Toofy
Name:
Toofy. Though he was once known as “Jaster the Jester,” he long ago threw away his old name and embraced what he is now: Toofy. Age: Unknown, it’s hard to tell due to his… unique appearance. Because of his size and shape he appears to be in his early twenties or so. Race: He’s assumed to be human, though the assumptions are most likely mostly correct. One would correctly call him “The Un-Living” Sex: Male Hair: None, he’s as bald as you will be in 1000 years. Eyes: None, his eye sockets are empty as your head. Weight: 23 pounds, the weight of today’s teen models. Height: 6 feet, the size of your ego. Weapon: Toofy uses whatever he can grab to fight with. However, he does have a weapon he carries with him at all times. His weapon of choice is a small, three foot mock scepter (or marotte). At one end of the scepter is a round carving of a head with a devilish teeth bearing smile, while on the other end is a carving of a sad face with closed eyes and tears painted on its cheeks. The sad face he calls Delilah and the devilish face he calls Jaster. When the devilish face is pointed upward, it transforms into a blade with the flick of a wrist. The blade is twice the size of the stick being six feet from the pommel to the tip of the steel. The blade bears many complicated designs and markings, being far too detailed for a simple magic trick. The blade has a wavy design at the base, being almost serrated. Then as it moves up to the tip it begins to straighten out. On the flat side of the sword are red streaks that resemble blood. As the blood trickles to the guard of the sword, it forms a sinister smile. The pommel of the weapon still retains the sad carving of the mock scepter; the only mourning Toofy’s victims receive. If he turns the stick around, with the sad face pointed upward, with another flick it becomes an eight foot whip made of a flexible steel cable. The whip isn’t as effective as his sword, but because it is a weapon not commonly seen it is hard to predict. It usually catches his enemies off guard. The cable is strong enough to parry sword blows, so it’s not a completely useless weapon. The pain received from each strike is much more to Toofy’s liking. Only Toofy can operate this scepter because he is the only one who knows how it works, save for his mentor. Other Tools: Toofy uses more than just his cane for combat. He has many tricks up his sleeve. Cards: He has fifty four of them exactly: The normal 52 plus the two jokers. There is a move Toofy uses that replenishes his cards called “Cheater’s Deck.” It’s not so much of a move as it is a spare deck of cards he keeps on hand at all times. He hates using the Cheater’s Deck because he believes it’s cheating. He has no problem with cheating, but when it comes to combat he despises it greatly. To restock on cards, Toofy simply has to buy a normal pair wherever they’re sold. He only keeps two decks at one time, however, believing using any more than that would be unfair. And even then he uses his second pare with great reluctance due to his firm believe that cheating shouldn’t be allowed in combat. However, if he deems his foe is cheating, he will use the second deck without a fuss. 2-10: These cards, when used, fly from Toofy’s sleeves and are as lethal as their number, 2 being the weakest and 10 being the most deadly. 2 will leave a mere cut while 10 will leave a painful gash. When these cards are used, they move fast. They aren’t thrown, they fly. They move with intentions of their own, rarely missing their target, following its movements with deadly precision. Jack: When this card is used, it causes one item of Toofy’s choice to disappear from his opponent’s person and given to himself. This can be anything, even if Toofy can’t wield it properly. As long as it gives his enemy a disadvantage, he’s fine with it. Queen: When this card is used, a clear, silvery box is created around his enemy. There is no way inside or outside of this box. It is invincible, nothing is allowed inside our outside of it no matter how powerful the prisoner is. It can be used as a protection technique, or a move to capture his opponent. The box will only disappear if Toofy wills it. The move is used to mainly amuse Toofy, watch his opponent struggle. His enemy may overexert themselves to try to escape which plays to his advantage. He can’t harm the prisoner when the box surrounds them so overall this move isn’t powerful, but very amusing. King: When this card is used, it flies high into the sky. The card is often forgotten about for a while as nothing seems to happen, but when Toofy wills it, the attack will unleash. From the sky above his opponent’s head, the card simply floats. But when Toofy believes it’s time, it will suddenly transform into an enormous pile of gold coins. The cold coins will fall from