And he can also change his age/shape/form, to gain the upper hand with immitation magic. Appearance: He has a scar running on his face. He can change his appearance through immitation magic. Here is a sprite image. ![]() Personality: Marcus is more of a peaceful type he hadn't known anything about the world around him until he was at the age of ten. When the Dragon Wars began anyway. But he will always take the time to stop and look at the world around him when he is on a quest. Those around him are no more than obsticles as long as they are not right at heart and soul. Biography Marcus was born into a Jougan family. His older brother and older sister were his close friends. His oldest sibling, his sister Nathira, was four and his older sibling, his brother Joshua was three. Two years later. "Mommy where are we going?" Nathy asked questionably, "Can we go to the river?" "No honey." she said, "Today is a special day a friend of mine in Argonia has had a daughter." "A daughter, you mean like I am your daughter?" she asked with a confused look on her face, "What is Argonia? Is it a village? "Hm hm!" her mother grunted with a smile on her face, "Yes it is." "Hanju!" "Yes dear?" Hanju replied, "What is it?" "Bandits!" she yelled, "They are catching up!" "Get down!" Hanju yelled. He stopped the wagon. Then grabbed his staff. "Holy Light!" he yelled. "You might not want to try stealing again!" The bandits were blinded from the light. Their horses were not blinded, as the spell was directed on the bandits. "Will they regain their sight?" his wife asked, "You know you didn't have to blind them" "Yes eventually." he answered. "Well of course I did we have a two year old child and two other children in this wagon. Can't let them get to them." Then lashed his whip into the air and the horses started pulling again. They reached Argonia, the city of the Argonians. Where my first character comes from. And went to the church where the father and mother were with there child. "Hello it is us." the Jougan woman said, "Oh! She is so cute. You know today is the same day Marcus was born. It feels as if though they were destined to meet." "I know how you feel." the Argonian woman inquired, "Janeen meet your destined friend. I only hope they get along when they are older. So you came a long way. Are you hungry Akiri." she asked. "Oh yes starved." Akiri added, "Oh! But you just had a child let me cook Mailyn." "Oh thank you." Mailyn added, "What would I do without you." So they stayed for lunch and went home. That night. "Waaaaaaaaaaaah!" Marcus cried, "I'll take care of it." Akiri said, "You just sleep Hanju. You have a big day ahead of you." She wen't over to the baby's crib, picked him up and comforted him. It was a stormy night. She looked out the window and saw a meteor hit the ground. "AH!" she screamed, "A meteor." Hanju awoke and went to her side. "What is it?" he asked. "A... A meteor just hit the ground!" she exclaimed. "Stay here." he said, "I will check it out." "Don't be gone to long." she said in a conserned tone. "Come back safely." she whispered to herself. "Ahahaha!" Hanju heard a strange laugh, "You will die by my hand, monk" "I do not fear evil." he said, "Show yourself!" A strange figure came in front of him out of nowhere. "BOO!" it said. "Nice try." the monk responded, "You don't scare me." "What you should fear monk is yourself or maybe this." The figure created a ball of darkness revealing Hanju's house. His children and wife were held up in a corner with Demons surrounding them. "Akiri, Marcus, Nathira, Joshua!" Hanju shouted. "Oh is that there names monk." the figure said, "Pity I will have to kill them." "Stop!" a mysterious voice shouted, "You and your minions have gone too far, I vanquish you from this world. Begone! He shot the figure with his two handguns. The figure exploded in black dust as the bullets flew through his shadow, and the ball of darkness vanished. "I will see you again monk. Remember it." the figure said. "Thank... you?" Hanju said, "Where did he go? "Right here!" he said, as he walked out of a black and misty doorway that closed up behind him. "I am what they call a dimensional bounty hunter. Now go home to your family they need you." he said, "He will be back so stay alert." "How can I ever thank you enough sir?" Hanju asked. "Keep living for the Altar. That is payment enough." he answered as he made and walked through another dimensional door. "He will be back so do not let your guard down." the man's voice was heard fading as the door closed. "I was born to." Hanju said to himself. Then he went back to his home. Eight years later. The start of the Dragon Wars. Dragons came through a large fracture in the ground. The same day eight years after Janeen's birth and ten years after Marcus'. Though they didn't seem to be harshly powerful at all. They were enough that even the armies of Brandera, nor Argonia. So they had to call the monks of Altar. Many were lost along with the families of Branderans and Argonians. This war had a major effect on the three cities of, Jouga, Argonia, and Brandera That even some of the fourteen year olds were trained to fight. Some of them thirteen. They lost children even. The dragons were devistating to the land. Joshua, Marcus' brother, was given the staff of rememberance at the age of thirteen. After recieving the staff. Joshua was given the task of assault on a dragon's nest. He was to grab an egg and take it back to Jouga. He received the egg. Amazingly unnoticed by the dragon's. Until he stepped wrong and fell out of the nest