Bryce Dynak

Name: Bryce Dynak

Title: General Bryce of the Fitarian Wyvern Knights

Age: 38

Race: Human

Sex: Male

Hair: Long grizzly and brown

Eyes: Light green

Weight: 240 pounds (340 with armor)

Height: 6 ft 8.2 in

Side-note: Bryce’s wyvern is a huge grey winged beast called Volke. It is eighteen feet tall when it stands on its hind legs. Volke has huge wings and a long spiky tail. Oddly enough it too has light green eyes just like his master. It wears a crimson chest plate and a large crimson ring around its neck and ankles. He is a well mannered beast but when a battle arises it is a ferocious and ruthless combatant. It is vulnerable to all spells and magic attacks but can hardly be bothered by axes and swords due to its tough scales. Unfortunately Volke hasn’t yet mastered the art of the nefarious ‘dragon breath’ renowned among the older wyverns.

Weapon: Arkana’s sacred blade. Like the name implies, it was once wielded by the hero Arkana who was one of the three chosen ones who fought against the great demon and saved the lands of Marinia from complete destruction. At four feet in length from hilt to tip it is a perfect weapon to wield from atop a Wyvern. The hilt is molten red and is encrusted with various magical gems which give the blade magical fire properties. When Bryce calls upon the sword’s secret power, the shining white blade will suddenly become shrouded in thick flames which can douse the power of darkness.

Armor: He bears the weight of his 100 pound armor. It is crimson in honor of the kingdom of Fitaria; all of their soldiers and guards wear crimson armor. Embedded on the chest plate is a circle of golden gems. Along the rims of his leg and shoulder plates as well as his gauntlets are tiny black rubies that can only be found in the Fitarian mines. Upon his broad shield is the Fitarian coat of arms which is a white castle with a wyvern on either side and directly in the centre is a glowing orb that bears a stunning resemblance to the one on Bryce’s chest plate. Obviously this armor hinders the general’s movements on land but it’s like a feather for Bryce’s wyvern. The armor is extremely vulnerable to elemental magic attacks and is likewise extremely resistant to any common weapon attacks.

Strengths: He is evidently a powerful warrior on land and even more so in the air. Bryce can maneuver his wyvern as if he himself was the winged beast. As a skilled warrior he can wield any weapon known to man but he definitely prefers swords.

Weaknesses: Due to his armor’s lack of resistance to elemental magic attacks, Bryce is unfortunately very vulnerable to any water, fire, air and earth magic attack. If his wyvern is defeated or in the unlikely case that it is not present, the general moves unfathomably slow. When in the air he can only attack at close ranges and his wyvern is susceptible to any magic or arrow attacks.

Skills/Magic: Bryce’s only magical ability is his sacred sword which will become momentarily fiery allowing him to deal more damage against his enemies. He has unsurpassed skills as both a warrior and wyvern rider.

Appearance: General Bryce is a very tall and muscular man. His mane of grizzly brown hair is always windswept from his aerial patrol. He has a broad chest with a well defined six-pack. His arm and leg muscles are huge from all of his training with his soldiers. Bryce’s light green eyes are seen by his enemies for only a moment until there life bleeds away. He has weathered peach skin from his patrols in the northern icy mountains and the dry southern deserts. On his left arm he bears an old scar from his first meeting with the dark riders.

Personality: Alone, Bryce is terribly overconfident when it comes to his strength which often leaves an opening for his opponents to get the best of him. However when he travels with his team he takes every possible precaution to make sure that his troops are never harmed and that all will return to Fitaria alive and well. The general is a cunning strategist when it comes to the battlefield. Ultimately Bryce is a kind and wise man who tends to keep to himself due to the terrible tragedy which befell his family when he was but an enfant.

Biography:

Bryce Dynak was born in a poor town called Tipando. The village was built on the easternmost peninsula of Marinia and lay just under the jurisdiction of the kingdom of Fitaria. His mother Maria died giving birth to him and his father raised him as a blacksmith. Bryce’s older brother Larik was conscripted into the Fitarian army and his younger sister Saria stayed at the house to cook and develop her healing abilities.