the sky and crush his enemy beneath them. It’s a win/win situation really: If his enemy survives, at least he becomes a little richer. Ace: In the sky! It’s a bird; it’s a bigger bird, NO! It’s a huge swarm of griffin feathers, come to poke many times with their razor sharp quills! When the Ace card is used, it merely vanishes in Toofy’s hand. From behind his enemy, an enormous swarm of supernatural feathers pelt into their back at unrelenting speeds. This move is easily voided with a type of wind attack due to the feathers’ light weight, but otherwise this move might be very irritating, especially if you’re allergic to griffins. Other than allergies, this move will poke you with over 10,000 feathers. If you’ve never been poked by a feather quill, go poke yourself with one right now. They hurt, and when there are 10,000 of them they hurt even more. Because these are griffin feathers, they have magical properties and can pass through any magical barrier, save for Toofy’s Queen Card. Joker: This is Toofy’s favorite move, but he only uses it if either he has to or if he’s bored and desperately needs the extra amusement. If he uses one of these cards, an exact duplicate of him is created. The duplicate shares the same strengths and powers and traits as Toofy, but cannot use the card tricks. The duplicates are 100% identical, impossible to tell apart. When he’s using his jokers, he can jump his consciousness from one to another if wishes, just in case his enemy guesses right the first time. Many times is he known to reach into his Cheater’s Deck to bring all four duplicates in at once. Bells: What’s a jester without his bells? Yes, Toofy has bells on both his hat and on his shoes. Ordinarily this would be a disadvantage, but Toofy is not what one would call ordinary. The sounds of his bells are heard long before he appears, but the sound is always heard coming from the exact opposite direction. This might not seem like much, but it’s just enough for surprise to be on his side. Armor: Toofy’s clothes are designed to absorb magic, though one wouldn’t quite call it armor. If any sort of supernatural power is used on him it is absorbed into his body and causes his strength to grow. His armor doesn’t stop alchemy, however... it just happens. Strengths: Toofy’s strength is in his cunning and strategy. He’s very smart and always thinks four steps ahead of his enemy, never acting outside of his rules. He may frighten many with his deathly appearance, but he doesn’t dwell on the concept of fear as a weapon. Toofy’s skill in combat is what makes him the most unusual of them all. While he fights, he will perform various twists and turns that the normal human body would find impossible to accomplish. Toofy, being nothing but a mere skeleton, can turn his body in odd manners that utterly confuse his enemies as he attacks. He will often charge at his enemy running backwards just to throw them off guard. This sort of thing will work on those who are even capable of keeping themselves in the most frightening situations because of the unpredictability of his attacks. This is even more deadly with his abnormal swiftness. He’s not terribly fast, but he’s fast to the point where it would be wise not to underestimate him. Finally, his greatest strength is the power to never tire nor die. His bones are impervious to the strongest forces and are magically sealed to each other so they won’t tear apart. Toofy also doesn’t have a nervous system allowing him freedom from pain, but he also can’t feel anything at all which can be a disadvantage. Weakness: Toofy is very weak because he doesn’t have muscles, but even without muscles he still harbors the strength to lift heavy objects. Any trained warrior can easily overpower him which is why Toofy avoids locking blades for too long. Other than Toofy’s weak physical strength, he only weighs 23 pounds, not counting his equipment. He can be lifted with one hand by the average person, that is if they can lay a hand on him. But a quick slash across Toofy’s chest could send him tumbling several yards down a field as well. This is his greatest weakness; even though he can stand up and come back fighting. Skills/Magic: Magic? Pfft. He does sort of have a few skills, however. His mind can’t be read simply because he doesn’t have one. Illusions and mind control techniques are useless on him. He is a skeleton, clean of human organs. Mock Scepter Toofy’s Mock Scepter is a handy tool. On each tip is a head, as explained before. These two heads each hold a magical ability. At the moment, Toofy only has a single power per face on his scepter, though he’s been told it holds much more power. Delilah: The sad face --Deepest Sorrow-- When he uses this power, dust fills the air that causes his enemy to grow heavy with depression causing them to be distracted