landing on the egg he took. The dragon heard the break of the egg and headed straight for him. "Joshua!" his fourteen year old sister yelled, as she ran over with her axe in hand. "Touch him and this egg gets it." (She was one of the defender Jougan) She grabbed a different egg and put it on the ground, holding her axe firmly above it. Dragon's on this planet were very protective of their young. The dragon landed by Joshua and looked at his frightened face, almost as if it looked like the dragon was reading his mind. The dragon knew it was an accident landing on the egg. But the other dragons noticed the one dragons resistance to kill the children. So they flew over to get rid of them. Nathira and Joshua were frightened and they went into the dragon's nest thinking it might protect them. Surely enough the dragon backed into its nest to defend the frightened children. Growling at the other dragons the dragon displayed a look of care and at the same time sorrow for her own child. Though she did not like the fact that they were using her egg as a weapon to keep the dragons away. She seemed to understand that the dragons were doing the same to the humans young. She flew up into the battlefront with the children on her back. And with a sudden loud and sorrowful roar. Stopped the dragons and humans and both races looked at her. Her eyes showed care and at the same time, they revealed a sense of sorrow and agony. A spear was lunged into her heart from a stray. The races froze. After noticing the spear, a stray. The dragon dropped and died. Joshua and Nathira were both devastated that the dragon that had saved their lives was dead right under them. Though it seemed as a normal death in a war. It was differant. The children were an example of the humans, and the dragon, an example of dragons. Both races were saddened, though they completely hated each other. After that night was blood and bodies. The dragons dug graves with their claws. For both the dragons and humans. Though they did not like each other before. There was a sudden bond after the mother's death that brought them together. Thus the Dragon Wars ended. At the age of sixteen. Marcus was sixteen when he became a monk for Altar. Though he had no experience as a holyman like most destined monks do at thirteen. There was an aura around him that made it seem as if he was more than Jougan. No one had known if a dragon had made this effect on him or not. The Dragon Wars were harsh, no one noticed any dragons inside the village. But it seemed as if Marcus was already well trained. His sister was now twenty and his brother nineteen. They kept the influence of the other children out of their brother's mind so he could become a well trained monk. Nineteen years later. "Come on monk." a group of academy students said, "Just one drop of wine." "No! It is my sworn duty not to take any alcohol into my body." Marcus inquired, "Among other things now, go leave me be!" He changed is form to a twelve year old boy so no one would recognize him, and walked around the city of Brandera. He noticed a woman with dragon like wings no more than three feet long. Than skeletons came out of no where. He ran to his house fighting them off. Running toward his house he found spots of blood on the walls and assumed they were his family's "No why!" he said. He saw a skeleton coming down the road outside with blood spots on his sword. Marcus grabbed his brother's Staff of Rememberance. The skeleton cut Marcus' face deep before he got a chance cast his spell, and Marcus fell to the ground. when all seemed lost. "Argonian Bane!" a woman's voice was heard. The skeleton stopped and fell apart dazed. She grabbed him, and ran to safety then asked, "Are you alright?" "I think." he replied, "Your Argonian." "Huh? What makes you think that?" she said, messing with her hair. "You used the skill Argonian Bane." he answered. "Only Argonians can use that." "I'm Marcus Gaffolia. And you are?" "Janeen Karoga. But you can call me Jan." She answered. "Look out!" Marcus shouted, "Sacred Ash!" A skeleton was behind her, and the spell made it turn to dust. "Woh!" She said, "How did you do that?" "I am a monk for the Altar." He replied. "Shouldn't you go home to your parents?" she asked, "They died just tonight. I'm all alone now. They chatted more and then headed south for a cave to the next land. There is more in Janeen's training thread. Or I will make a fic on him. Last edited by Kanon to Dreams; 02-18-2006 at 03:56 PM. |

Re: Marcus Gafolia:Monk for the Altar.
A few things we need to clear up here before I can approve your character.
1) Could you explain Staff's abilties a bit more? I assume you mean that it allows Marcus to throw any holy magic used on him right back at his opponent, but I'm not sure. Also, how big is this staff, if that's what it is? Where is the blade? Things like that. 2) Please, explain what you mean in the Weaknesses section. What is it about charming women that makes them a weakness? What effect do dark powers have on him? What kind of temptation poses a problem? 3) Either remove or seriously change his Sacred Ash ability. It's far too powerful. 4) Could you please supply more details and such in the Bio? Right now, it's just a long conversation, which isn't really good enough.

Re: Marcus Gafolia:Monk for the Altar.
That's better, but I just noticed that you haven't got a Personality section. I'd like you to add that in, and try to clear up the bio a little as well. It makes sense, but it's a bit lacking in places.
The Personality is the important change, though.
