use her telekinesis, she was not able to fight back. When they attempted to violate her, she reacted, causing one of the men to stab her in her left eye. Raven had reached when she was bleeding to death, the men had left because they didn't want something like this to happen, they just wanted some 'fun'. Raven, seeing her in this state, was willing to give up anything for her to live. He used Alchemy on her to save her, bringing back her eye and healing the wound, but not making her able to see through that eye again. In the process, he gave up the sight in his right eye to heal hers. -Court of Taraine Rank and Title- Arina: Title: Feder Magier (Literally: 'Feather Magician') Courtrank: Airborne Mage Battles: The Weaker they are, the longer the fight. o.O (Complete) Crossroads RPs: Halloween Night: Trick or Threat (Approved by Gracie) Jessica Seraphim Black Lady of Eyes Name: Jessica Seraphim Black. Answers to: Jessi, Jess or Sera. Stage name: Lady Eyes. Occupation: Traveling magician Age: Unknown. Birthday is March 16th, however. Race: Class S Vampire. (Regarded as the most powerful of vampire ranks, and having at least one very unique ability and/or weakness). Lower class vampires, if they get a whiff of a Class S vampire’s scent, usually stay away. However, Jessi doesn’t mind if they try to communicate with her or not. Sex: Female. Hair: Short, a little longer than chin length. Shiny black with a large, dark red streak in the middle of her forehead. The ends of her hair or more silver than black. Eyes: Silvery Weight: 123lbs Height: Little over 5 feet. Weapon: A knife that’s as long as her forearm. There is no handguard, so the handle flows directly to the blade. The handle is wrapped with a thin but strong, black, long rubber-like cord with the end attached to the tip. With this, she can use it like a mid-ranged weapon or whip, able to pierce or wrap around objects from far away. The blade is made of pure silver and is narrower than a katana, and has a special sheath that is kept behind her, under her jacket and held to her body with the belt around her waist. She can also extend each of her nails using the proteins and iron in her blood. Each talon is about a foot long and razor sharp. Using these, she can inject a liquid that had entered into her bloodstream just before into an object or person. (For example, if she drinks poison, she can inject it into someone or something before it starts to take effect, curing her instantly). Because of this, the silver (that acts somewhat like a poison) can be removed from her system without it causing any harm. If they are broken, they can be instantly re-grown at will. Strengths: Stronger and faster than your average vampire. Her every movement appears as a quick blur. So far, the only people who are faster than her, would be Rain and his sister, Raisha. Because of the ability to extend her nails and inject substances from her own body into other beings or objects, silver does not affect her, or any other poison for that matter. She can also walk out in the sunlight as much as she pleases, he genetics having been altered by drinking Rain’s blood long ago. Also, she is a master illusionist, able to manipulate most peoples’ senses to her advantage, or for her amusement. She doesn’t drink blood anymore, because of Rain’s blood. Because she’s a vampire, she is also nocturnal. Weakness: Crucifixes and holy water can cause severe burns. Even though she learnt how to fight from Rain, she prefers not to take a forward approach, and uses illusion to make sneak attacks, which won’t work against other magicians or illusionists, or people with clear minds and future-sight. Since she doesn’t usually change how she looks when on and off the stage, she can be easily recognized and targeted. Skills/Magic: Other than normal vampyric abilities (defying gravity by walking on walls/ceilings, acute sense of smell and sight, nocturnal), these are the others she possesses. Mist Form: Perfected. She can now easily squeeze through the tiniest of cracks by turning into a thick black mist. Iron Blood: She can extend each of her fingernails, turning them into foot-long talons using the iron and proteins in her system. Explained in the Weapons section. Master of Illusion: This is a special ability. It enables her to manipulate peoples’ senses (mostly their eyes) so that she can make them see what she wants them to see. But she cannot make it seem like they’re someplace else. For example, she can make it seem as if she turned a playing card into two live doves, but she cannot make an illusion in which the audience is ‘placed’ somewhere else, like a beach or outer space. In other words, she can’t make the whole environment change using her tricks, only a few things or people at a time. Another example: She can make it look like a tiger is attacking her, but cannot make the room look like a jungle. She does, however, have a unique illusion which she can draw her opponents into.
