Johnny Bones

Name: Johnny Bones

Age: 21

Race: Zombie

Race Explanation
: See Bio. Go there first before reading anything else.

Sex: Male.

Super-special-awesome Theme Songs: Them Bones - Alice in Chains; Cowboys from Hell - Pantera

Hair: Form One: None. Form two: Shaggy black hair that stops a bit above the shoulders.

Eyes: Both Forms: Shining crimson, though Form One lacks eyeballs.

Weight: Form One: Thirty-five lbs. Form Two: 180 lbs.

Height: Both Forms: 6’2”.

Weapons: Johnny carries a four and a half foot long sword, made of an unknown but extremely light, durable metal (with diamond edging placed along the blade at various intervals) strapped to his back, decorated with the ornate words “Quid Pro Quo” on both sides of the blade. Two Beretta 92FS pistols (ten rounds per gun) rest in low-slung holsters on his hips. On special occasions, he’ll carry a sawed-off, twelve-gauge Ithaca 37 DSPS shotgun. He carries a satchel of ammo for all three guns. Finally, he usually carries half a dozen flashbang grenades and another half dozen fragmentation grenades.

Armor: Sand-colored bulletproof jacket and pants, both made of an advanced, Kevlar-like material that imitates the strength and resilience of spider silk. It won't get stained and it is extremely hard to cut or break it, but it can be bent easily for movement.

Vehicles: A black-colored M12 Civilian Warthog. It provides amazing speed and can easily traverse the roughest landscapes. Johnny added various modifications himself, such as machinery for speed boosts, quicker acceleration, etc. It has "trans-system GPS, omni-directional networked surround sound, complete user-specific voice control and a highly efficient long range power cell."

More recently, Johnny...acquired...a silver Kawasaki Ninja ZX-64 sports bike.

Appearance: Form One: A skeleton with clothes (See Form Two for clothing description).

Form Two: Form Two is that of a regular human. Johnny’s skin is heavily tanned, with numerous scars on his torso, arms, and legs. His skin is rough to the touch. His only facial hair is short stubble. He's burned off just about every ounce of fat imaginable; he's ripped. He wears a gray undershirt along with his sand-colored bulletproof cargo pants and jacket. The jacket also has various pockets to hold whatever junk he feels is worth carrying around. As a personal touch, the zombie had a tailor stitch the name “BONES” across the top-back of the jacket. Johnny prefers not to wear shoes…just because. Around his neck is a small, silver crucifix. A belt goes through the loops on his pants that sports two holsters for his pistols. Finally, he tops it all off with a tan baseball cap, usually worn backwards, with a cross emblem on the front.

Skills/Magic: His holy magic, received in his resurrection, is divided into two tiers: Offensive and Defensive.

Offensive:

Shadow Drain: A power coming from the powers of shadows and Death himself that leeches energy and happiness out of the opponent. It has the opposite of a glow, draining light into it like a black hole. Prolonged or excessive use causes Johnny to become close to suicidally depressed; possessing the power leeches his own happiness away some of the time.

Blast – A blast of shining holy energy, either in a beam or a sphere, that moves extremely fast and has varying strengths, ranging from the force of a small shove to the force of a large elephant being shot at high speed into a wall that shatters…if you can’t guess, YOU are the Wall.

Holy Flame – Johnny can produce and dismiss fistfuls of golden, holy flames that can’t be doused by earth, water, or air.

Flaming Sword of Eden Although Johnny isn’t an angel, he can imitate their flaming sword ability (See Genesis 3:24) at will, merely wishing it and his sword will light up with flames identical to his holy flames.

Disease – Sores and boils erupt on the opponent’s body, extremely painful to pop or touch (though there are, of course, other ways to heal oneself). Johnny has to make physical contact with the recipient’s skin for this to take affect.

Tainted Projectiles – Johnny can taint his bullets, along with any other projectile that isn’t physically touching him.

Swarm - A large cloud of flesh-eating locusts attack the chosen recipient of the attack.

Astonish – The zombie –appears- to double in size, his crimson eyes glow even brighter, and those affected feel the icy cold hands of fear gripping them, as though the very wrath of god had descended to destroy them…woohoohoo. Gives me goosebumps…ahem. The recipient can be paralyzed for any length of time, depending on the strength of that person’s will, but usually the effect lasts, at bare minimum, for thirty seconds.