and weighed by grief. It is more effective if the person has had a difficult past. His enemy doesn’t need to breath the dust for it to work, but it does need to make contact with their skin. Jaster: The Devilish Smirk --Flaming Fury-- His first power creates a beam of intense flame that sets everything in its path ablaze. Toofy might get a little carried away with this move and want to set everything around him on fire. Appearance: Toofy is the un-living. He’s not dead and he’s not un-dead, he’s simply a living man who’s been stripped of his flesh. Toofy is a skeleton, sure to polish himself when he sees it necessary. On his hairless scalp he wears the typical jester cockscomb of the trade. The bizarre cap is black and red with three liliripes, more commonly known as the points of a jester’s hat. The liliripes are floppy, made of a fine cloth and are designed to catch fire, but not harm the wearer. On the end of each liliripe is a silver bell, jingling cheerfully when Toofy draws in for the kill. Toofy’s shoes have unnecessarily long and curly tips. On the edge of these tips are silver bells, identical to the ones on his cap. These shoes are also black and red, matching the rest of his attire. Even though they may be rather large shoes, they’re actually quite comfortable to a person who could actually feel. They don’t hinder his movement in the least and are darn good looking to boot. He wears a pair of red and black shorts that end at his knees. A silver belt is strapped around his waist. His top is a red and black jacket he with silver studs lining the front. He usually wears his jacket open, revealing his exposed ribs. Personality: Toofy is a twisted person. He thinks of combat as if it were a game. The whole idea of combat is one person outwitting their foe in a battle of mind and strength, the same way most games are played. Toofy will often crack dark humor in the midst of battle, more outside of battle as well. This only makes, seeing how he was once a court jester. He’s quite skilled at juggling things and balancing as well. Flexibility and agility also work to his advantage of overall amusement. Riddles are something he writes on a whim. They usually don’t turn out the best, but they’re fun to speak in. The amusement he provides is usually for himself. Everything’s not all fun and games with this jester. Toofy has a fascination with death, seeing how he actually cannot die himself. He sees death as his only friend, the one thing that bites everyone but him in the end. Of course, death has his select few other friends. Due to Toofy’s twisted obsession with death, he often brings it to many people he doesn’t like. Whether it’s the way they look at him, or the way they act, he’ll kill them if he feels like experiencing with the afterlife at the moment. However, even if they are his greatest enemy, if he enjoys playing with them he will leave them alive to come back for more. Other than the afterlife, Toofy has one other fascination: women. He never goes beyond playful fun with them, though at times he wishes going further were possible. Many believe his rather adolescent fascination with them is because he desires to feel them, but can’t. How he longed to have at least one lady’s lips rest on his, but now that chance is all but gone. Toofy is someone most people would call insane. However, everything I just told you is merely a mask. In all reality Toofy’s life is nothing but a great tragedy. His life was full of sorrow and he was never able to let go of it completely. During his years as a jester, Toofy learned to hide his true feelings so they wouldn’t’ interfere with his work. Now, he’s sure not to let anyone see it. This is aided by the fact his face is nearly impossible to read. If his mask were ever broken, someone would see a different person entirely. Jaster’s mask has almost become a separate being entirely. Now Toofy governs his life, he is his master and Jaster is his slave. Biography: Applause, glorious applause. Jaster beamed with pride, his unmistakable laugh echoing throughout the throne room, barely heard above the roar of the crowd. The laughter only encouraged the audience to applaud all the more. They were entertained. Jaster knew with this last trick he was a favorite. His performance for tonight, however, was now over. With a deep and over exaggerated bow, Jaster rolled backward out of the court on his round red ball. Success, a pure magnificent success. The big man himself would most surely hire him as his personal court jester now, he had a good feeling the promotion was now his. This was what he had been working toward the past three years and now it was almost his. The King’s entertainer, one step closer the magician’s daughter. Jaster knew he was a fool of the king, a jester if you will. It wasn’t thought of as the