Appearance There is a black ribbon tied around her neck; the ends of it reach down to her thighs, and trail behind her when she moves. Personality: Jess, having remembered what happened to her family has a soft spot for young children, and would perform minor tricks for them to make them happy. If one begins acting rudely, she’d act like a good mother and quickly set the youth straight, even if she doesn’t know his/her name. She is an extremely kind, soft spoken person. Although she can fight extremely well, she prefers to use her tricks to confuse the opponent before escaping. It takes a lot to make her fight. If one threatens a child with death, she will not hesitate to rip that person limb from limb--out of the sight of the child, of course. On stage, Jess is almost a different person, she is much bolder, often asking for volunteers or going into the crowd to talk to people while using her illusions. If someone calls her by her real name instead of her stage name, she ignores them until her performance is over. She is as graceful on stage as she is off, smiling and bowing--she’s always a hit with the audience. If not, she’ll feel badly, and try her best to make up for it. Themesongs: Rod Stewart - Faith of the Heart Biography: Jessi was born a vampire, into a family of vampires. She had a single mother and a younger sister (Elizabeth). Although they were vampires, they were not evil, drinking the blood of cows in order to survive. At the age of nine, her mother was brutally killed right in front of her seven year old sister by a man named Ulrich, who was an agent in an organization that was against all undead and demon-kind called D.A.M. The sisters would have been murdered as well, if it weren’t for the intervention of two vampires, Rain and Vanyel. Rain had saved Jess from Ulrich’s grasp while Vanyel had looked after her sister. In the end, Ulrich escaped with his life alone, leaving behind the four vampires. Because they had no parents to see about the girls--their father’s whereabouts were unknown--Vanyel and Rain decided to take the girls with them, regretfully splitting the sisters up, but promising to meet up every now and then. Rain and Jessi journeyed together for a while, both overcoming difficulties and having some peaceful times. It took a small while before she warmed up to him, as he was treating her not like a daughter, but like a sister which is why she began looking up to him as a brotherly figure, more than a fatherly one. By the time she was eighteen, she had already mastered most of her abilities, and was just discovering her ability of illusion. She and Rain had traveled to a myriad of places, gaining great knowledge of both the world’s greatness in both dangers and pleasantness. They were brother and sister now, for all they cared. Even so, she was heartbroken when Rain left. She had waited for him, but he did not return. In her heart, she felt it, she knew that he was dead. After a while, she decided to move out on her own, adopting a variation of Rain’s surname and using it as her middle name--so that she would never forget him. Jessica became a traveling performer, doing various magic tricks while perfecting her illusion skill. Eventually, she started to perform her myriad of tricks in small bars or restaurants under the stage name ‘Lady Eyes’, thinking that Rain wouldn’t want her to go on just wandering. But she traveled because she was hoping to encounter Vanyel and her sister in order to give them the news. For years she did this, never giving up hope. She heard all the rumors, of a duo that resembled Rain and Raisha, but it was hard to believe--Rain was supposedly dead, and from what he told her, Raisha was evil--nothing like his true sister. But subconsciously, she felt something had changed. She began traveling to where the sightings were the hottest, but it was too hard to keep track. Often, she would say: “Please…Leave me a sign. Anything.” Eventually, she would reunite with him and fight by his side in the oncoming battle against Chaos. (Approved by Kitsune)

Re: Insaney's Sane Characters
Near Matthew Cronqvist The Crown Clown Real Name: None. (You’ll see why) Assumed Identity: Near Matthew Cronqvist A.K.A.: King Clown, King Pierrot, Angel’s/Angelic Clown, Crown Pierrot, Crown Clown. Age: Unknown, even to him. (Appears to be around eighteen or nineteen) Race: Appears to be human, but he’s actually a manifestation of raw holy/light power, made up of something called Innocence. Innocence is a holy material, which brims with power. Sometimes people are born with it already in their bodies (like in the biography, Mathias’ left arm) or they can be made into weapons or items which only certain people can wield. In other words, Innocence usually has a mind of its own, able to ‘choose’ its wielder or act on its own. Sex: Appearance is male Hair: White-ish. Chin length, but the back is sort of spiked outward. It’s soft and silky. Eyes: Silvery-blue Weight: 122lbs Height: 5 feet 6 inches. Weapon(s): Crown Jewel: Near’s slender left arm is made up of a black material (a concentration of something called Innocence. It is the substance that Near is made up of). It encases his whole arm and extends his fingers’ ‘reaches’ by creating silvery, razor sharp ‘talons’ (see his appearance). This arm cannot be broken or shattered, neither by physical pressure nor by any sort of magic. The hand itself can be expanded to Near’s will, creating an impenetrable shield or a large weapon. Even though it is made like this, it is extremely light and easy to wield. Each talon can cut through the toughest metals and his grip can crush steel and bones alike. When his Demented side is in play, the arm can be