I have to say that, despite the rather glaring cliche (the kidnapping, the letter, the assassination), it's interesting to see this story go in the opposite direction. Evil characters are less common than you might think. *Ahem* ...Right, to the point.
This is all well and good, but if his swordsmanship is going to be so impressive, you're going to have to lower his defense. Let's say his armor absorbs most of the damage from weak magic, but doesn't block it entirely. That's the only thing I could find, really. Other than that, great job.
Oh, and I'd like to point something out... You have more characters than you've had battles, and I find that disconcerting. I recall you saying at some point that creating characters was somewhat of a hobby for you, but couldn't you put that off until you've actually battled with a few of them? It's not nice to us approvers to successfully enter a character into the BA, and then never use them. >_>
Yes, the connection was easily drawn. Nearly all of my characters are connected as well, so the concept isn't foreign to me.
Anyway, looks good. *Approved*
And I'll keep an eye out for your fic. It would be interesting to see someone successfully connect their characters in such away. I say successfully because I did attempt one fic, then realized that it was going in completely the wrong direction, and ditched it. *Cough* But I digress, have fun with your characters.