most glamorous job in the kingdom, but people respected the profession. The Kingdom of Harc took their entertainment seriously, but the job of an entertainer wasn’t exactly nobility. Entertainment and women were Jaster’s two passions. If he played his cards right, he would have the job of his dreams and the most beautiful woman in the kingdom, Delilah, Master Horus’ daughter. He met her many times before. She thought he was funny, but Jaster was always unsure what she really thought of him. Did she find him attractive? Many women did, but Jaster would use them and threw them out unsatisfied. This young lady looked perfect. She would satisfy him he was sure of it. When Jaster was behind the safety of the curtain, he was finally free to breathe. Performing for too long could take a lot out of someone, but it was worth it. “Jaster, that was magnificent!” A compliment from Markus was as rare an arctic cactus, which everyone knew never existed. Jaster bowed in his over exaggerated manner once again. “You taught me well.” He couldn’t help but smile, today was a great day. “I am very proud of you Jaster; I believe today you achieved what we both wanted and expected.” Markus was right. He wanted this for Jaster almost as much as Jaster wanted this for himself. They were both very much alike; aside from the fact Markus was about ten years older than him. They were both excellent entertainers, Markus being the better of the two due to being Jaster’s mentor, but in time things might change. To put it simply, when people heard the name Jaster the name Markus went hand in hand. “There’s no doubt the king has chosen you, Jaster. I could see his eyes and they told the whole story, he was amazed and wanted to see more.” Jaster smirked; he saw the king’s eyes too. He saw Delilah too, she maintained her ladylike composure throughout the performance, but he could tell she enjoyed the show. Markus placed a hand on his friend’s shoulder. “So,” he winked, “What about Delilah? You think she liked it?” Jaster shrugged with a chuckle, “By my grandmother’s grave she better have liked it.” Markus laughed. Inside joke. Two years later *** Ok, so this is what it came to. Were they going to kill him? He just got a little friendly is all. He was so depressed after Delilah finally crushed his heart. He started drinking, then decided he needed someone to cheer him up. Sure what he did was a little drastic, but… ok, he deserved it. They were going to kill him, he knew it. He would kill him too if it were up to him. What he did wasn’t worth it. Why did he choose to do what he did? He could have stopped himself, but he didn’t. The king’s royal guard hadn’t found out about this yet, but Master Horus was something far worse. “First you violate my daughter, and then you do this?” Horus hissed. “To think I once enjoyed your works.” “So,” Jaster swallowed a lump in his throat, “You’re going to kill me?” “No!” Horus shouted, “You don’t deserve death.” “So what are you going to do—“ Horus’ staff was pointed at his forehead. “When you find true love only then will you return to your old self!” Horus shouted. “Wait, what?” Jaster was scared. Old self? What was he talking about? What was he going to do? He heard of Horus’ magic before, but he didn’t think it was ever real. Now he was beginning to wonder, were the stories true? “When I say true love, I say true love. Not what you call… love.” He paused, anger burning in his eyes. “But I doubt anyone would ever love a monster.” The staff’s tip seemed to explode with light. White, then black, then nothing. Monster, the words echoed through his mind. It was so cold, then suddenly it wasn’t. Markus? Now *** Travel, entertain, hate, kill, travel, entertain, hate kill, travel, entertain, hate, kill. An endless cycle he’s now stuck in. The gods frowned upon him, he frowned upon himself, but he saw all of that pointless now. He’d experimented with this new form many times, yet nothing could even hurt him. A thousand years ago it was since his flesh was removed; now he was nothing but bones. He’d grown used to it. He remained a jester even after his banishment, keeping the one thing he had left. Markus, yes, he came with him. He wouldn’t stay with him long because he had other places to go, but he at least had one friend who wouldn’t abandon him. Still, Toofy felt very, very alone. It was almost as if Markus never was there, but when he visited they would work together and entertain their victims. However, whenever he showed up he would disappear just as fast as he appeared. It was almost as if Markus didn’t want to be seen with him around other people, but he couldn’t blame him. He was a monster, and he liked it. Ooc: I understand that there are many holes in the bio, but that is done intentionally. You aren't supposed to know much about this guy yet. |