detached and changed into a massive zweihander sword that only Near can lift and wield with his right arm (it will seem to be too heavy for anyone else.) Demented is the only one that can willingly detach and reattach the arm, because of his high pain tolerance. This sword will be explained more in the Skills/Magic section. When the hand is not in use, or the sword is in use, his cowl automatically drapes over his left side, covering his ‘weird looking’, or missing left arm. Strengths: The Clown is extremely agile and swift--able to complete near impossible flips and antics without harming himself. He can also run almost as fast as the speed of sound (but cannot break the sound barrier--and he can only run that fast, not move that fast). The three different personalities that he has also act differently in combat situations. The Manic is the one that concentrates mostly on defense and evasion, having the lowest tolerance of pain, while the Demented focuses on all out attack, and has the highest tolerance of pain out of the three. The Normal is the balanced one. Calm and collected, he thinks before he acts, balancing both offense and defense perfectly. Holy or light energy used against him will make him heal at an accelerated rate, and due to his connection with a being called Chaos (the same connection that brought about the Demented), dark/shadow magic has little effect on him. Weaknesses: The Manic is in control most of the time. This side has the lowest tolerance of pain; therefore, he’ll almost always retreat from a fight if he takes a hard blow or serious injury. Manic is also very easily distracted if the current situation is not interesting enough to hold his attention; dangerous against a seemingly dull but strong opponent. Since there is more than one personality, the Manic and the Normal sides keep fighting for control (the Demented only shows when Near takes a lot of hits, or if someone or something hurts his friends). Sometimes, when a switch between personalities takes place, it can take Near’s focus off of a situation, which can have disastrous consequences (especially if Normal is in control before Manic kicks in) When Demented is in control, Near goes into a full offense, often detaching his left arm to turn it into the sword. In this state, Near will often let the opponent land a blow just to land one of his own; this could be used against him. Skills/Magic: Telepathy: Near can read minds, and hear other peoples' thoughts, but can't communicate telepathically. Punctual Fool: Using a single talon, he can rip the space time continuum, and teleport himself through time. However, he cannot go back (or go forward) a few hours, or days. He can only use it to go back or go forward decades or centuries at a time. He can also take other people with him. (This is just so that he’ll be ‘able’ to participate in almost any time/place setting in an RP) Cross Grave: Near crucifies and annihilates his targets by etching a cross onto them with his left hand, capable of destroying lesser demons with only a single talon. The crucifix he etches explodes, engulfing the victim in pure holy light energy. The move deals little damage to holy beings or powerful demons. And the explosion itself has basically one quarter the power of a modern day grenade. This move can also be used to heal other people (Near cannot use it to heal himself) by drawing the cross in the air, close to the person’s chest. It can heal paper cuts or make a limb regenerate. Marionette Strings: Released from the sleeve and glove on Near's right arm, it is an ectoplasm-like flurry of ‘strings’ used to grasp objects, immobilize opponents, or form hardened spikes to impale enemies. Each strand is as thin as a fishing line, but much, much stronger. Marionettenspieler: Using the strings, Near can have utmost control over a very weak-willed being. He doesn’t have to be very close by or above his puppet to do so. The hold is broken only when Near is very, very far away, or if the person suddenly gains the amount of strength and willpower to break free. Crown Edge: The giant zweihander broadsword Near's left arm transmutes into. The sword can be wielded like any other, though, if the he wills it, the blade can exorcise evil from almost any vessel it strikes without any harm coming to the vessel itself. If used on a weak-ish demon, it (the demon) will explode. The sword is so large, that if it is stuck into the ground, Near can stand perfectly on the hand guard. Clown Edge: A swipe of raw destructive power dealt with Near's full claw. If less than four talons make contact with the opponent or object, then this spell won’t activate. Eyes of the Fool: When Near steps into an illusion (or if an illusion spell is directed at him), a masquerade-style mask appears over his eyes. It allows him to see through the illusion, making him able to discern what is real and what is not. The mask is a shimmering purple colour. Shadowblend: When Near is in need of rest, or wants to sneak around without being noticed, he can just hop into any shadow. When this ability is used, the three personalities split up into three different entities (The Manic, Demented, and Normal) all resembling each other while in the shadow. When like this, the three can discuss a variety of subjects or plan something together or they can move through the shadows to another area. If a being is melded with the shadows, the three can interact with it. Other than that, they cannot attack or interact with anything outside of the shadows. Near can also enter mirrors to rest and regain energy faster, but he doesn’t split up as he would in a shadow, and anyone viewing the mirror would see a slight differen |