At the age of thirteen the young Bryce had just gone to pick up materials from the mines when he noticed a large cloud of dust fast approaching the village. A large group of riders atop black horses rode towards the village, weapons raised. The desire to warn his father and sister burst forth from him and he ran back to his house. By the looks of the scene a few of the riders were fire mages as balls of fire kept soaring by and igniting dozens of the wooden structures. Upon his arrival, the young boy saw his father collapse into a puddle of mud with a huge stab wound through his chest. Red eyes glowed evilly under the helmet of the rider who had just murdered Bryce’s father. In one quick flash the killer sent a burning ball of fire at the house. There was a scream which Bryce recognized as his sister Saria crying out for help. Her shouts were drowned by the deafening sound of splintering boards as the house collapsed and the screaming ceased.

Out of the sky, through the thickening smoke came twenty or thirty wyverns, each with a crimson armored rider. They descended upon the village swiftly, putting out the fires with strong gusts from their wings while the rest fought and drove out the riders. Bryce watched in amazement but soon his reality came flooding back to him when he realized he had been cut along his arm by the rider’s sword. “Like father like son” he laughed but before the final blow was dealt the mysterious man was thrown from his steed by one of the wyvern knights. The beast devoured the horse while the rider dismounted and thrust his blade through the murderer’s heart. When Bryce awoke he was in a strange room surrounded by people in crimson armor. “Welcome to the kingdom of Fitaria” said the biggest in a gentle voice.

The rest of the story happened very quickly, as if someone had hit the fast forward button on the boy’s life. The boy grew up, he became a man and after enduring much danger and hardships topped with his painful memories of the past he received the honor of joining the wyvern knights under the leadership of none other than Bryce’s rescuer, General Valorin.

In his twenties, an evil presence began growing from the western regions, which by legend were said to contain the remains of the ancient dark demon. The feared desert riders of the south and the illustrious ice mages of the north sought this dark entity. Bryce and the rest of the wyvern knights were dispatched. Valorin lead one group to the icy peaks while Bryce was given command of the other group heading to the desert. It was there that the once innocent child proved himself a man and halted a small group of the mysterious riders. The battle was nothing like Bryce could have imagined. His wyvern and him were as one as they launched attack after attack. Some of the knights had taken serious damage from the fire attacks but all had survived. With a triumphant gleam in his light green eyes he led the group back to Fitaria to see how the other group had fared.

When they returned however Bryce and his team were greeted with horrible news. General Valorin and his knights had been ambushed by none other than the ice sorceress Glacienna. Valorin had been forced to watch his knights, one by one, killed and finally the sorceress dealt one final blow to him and it was over. Only one had managed to escape to report what had happened. Larik, one of the new wyvern knights had barely survived the encounter and was able to return to the kingdom and warn the other knights.

It took only a second, but Bryce recognized his brother Larik. They shook hands and then embraced. All his life Bryce had thought he was alone, but his brother lived on and finally years later they had encountered each other again. This heart filled moment was interrupted by Alnard, commander of the elite Fitarian foot soldiers. He said that in Valorin’s will, it was written that Bryce would become the next general of the wyvern knights.

Bryce’s goal became obvious. As he was now charged with defending the kingdom of Fitaria he had no choice but to stop this impending darkness from the northern peaks. But first the general knew that he was not yet ready for this task. And so in the middle of the night; he and Volke flew from the city leaving Larik in charge. Bryce sought out the strongest of foes from every land.

And so it was that the poor little boy in Tipando village grew up and became the General of the Fitarian Wyvern Knights. But his story does not end here. The conflict across the lands of Marinia was merely starting to surface. What became of the Sorceress of ice? Was the growing darkness really the ancient demon’s soul calling for its body? To find out read Glacienna’s character profile.

Thanks for taking the time to read about my character and I'd be glad to change anything if you find any problems.

EDIT: just to note the story makes more sense if you read each character in the following order, but it's not overly important.
Part 1: Alura Fitaria
Part 2: Bryce Dynak
Part 3: Glacienna