Smite - Lightning rips out of the sky, regardless of weather, to attack the target. He can also shoot it from his hands.

Defensive/Non-aggressive:

Heartbeat - Time "slows" down for Johnny and Johnny alone (a la Matrix).

Shield – A shield, three feet in diameter, can be summoned to Johnny’s arm at will, constructed of holy energy that is extremely hard to dissipate. A strong enough blow, however (say, getting shot with two rocket launchers) will destroy the shield. Almost all sword blows will be absorbed and will fail to destroy the shield. The shield also deflects dark and unholy magic extremely well.

Cure – With a simple touch of his hand, cuts, gashes, bruises, etc. can be healed within seconds. Broken bones will heal at an accelerated rate, but won’t mend automatically. Any severe wounds can’t be helped.

Water Walk – Emanating Jesus, Johnny can walk on water. He can also send this power through things he is connected to (for example, if he had a wheelbarrow and was rolling it along towards water, both he and the wheelbarrow would go across the water as opposed to into the water).

Deadeye – Johnny’s eyes, composed of some sort of energy the likes of which mere mortals cannot fathom (translation: they’re special), can zoom in on objects up to half a mile away, allowing him to see objects at that distance or shorter as though he was standing right beside them. Any length longer than that causes his sight to lose clarity.

Illuminate – An intangible silver orb forms from Johnny’s hand and, if he wills it, can expand until the orb is up to thirty feet in diameter, lighting up that area and dimly lighting the area beyond the orb. When the orb is close to an opponent’s eyes, it can be temporarily blinding, but mainly this magic is used during night, in dark areas, or to combat some dark/shadow magics.

Assemble (Form One only) – In Form One, Johnny can fall apart with a click of his fingers, all his bones collapsing into a pile. His consciousness, however, remains, and the bones will assemble back into a skeleton whenever he wills it. This is best used to heal any cracked or crushed bones, but also to hide. It also makes him look very inconspicuous in a cemetery.

Gift of Tongues - Like the Apostles, Johnny can speak any language necessary. This also allows him to copy the voice of any organism, human or not.

Time Leap – This can only be accessed on Mount Calvary in Jerusalem. After praying in that specific spot, Johnny can access the second millennium to get supplies or what have you. To return, he repeats the process.

Form Switch – Involuntary power. By day, he’s a skeleton (unless beaten into a human—see Weaknesses section). By night, he’s in human form, no matter what.

Strengths: Johnny has crazily amazing physical strength. Since he’s technically dead, he never tires and doesn’t require air, food, or water. While both Forms have the same mind, Form One generally allows him to be more of a reckless daredevil—in Form Two, he’s vulnerable and is therefore extremely cautious, letting him see alternate solutions to problems. While holding a gun, his arms literally never shake—an advantage to being dead. This, alongside extremely keen eyesight, give him superb aim. In Form One, if his skull is removed, his body will continue to fight as though it still had a head, while the real head will lay around on the ground until he has time to Assemble, cheering its body on or rattling the opponent. Lastly, most of his holy magic works exceedingly well on demons and dark magic users.

Weaknesses: Although he controls his own brand of holy fire, Johnny is scared to death of real fire, especially in human form—it reminds him of hell, and he knows how close to going to hell he was at the resurrection. He’s more calm about it in Form One, but will focus on the fire and –only- the fire while in Form Two (at his most vulnerable). While in Form One—skeleton form—he, obviously, can’t die. However, with enough force behind blows, his bones can be knocked off of his skeleton, only reattaching when he Assembles. If he receives enough blows that would be fatal if he weren’t a skeleton (for instance, multiple deep slashes to the chest that break his ribs, or his skull being chopped of a few times), he will revert to Form Two: his human form. If that happens, he’s as physically vulnerable as a normal human being that has holy magic, guns, and bulletproof clothes.

