Devin & Cari

After realizing 95% of BA characters are over powered I decided to make two characters with no special power. SO welcome to the BA two of the very few characters who cannot destroy a cuty with their pinkys.

Name: Devin

Age: 13(and a half as he would say)

Race: Human

Sex: Male

Hair: Fairly long (About half way down ears) messy hair. It is a blackish green, depending o the light you can see a hint of green in his hair even though it looks black.

Eyes: Violet.

Weight: 110 lbs

Height: 5’4



Weapon: Carries a small rapier on his side due to the fact he is to small to hold any other type of sword. The hilt is silver in color and designed like a sabers hilt covering up part of his hand. The blade itself is about three feet long, the sides are rounded, but the tip is razor sharp. Used for jabbing not slashing.

He also has a foot long dagger tucked into a pocket in his boot. He rarely uses this unless it is necessary. Also carries a small bag of ninja like throwing stars. About two inches in diameter much small then a regular shuriken. Uses these sparingly, only when he can’t get close enough to his enemy or when he needs to distract his opponent.

Armor: Carries a small wooden shield on his back, other then that he has no amour.

Strengths: Escaping, a natural born escape artist can always seem to find a way out of any situation no matter the circumstances. He is also very quick, not fast per say but great agility. Will do anything to protect those he loves sometimes things that shouldn’t be possible. A quick thinker uses his brain more then his brawn.

Weakness: Physically very, very weak, only a kid he still has yet to grow to his full height. He is also very lightweight, and can be thrown around by larger opponent with ease. Is still a curious kid sometimes that gets him into trouble. His blade is smaller then most, that with the fact he has small arms means his reach is very short.

Skills/Magic: Carries a few inventions his father created before he died.

Smoke Screen: A small ball when thrown at the ground leaves a smoke screen around a small area. Mainly used for escape purposes.

A long whip with a claw at the end that sticks digs into beams or other things, allowing him to access area other wise unreachable. Very similar to a grapple hook of wind waker fame. (I suppose it could be used as a weapon)

Claws: Wears two gloves with small retractable claws could be called a weapon but used to climb wooden walls mostly.



Appearance: He is a very lightly tanned; he wears a long sleeved, baggy, dark green shirt. Has matching black gloves with retractable claws used for climbing (Wait didn’t I mention this before). He wears black jeans, and the same colored boots, in which he houses a dagger (I could have sworn I mentioned this before). On his belt is attached his rapier (Now I KNOW I mentioned this before). Outside his clothing he looks like a basic thirteen year old, his face seems to light up the room.

Personality: A curious kid always searching or looking for something. Is strong willed and good hearted; he will do anything for those he love, more specifically Cari. Always looks on the bright side, and doesn’t believe in a no win scenario. However when something does go wrong he is always quick to blame himself. Most importantly though he doesn’t give up not matter what, he always fights to the bittersweet end.

Biography: Born into a large city he lived a fairly normal yet odd childhood. His mother died giving birth to so he was raised as a child to famous scientist with his big sister. From a young age he was transfixed with sword combat constantly sneaking into tournaments. His uncle unwillingly agreed to train the boy. His uncle was a master fencer, and swordsman. So Devin started training at age six fairly young so he had to use a faux blade (A fake blade made out of something other then metal). He trained hard trying to make his father proud, while still finding time to get into mischief.

By the time he turned nine he was a known troublemaker and avid fencer. He moved up to a real blade although it is still considerably smaller then a full length he was proud of himself. He practiced hard almost every day trying to get better. At the age of ten however a most terrible thing happened, his father while experimenting with chemical created an explosion killing him his uncle and half the town. From there on out his big sister, who became a mother figure to him, raised him.

At age 11 a new family came into to town, there daughter (12) Cari, and Devin became good friends almost instantly. They spent a lot of time together. One day when Devin and Cari where out in a field playing a large army attacked the city tacking all those found as slaves. Devin was in shock he snuck where he found his sister. She told him to run, take all he could and run. Devin reluctantly did what he was told, taking all he could. Outside the city gates he met up with Cari who also had to flee. Together they roam the land by horse stealing for food trying to find his sister who is somewhere in slavery. His only goal is to save her, but sometimes there is more to the story.

Age: 14

Race: Human

Sex: Female.

Hair: Long reddish blond hair.

Eyes: Blue.

Weight: 105 lbs

Height: 5’5



Weapon: Her main weapon is a bow. Maybe three feet long, the string was made for her so she wields it with ease. Being still young she has not mastered it but is still quite proficient.

She also has an extendable Bo staff that Devin gave her when they first met. She use to train with him all the time, and still does occasionally. She is ok with it, far from amazing, but enough to defend herself.

Armor: None.

Strengths: She is good at fooling he opponent to think of her as not a threat then coming back with something amazing. She is athletic and a fairly good martial artist. She is very tough, and refuses to stay down. Also very smart, and a quick thinker much more so then Devin, who is also a quick thinker.

Weakness: She is fourteen year old girl how much more do you need. Ok fine here, she has yet to master either of the weapons she holds and is new to combat leaving opening where there shouldn’t be. Also she is small fragile and small, overpowered very easily.

Skills/Magic: She only has an item that was given to her from Devin, who got them from his father.

Appearance: Wear a royal blue tunic with matching shorts. Usually has a red headband in her hair keeping it away from her eyes. Wears blue gloves with retractable claws very similar to Devin’s. Her shoes are a matching red to that of her headband. She carries her Bow and quiver on her back and her Bo staff at her side (It is about one foot long until it is extended. She has a small petit nose and ears. She looks like an almost ordinary fourteen-year-old girl.

Personality: A very intelligent girl, always carefully looking at her surroundings making notes in her head. She is very fun loving, and tomboyish. She always tries to look on the lighter side, also has a good sense of humor able to make even the most intense situation a little bit funny. Refuses to kill anyone, is very loyal and trust worthy. She would never do anything to hurt she cares about, more specifically Devin.

Biography: She was born into a powerful wealthy family with many valuable artifacts. Both her parents died before she could remember so the housekeeper raised her. She stands to inherit millions of dollars when she turns sixteen. Her life was fairly boring until she was twelve when a powerful army attacked the town after her. She and the two that raised her moved to a city, under different last names and the fact that Cari was supposedly there daughter.

Up to that point the only weapon she was allowed to use was a bow, considered the most dignified weapon. She trained from an early age becoming fairly good. Until she met Devin she knew no other forms of combat. Devin taught her how to fight with the Bo staff he gave to her. They practiced a lot, and talked a lot they seemed to have a lot in common.

On her fourteenth birthday she was given a bow designed to her from her guardians, not soon after the same army that attacked her town attack the city. She left the city knowing they where after her; she met up with Devin who also fled. The two roam the land in search of Devin’s sister; inside Cari feels responsible for what happened that day and refuses to leave his side till she makes it better.

Hmmm...well, I see a couple issues that need working out. First of all, Devin seems rather malnourished. >.> He's 5'4" and only weighs 100 pounds? That's not exactly healthy. Also, did you intentionally mean to have Cari be taller than Devin? Because she is by one inch. Just thought I'd point that out. Second, I'm curious to know why exactly Devin would think the explosion was his fault. You never really explained why he would think that way. Everything else seems alright, so just fix those issues. I'll take another look at it once you're finished.

He is also thirteen, I actually thought I put 110 though my mistake I'll fix it.

Yes Cari is supposed to be taller then Devin she is older.

Due to the fact I didn't think that sentence through very well I just got rid of it.