Personality: Johnny likes busting people’s chops. If he meets someone, it doesn't matter if they're battling or talking; he'll be caustic and sardonic, mouthing off a lot—you’re not safe unless you’re a hot girl. However, he tries to cut back on the badmouthing some, realizing that it led to his previous life’s rage and consequent sinning—every little thing adds up. He's rather cynical but deeply Christian (Hey, I’m dead. What better time to worry about my immortal self?) If someone, unlikely though it is, befriends him, he’ll stay loyal to them…as long as they return the favor. Retaining the personality of his former life, Johnny is ruthless and cunning, though death has taught him to be a bit more cautious in picking fights. He’s a daredevil, pulling off outrageous stunts whenever possible (“Hey, I’m dead. What could possibly happen?”) Although a cynic, he’s slowly become optimistic for himself, if not for others (“Hey, I’m dead. Things are looking up.”)

With the addition of his new Shadow power, he's become increasingly depressed, constantly looking for activities to renew his former enthusiasm and cheerfulness. His witty, snide remarks now seem more like gallows humor, and he often abruptly will halt debates he formerly enjoyed because he is so incredulous and annoyed at his opponent.

Biography: For the Biography of his former life, click here.

Originally, a nice young Christian lad lived who was partially divine screwed up royally, murdered countless times, and then died. Prevented by his partial divinity from going to either heaven or hell, he was resurrected three hours after death, just as dawn broke, as a zombie. Immediately, the zombie discovered just how bad he had screwed up.

“Dammit,” he hissed, crimson eyes flashing in rage directed at his own stupidity.

The zombie traveled to Jerusalem, using the Dome’s portal system to get there quicker. After waiting until nightfall to emerge as a human and a lengthy prayer session on Mount Calvary (For any non-Christians…losers…Calvary is the place of Christ’s crucifixion), the zombie was warped into Limbo—halfway between Heaven and Hell. Nothing was there in that bleak, white expanse of space…nothing but a letter, a box, and two doors, side by side. One pointed left and the other pointed right. The letter sported his old name, his name before death, written in neat, spidery writing.

“Dear Kellson:

Obviously, you have realized what has happened. The Father does not like to sentence His children to damnation so quickly, so therefore rejoice that you have been forgiven. Unfortunately, forgiven does not grant you a free ticket to the Kingdom.

You are charged to save ten thousand souls and lives in whatever order, length of time, or world that you choose. Ten thousand apologies, in the form of these lives, are to be offered to the Father and to the souls of those you killed. Know that this will not fully pardon you: some of that must come from you.

In order to help you with in your quest for redemption, pray at Calvary whenever you desire, and you will appear here. Enter the left door to return to your time; enter the right to enter a millennia into the future. Weapons that no one in your lands have ever seen can be found there. For a sample, look in the box—our gift to you.

Though you may be filled with rage, remember this: a lesser man would be roasting as you read this.

Godspeed.

PS: Use the hollow-point bullets.”

The letter was left unsigned. Kellson stuffed it in his pocket before opening the box. Inside were two pistols, a shotgun, a box of ammo, and his new, bulletproof clothes.

After taking the weapons and clothes, he went back to his own time and assumed a new identity: Johnny Bones.

Recently: He used Kellson's money that was still in his room at the Dome (numbering around five million dollars) and, after several successful stock market workings, came out with almost a billion dollars. He put the money into several different accounts, each with separate identities, to ensure that the police couldn't track him down or take his money as he delved deeper into criminal acts.

Meanwhile, plagued by intermittent bouts of severe depression, he took to taking LSD, salvia, and other pyschedelics as a remedy (and to open up his mind a bit. We all want to.) To continue bringing in a steady stream of cash, he joined a fledgling progressive metal band in Austin, Texas as the drummer and backup singer under the alias of Stretch Magee. He bought a small but very nice house in the city and added built-from-scratch security systems, a homemade recording studio and a portal to the Dome.

Later, the United States government grew wise to his multiple account ploy and froze all Johnny's bank accounts, alias or no. Left with no reachable money (and, ergo, no drugs, ammunition, or way to pay the bills for his house), he looked for jobs in different worlds, ending up temporarily on Rubato working for the Santa Mariela Police Department as a sort of pseudo-detective.

Following a particularly horrible bout of depression, Johnny found that he was temporarily unable to use his holy energy. It returned a few hours later, but he still remained nervous about the possibility of a permanent power loss.

Original Soul Count: 10,000

Souls left: 9,947.
